This was my fourth stay with Homewood Suites near UAB. And like all the other times, it was amazing! When I walked in to check in, the young lady actually recognized me from my last visit and reminded me of my Hilton Honors, which I had forgotten about, and gave me a complimentary bag with 2 bottled waters and treats! Very welcoming! The complimentary breakfast was phenomenal! So many items of variety to choose from! The young lady over the breakfast area came by my table to make sure everything was OK. We spoke about my trip. Very friendly and kind to me and other guests. They even have a manager's reception during the evenings (unfortunately I wasn't able to attend) When I checked out, Tracy greeted me with smile and asked if everything was to my liking, which I responded Yes! I always enjoy my stay with Homewood! Which is true, the rooms and views are spectacular! Mine was a king size bed with a sofa that let's out to a good size bed. Spacious bathroom area, and a kitchenette fully equipped with a counter top stove, microwave, good size refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, dishes, pots and pans even a garbage disposal. Homewood near UAB is definitely my go to place, my home away from. I highly recommend Homewood to anyone for their stay while in town. The staff team are A+

Single-family villa B&B, with a total of about ten rooms on two floors It’s very convenient to take Uber from the airport in about 20 minutes within 15 miles. Check-in is very convenient and simple. You can unlock the room with the password and enter the room directly. The breakfast is quite rich, and there are milk drinks in the small refrigerator. The surrounding environment is also very good, there are squirrels in the yard🐿

We had a 6 night stay at this hotel located in the Colonnade in Birmingham, AL. A very mixed experience. Check in was handled by a nice young man named Christopher who was hospitable and friendly. He recognized our Titanium status on Marriott Bonvoy. Did well to explain the hours of operation for the breakfast buffet. We had room 301. We checked in our room and found it to be clean and standard for a Springhill. We did however find someone's dried out dinner in the sitting in the microwave. Ugh. We also prefer stand up showers and this hotel being an earlier generation of Springhill had tub showers. Bed was nice, comfy. Wifi worked well and the TY had lots of available stations. Our confirmation after booking our reservation set the expectation for me that we would receive housekeeping every other day. Well, it wasn't until day 4 that we finally got housekeeping. They told me they were short staffed. Well - I paid the same price, maybe I should have received a short staff room rate. The fitness room was closed the entire time of our stay. Looked like they had an issue with the ceiling. The lobby always had a strong cleaning odor smell. Breakfast buffet - staying at a Springhill for us the breakfast buffet is important. Seems post covid that Springhill has lowered their standards just a bit. I miss the sliced cheese, nice toasting bread and hard cooked eggs this hotel used to serve. On a positive note special kudo's to the breakfast attendant Deborah who was always smiling and very friendly. I am sorry we missed saying good bye on our final day (Sunday). Management should commend her for her hard work and hospitality We were surprised 3 days into our stay when I was checking email to see a folio that showed that we were checked out of hotel. Weird. I did go down to see what happened and they said I was still checked in. When we got the final folio it only had the other 3 days so billing was ok. A mixed experience. Some good some not so good. I have high expectations and this trip wasn't as good as other experiences in prior years at this property.

It's a nice hotel, spacious rooms and quiet. I slept better than I have in ages. The staff was very welcoming and nice at check-in, accommodated an early check-in, and sent me several messages to see if I needed anything during my stay. However, when I did send a message inquiring about a possible late checkout (three, actually, over a 14 hour span, both via text and in the app), I did not receive a response. I felt like they were clearly ignoring me or avoiding the question. Even if the answer was no, I would have appreciated a response. Eventually I called and the front desk staff was somewhat rude to me and said ”it already is late check out” which doesn't make sense since it was not yet the published checkout time. After I checked out and was reviewing my statement, I noticed I had been charged for parking even though I did not drive. I went back to the front desk to request a refund of these charges; she did process the refund, but implied it was my responsibility to tell the staff at check-in that I was not parking (no one asked me). I've been staying at Hilton brand hotels almost exclusively for over a decade and am a diamond member, I have ALWAYS been asked if I was parking or not, not automatically charged.
