I cannot recommend this farmhouse enough! If you are visiting the Jinshanling Great Wall, staying here is an absolute must. The location is perfect, featuring a beautiful rooftop terrace where you can sit and look directly at the Great Wall in total peace. The room itself was modern, and clean, with a great AC, but set right in the middle of a charming, authentic farm.
But the absolute highlight of my stay was the host family. The hospitality is unmatched. The Owner Lady of the house cooked some of the most delicious, massive, and authentic meals I’ve had in China, and she went completely out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and well-fed. The food was also unbelievably affordable.
The Owner truly went above and beyond for me. When I was struggling to find a reasonably priced car back to Beijing, he spent hours late at night helping me on WeChat, making sure I wasn't overcharged by local drivers. He
eventually helped me find a cheap, highly scenic train route back to the city and personally drove me to the local station.
They treated a solo foreign traveler like absolute family. If you want a genuine, heartwarming, and frictionless experience at the Great Wall, book this place. 太好吃了 and 谢谢 to the amazing hosts!”

The B&B is located within the Great Wall Cultural Park, boasting beautiful surroundings and a spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated courtyard. We spent two full days hiking Jinshanling Great Wall, and my child also learned about many plants and animals here. Staying here is perfect for a leisurely exploration of Jinshanling; one night is simply too short.

It exceeded my expectations! First of all, the campground's atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. Nestled amidst lush greenery, it overlooks the entire village's hillside, offering views of the distant mountains. It also boasts a wealth of amenities (a children's playground, a mountain reading bar and art studio (said to be converted into a pottery area), an observatory, light hiking trails, a greenhouse, a deer park, and more). It was my first time experiencing a tent camp, and while it certainly wasn't as well-equipped and insulated as a typical B&B, it was small and well-equipped, and the small terraces in front of each tent were incredibly cozy. The mountain air was cool and close to nature!
The food was especially surprising, with its nostalgic breakfast and evening bar, as well as the delicious hot pot, open-air barbecue, and wood-fired iron pot stews. While breakfast options might seem limited, every one was incredibly delicious, featuring homemade salted duck eggs, handmade lamb and cilantro buns made the night before, and eggs from the farm's own pheasants.
I look forward to returning once the private hot spring room is renovated!

MuzisanshengTraveling solo, I chose The Landy Hotel, and it perfectly matched my aesthetic. The overall design features a simple, natural wood style with no excessive decoration. The room layout felt relaxed and comfortable, and the floor-to-ceiling window framed the garden view like a painting. The outdoor garden is meticulously maintained, with plants thoughtfully arranged and winding paths that make for a wonderfully quiet stroll, far from the hustle and bustle. The room was clean and tidy, the amenities felt high-quality, and the staff were very friendly. I felt incredibly peaceful staying here all day – it’s a great place to unwind and recharge alone. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Aranya.

Guest UserThe room is very clean and new, no smell. All disposable towels and bath towels are provided, which is very good. The only drawback is that the sound insulation is relatively poor. In addition, maybe because the floor is low, the flushing water upstairs seems to make a loud splash in the toilet at night, which is a bit not good. It is recommended to have some clothes hooks in the toilet so that you can put a change of clothes when taking a shower. The overall experience is good and good reviews.

Yanming Lake Hotel gave me the most profound impression during my trip this year. I am very satisfied with the environment and tent room. When we checked in that day, a total of four families stayed in tents. It was very quiet and the scenery was super beautiful. I regretted why I didn’t choose this place on the first day. It was only half an hour away from Ulan Butong. Shortly after checking in that day, it started to rain. There was thunder and lightning, and I even photographed beautiful lightning. You can feel the wind and rain outside in the tent. Then the power went out for ten minutes. Rainwater also began to flow into the house from the cracks in the tent. I was a little panicked at first and asked customer service. The customer service said not to worry, as the rain would be lighter and I could change to another tent. Later I discovered that as long as it wasn’t windy, it wouldn’t matter if it rained (it rained heavily that night, so I slept very soundly). I also encountered a wild deer running wild by the lake. I asked customer service and they said it was not raised by them and it should be wild. You can really reserve a day for Yanming Lake and just stay there. Looking at the endless grassland at the entrance of the tent, you feel so relaxed. The only regret was that it was raining and I couldn't see the stars in the sky. I sincerely recommend it to everyone. The tents here can be said to be the ceiling of the camping industry. Friends who like grasslands and outdoors must come.

Guest UserI checked into this hotel today, and the environment is absolutely stunning. The garden-style design made me never want to leave. The smart home features throughout the room were incredibly convenient, and I was especially pleased with how clean and tidy everything was. I'd definitely want to stay here again. The service was also excellent; the front desk staff were very warm and attentive. At breakfast, there was a wide variety of dishes, all very distinctive and delicious. Plus, they have both above-ground and underground parking, and even charging stations – so thoughtful! Next time I'm visiting Chengde, I'm definitely choosing Puning Hotel again.

The price was fantastic, offering exceptional value for money that completely exceeded my expectations – I got a premium experience for a low cost. The staff were super friendly and patient, always responding promptly to any requests. Anonymous User1. The hotel and resort are separate; I stayed at the resort this time.
2. The resort is cheap, but the facilities are generally average.
3. The soundproofing in the rooms is really bad; most people bring children, and the children's noise is very clear.
4. The hot tub water in the room is okay, but safety measures need to be improved, especially the anti-slip features.

Guest UserFirst, the pros: The hotel's location is excellent, just a stone's throw from Jinshanling Great Wall, which is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The hotel's design is also visually appealing, with individual courtyards forming a small village. The standard rooms are designed in a traditional enclosed style with a courtyard, offering good natural light and ventilation.
Now for the cons: Firstly, some of the staff lack professional ethics (let's not even get into service quality). When we were checking out, we couldn't find a taxi. The concierge told us there was nothing they could do and we'd have to take an unlicensed car. Then, a male staff member offered to drive us for an exorbitant 600 yuan! Keep in mind, ride-sharing apps estimated the fare at just over 300 yuan, and a carpool would have been around 180 yuan! We later found out that there's a convenient tourist bus service at the visitor center near the hotel, which runs daily to Beijing Dongzhimen for only 80 yuan, but the staff deliberately withheld this information! Many international guests stay at this hotel; such responses would be a disgrace to Chinese hospitality! I hope the hotel takes this seriously and rectifies the situation.
Another issue is the hotel restaurant, which is quite a rip-off. The 78-yuan smoked chicken had a thick layer of coriander under it, with very little meat! In short, while the hotel itself is beautiful, the service ruins the experience. I've included photos, both good and bad, so everyone can be aware and avoid potential pitfalls.
