GGuest UserOur stay at Shanhai Premium Guesthouse was an incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating experience! The mountain surroundings were absolutely breathtaking, with fresh crisp air that immediately washed away all our city stress. The room was cozy and well-designed, featuring traditional Chinese elements blended with modern amenities. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was perfect for exploring the Wuling Mountain area, and we loved waking up to the sound of birds and seeing the misty mountain views every morning. The hiking trails nearby were well-maintained and offered stunning views of the landscape. Although it was a bit remote, that was exactly what we were looking for - a true escape from urban life. The local breakfast was delicious and featured fresh, organic ingredients from the area. We particularly enjoyed the evening stargazing, as the night sky was crystal clear away from city lights. This place is absolutely perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway or anyone looking to reconnect with nature. We would definitely recommend this hidden gem to all our friends and family, and we plan to return again in the different seasons to experience the changing beauty of the mountains. GGuest UserLove their home cooked dishes! We rather go back to hotel for meal after Gubei water town. The couple bosses were so sweet to let us indicate spiciness and accommodate our minor diet restriction. They dun have noodles but they used alternative ingredients to make some gourd dish that tasted close to noodles.
The rooms were big, in SG standard, one bed was queen size and the other was super single. Their bathroom was newly renovated and love their heater installed at shower cubicle, making it more comfortable to shower in cold weather.
The couple bosses provided great tips on local transport to help us get to/fro Jinshanling for sunset and sunrise opportunities. They are situated around 5min drive from Jinshanling ticketing.
Love the room doorstep views overlooking the geese and house dog. We will choose this hotel next time!

BBay YeowHotel reception is friendly.Room is spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast offer lot of variety. Do not have much time to enjoy the hotel facilities. Supposed to reach hotel by about 6pm by high speed train. Ticket fully sold out. End up have to travel from Beijing to home by taxi. Took almost 5 hrs to reach due to heavy rain.

MM56864****The room was very quiet, perfect for some peaceful meditation. The hotel environment was also quite good. There were activities in the evening, and the drinks and snacks in each room were unlimited, which was a huge plus! My only complaint is that the breakfast buffet was only a 50 yuan voucher, which wasn't nearly enough for two adults and one child. I hope they can improve this, especially since a single night here costs a four-figure sum.

ZZhejiushishenghuo5566The trip to the Colorful Forest is perfect.
1. There are various sightseeing cars, carriages, camel riding, horse riding, and lakeside trains available in the Colorful Forest Scenic Area. If you are tired, take a car, and if you are not tired, hike. If you are hiking, the wooden plank road is also gentle, with basically no steep slopes, which is suitable for traveling with the elderly and children.
2. The scenic area costs 7 yuan for grilled sausages, 10 yuan for ice cream (a large cup), and 15 yuan for carrots for feeding deer (a large bag), which are friendly prices.
3. The scenic area is picturesque, and it is very filmy to take photos and check in. There are also various performances, which are very beautiful.
4. The service at the Squirrel Inn is very good. We arrived late and did not check in in time. At 7:30 in the evening, the front desk called to remind us that the bonfire party would start soon.
5. The bonfire party was so high, and there was a fireworks show. The scenic area was attentive.
Disadvantages: Can a shelf be added to the bathroom and washroom? It is too inconvenient.
Except for the bathroom, other aspects are perfect, a perfect parent-child trip. Come again next time.

GGuest UserLocation: Relatively superior. There is a river in front of the hotel, which is said to be the mother river of Chengde. It is very beautiful to take a walk at night and enjoy the night view. It's easy to walk to the summer resort. There is a supermarket next to it and a restaurant in the hotel. I eat three meals a day in the hotel. The dishes are rich and the prices are acceptable. I highly recommend it.
Service: The smiling service at the front desk was very friendly and enthusiastic. The Chengde travel guide was clearly explained. If you don’t know the guide, just ask them directly. I told them the wifi password and phone number, and if I have anything to talk to the front desk.
Room: Very clean, the quilt smells like sunshine, the bed is comfortable, I slept until dawn
Parking: There is a parking lot and a responsible security guard.
Environment: The hall is very elegant, beautiful, quiet and comfortable. It is really good to listen to piano music in the lounge hall.
Overall: I am very satisfied with my stay. I will stay here again next time. I recommend it.

GGuest UserWe were scared of large crowds at the wall, and followimg many online recommendation we found the Jinshanling section.
This hotel is at the great location a short walk from the mid enterance to the wall section, the Gubeikou train station is also very reachable from the Beijingbei (North) train station. It is also quite affordable to reach the place by Didi (550 yuan from the Beijing airport).
The place is clean, and the food really stands out as quite amazing, the prices are also very low, for room and food. Just tell the owner you would want a breakfast and you will be served one first thing in the morning. The ladies are also super nice and very hospitable to the foreign turists.

BBewonderaarI loved my stay here. The staff are super friendly and go out of their way to assist you. The rooms are lovely. It is super close to and has a view of the Great Wall (both 金山岭Jinshanling and 司马台Simatai). Breakfast was included. You can also see the Great Wall from the resort. There is a great hiking trail on the property and hot springs as well as other activities. Any issues we had were resolved promptly and professionally. We had so much fun here and I hope to come back someday. We took the train from Beijing North to Gubeiko and then a taxi the rest of the way. We sadly got scammed by the driver, but the hotel helped arrange a much more reasonable taxi for us when we left. I recommend contacting them should you need to be picked up or dropped off.

GGuest UserThe rooms were clean and hygienic, the owner was warm and attentive, the food was delicious and I really liked it, and parking was convenient. I stayed for six days during my trip to Jinshanling, and the owner always made time to pick me up and drop me off at the ticket gate every day. It's a farmhouse inn with good value for money. I was particularly impressed by their braised fish, magnolia sprout pancakes, stir-fried pork with mushrooms, stir-fried gourd strips with pork, handmade chive and egg dumplings, and homemade pancakes.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, and the rooms are comfortable. We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and they were quite good. After checking in and resting up, we hiked the Great Wall after 3 PM. We didn't take the cable car at all. It's about a 20-minute walk from the hotel to Zhuanduokou, and we took our time enjoying the scenery. The path down from Houchuankou has stairs. We'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Jinshanling!
