Beach Hotels in Cebu

The hotel is located on a private island. Getting there isn't too difficult, but all the main attractions (sardines, sharks, canyoneering) are quite a distance away. This hotel seems to have been designed for guests who don't want to leave it – a small 'Bounty island' vibe. But it didn't quite hit the mark. The staff here are constantly smiling. As soon as they see you, they drop what they're doing to greet you. During meals, they approach you every minute to ask questions and tell you about the free 'entertainment' planned for the day. Honestly, it's annoying and doesn't match the status the hotel clearly aims for. In a good hotel, staff are incredibly helpful yet discreet. Here, they can't even clean the room without being noticed. However, you can tell they've been trained this way, rather than it being their natural work style. So, if they were trained differently, these young people would significantly improve the service quality. Also, don't expect quick responses or help from anyone. It's better to go directly to reception and sort things out yourself. That's the most effective way, otherwise, you might drown in a Kafkaesque castle with a British surrealist twist. The room we stayed in was magnificent in terms of size and cleanliness. The shower wasn't working well, but they replaced it quickly. When walking around the room, the wardrobe wobbles and makes noise, but these are minor issues. I noticed signs of wood-boring insects in the safe cabinet, but didn't see the insects themselves, so they didn't cause any trouble. Food. The food here is very poor, compared to all the other places I've visited in the Philippines. A hotel aiming for a high rating shouldn't be serving microwaved store-bought pizza at such a price. If the food is cooked properly (grilled chicken breast, for example), it's invariably oversalted or overspiced. Or both at once. I couldn't find a single dish on the menu that was worth its price or genuinely tasty, except perhaps for the scrambled eggs at breakfast. But that's not enough if you plan to stay on the island all day, is it? Snorkeling costs 1000 pesos per hour for the boat and 100-200 pesos for equipment (each item separate: mask, fins, aqua shoes). The hotel staff claim the equipment is new, but that's not true. Aqua shoes are essentially unavailable in adult sizes (from 40 and up, we found only two old and torn pairs). The coral reef is dying after the typhoon, but there are still beautiful spots, and my wife and I don't regret snorkeling here. Especially since it was the only activity available on the island. To sum up, this hotel might suit those who want to isolate themselves from the rest of the world for a resort-style vacation with an average level of service but rather high prices for that level.

This stay was truly perfect for a family trip ❤️ The hotel is right on the beachfront, with comfortable and clean surroundings. Opening the window reveals an endless sea view; just relaxing in the hotel is a treat. What I loved most was the hotel's diverse swimming pools. Both adults and kids can find their favorite way to have fun. Swimming and playing in the water during the day, then strolling along the beach in the evening—it's pure vacation mode 🌊 Dining is also super convenient. They used to offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so you hardly needed to make special plans to enjoy the whole day at the hotel. In the evening, you could even head to the bar for Happy Hour, enjoy a drink, and feel the sea breeze—so relaxing. For a family vacation, I think the most important things are convenience, cleanliness, and comfort, ensuring both adults and kids have a great time.

The island was beautiful and we really loved the place. However, I was disappointed with the drone policy. Even though I already had a permit, drone flying was only allowed in one specific area, which did not feel safe because it was surrounded by water. It would be better to provide safer and more flexible flying locations for visitors with approved permits.

We loved staying in this location. Our room was right on the water, giving some breathtaking views morning and night. Lots of storage space and big bathroom. The hotel has a great diving center that also rents all kinds of snorkeling equipment too until later hours. Pool was clean and there was even a tipsy bar within it. Our only issue was very low water pressure in the shower which made washing long hair ia bit challenging. While you are away from the “mail” street in town, walk us about 8 min and there are few other hotels/ restaurants and activity companies located right next to hotel entrance

If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, with a refreshing atmosphere in a remote location and especially if you’re into advanced diving this is an excellent place to stay. We stayed for just 1 night, as we wanted to explore other activities and we’re not advanced divers, so we decided to change our plans. A quick tip: prepare cash in advance. The nearest ATM is quite far from the resort, so you’ll need to take a tricycle or rent a motorbike. The resort only accepts cash. The highlight for us was the stunning sea view and breathtaking sunset. The property isn’t very large, but with plenty of trees it feels secluded and peaceful. The food was also delicious.

My boyfriend and I, Koreans, stayed here for two nights! When we first arrived at the lobby and checked in, they helped us with our luggage, offered welcome drinks, and mentioned a 3,000 peso deposit. It's an old building, so it's a bit dated, but it's a beautiful hotel with an antique and tranquil atmosphere. The location might be difficult to reach on foot if you don't use a Grab taxi. However, because it's a bit secluded, it's great for a quiet, relaxing getaway. The private beach and pool were conveniently close, and there were several paid activities available at the sea. I booked a boating tour, and from morning to afternoon (you can buy a packed lunch from the hotel or choose a service that includes a meal), we went by boat to snorkeling spots to swim and play. The downsides were that the room lacked bathrobes, room slippers, and body wash. The air conditioner was old, so it was noisy, and there was an unavoidable musty smell. Also, Grab delivery wasn't available, so we had to eat food we bought from convenience stores! The advantages are the hotel's private and quiet location, plus the excellent staff service. There were only two designated smoking areas, which created a clean environment without indiscriminate smoking, which I appreciated. They provided beach towels when using the pool, which was very helpful. While the hotel breakfast wasn't as varied as I expected, it was enough to start the day feeling full. It wasn't luxurious, but it had all the basics: noodles, bread, fruit, meat, soup, etc. The kimchi was a bit shocking – it was cabbage mixed with gochujang, which was truly surprising. Facilities include a gym, an internal bar, and more. Even though the room condition wasn't perfectly ideal, it was a hotel where the facilities were worth using, taking that into account.

I stayed here with my 8-year-old son (I'll share the pros and cons of traveling with a child). 1. **Pros** * **Meals**: The breakfast buffet is standard, but they offer white porridge daily with 3-4 Korean dishes and 1-2 Japanese dishes, which was great for kids. On the day I went, there were many delicious options like japchae, jjimdak, kimchi fried rice, and jeyuk-bokkeum. You can also order iced or hot chocolate at your table, which my son enjoyed every day. * **Kids' Club/Play Area**: They have their own children's play facility. They run various programs by age group and time, and even talk to the kids in English. There are also toys and playgrounds for toddlers. This was the only air-conditioned spot in the lobby area, so my son used it multiple times. I was initially worried the facilities and toys might be old, but my son absolutely loved the fish feeding and mask making activities we tried. T-shirt and pizza making are available for an extra charge. * **Pool & Beach**: These were the best facilities! There were hardly any guests, so we could enjoy the pool and beach leisurely. You can see various fish while snorkeling at the beach – we even spotted Nemo and Dory. * **Chocolate Hour**: I only got to experience it for one day, which was a shame. There were 2-3 types of chocolates, bread, and popcorn. You could enjoy them inside the 1st-floor breakfast restaurant or take them to the lobby. I particularly liked that there were two types of melting chocolate with about three toppings, offering variety. However, only water is provided for drinks; you can order other beverages from the lobby bar if needed. 2. **Cons** * **Facilities**: Since it was only a partial renovation, the overall facilities look dated. Especially the hallways had a strong old carpet smell. That said, the general maintenance was neat, and my shower filter didn't discolor, which was a good sign. 3. **Overall Review** The location is great, being close to New Town, the airport, popular massage shops (Cielo, Cacao Tree, Oasis), and famous restaurants (Morning Glory, Coco Cebu, Cabana, The Cove, etc.), many of which are within walking distance. I chose this place because I wanted to avoid areas with too many Koreans, and except for one couple during my stay, all other guests were foreigners. If you're looking for a good value-for-money experience that feels like you're truly abroad, this is the place to go!

Location wise, this is pefect. You can just take any public transport and you are there when you get off. The staff are very well trained, very nice and very polite. Everything looked very clean and even if the hotel is not that big, they had a badminton/volleball courts. There is enough beach front to walk around. For a Lapu-lapu beach, their beach is clean enough as well. They had plenty of covered lounge couches to enjoy beach front even under the sun. The pool is small but it feels clean. We paid an extra ₱ 500 to get the ”upgrade” for the ocean view and it was our biggest mistake causing us to lose sleep. Apparently, the room assigned to us was part of an adjoining room and the sound insulation was terrible. We can hear everything happening in the other room and unfortunately the couple in the other room were going at it very loudly (the girl was shouting) until around 5 in the morning. We don't recommend the breakfast buffet as well especially if you are paying the extra ₱1,100 for another person. Very few choices, very salty meat dishes and we don't know exactly what caused it but we had a stomachache after breakfast.

We stayed at Vistamar Resort in Mactan from October 11–13, and overall, it was a wonderful and restful experience. The facilities are a bit outdated, but everything worked fine. Rooms were clean and comfortable, linens fresh, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The Wi-Fi connection was good, and we enjoyed having free access to Netflix in our room. Food was okay, and we appreciated the 30% discount for in-house guests at the restaurant. Corkage is allowed without any fees, which was a plus. They even gave us complimentary use of the billiards table for my daughter’s birthday—something we truly appreciated. The beach was clean and calm, perfect for swimming or relaxing. We hope the beach hours could be extended from 6 AM to 6 PM, so guests can enjoy early morning dips or sunset views. The pool area could use a bit more maintenance, but it’s not a big issue. Despite some aging facilities, the quiet, peaceful environment made it an ideal place to unwind. We’re grateful for the experience and will definitely be coming back. 🫶🏻

I booked this place wondering if it was the same one we stayed at for our honeymoon 19 years ago, and it was exactly as I remembered. The facilities are definitely showing their age now; the air conditioning is noisy, and many areas clearly need renovation. However, the surrounding ocean and swimming pool were still incredibly beautiful and lovely. Unfortunately, there's a large building under construction right behind the property, which has been going on for years. I imagine it would be quite noisy on weekdays, but since we stayed over the weekend, it was quiet and pleasant for us. Most importantly, the stars in the night sky were so incredibly clear – it was completely rejuvenating. Also, on our first day, I accidentally left my bag in a Grab taxi, and the staff were incredibly helpful in assisting me. I was very grateful for their efforts. The staff at the breakfast buffet were also very friendly, especially one older gentleman who was exceptionally kind. The breakfast menu changed slightly over our three-day stay, and they even made omelets fresh and brought them to our table, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The restaurant view is also stunning. Because of the loud air conditioner, we'd turn it on when we left for swimming or meals, and then turn it off when we came back to the room. There are three swimming pools, with varying depths like 4, 5, 8, and 12 feet. Being able to swim while looking out at the ocean is just beautiful. If you enter a less crowded pool, a staff member will even come over and clean it for you.
