Jesmond International Hotel

Absolute dump,manky carpet,wallpaper falling off the dirty walls,manky mattress,toilet door falling apart and just downright filthy...would not recommend at all,£86 for 3 nights in a twin bed room with my grandson...steer well clear

This place is dirty. We couldn’t stay with our toddler and are being refused a refund. Basic is ok but not dirty. The owner is a bully he refused to accept this establishment is not to an acceptable standard of cleanliness and even said we planted the dirt. Please don’t waste your money staying here there are plenty of budget friendly accommodations in blackpool that are clean, this isn’t one of them. The bath mat has never seen a washing machine and we found false nails on the carpet and a nail clipping in the drawer. I used a baby wipe along the side of the bed and it was thick with hair the carpet hasn’t been vacuumed in a long time and the carpet is ill fitting it is coming away from the wall. We didn’t even pull the bed cover back as didn’t want to see the state of the sheets we made the decision to go home instead of risking sleeping there. May be acceptable for adults but not fair to expose a baby to those germs. Owner does not answer the mobile number to discuss any concerns either.

This hotel was by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. This is supposed to be a family hotel but was not family orientated what so ever. The owner tried intimidating myself and my elder mother. I stood up to him and told him that it wouldnt pass with me. The room was discusting. The bedding was not clean with mouse droppings. I would stay well clear from this man and certainly would not be taking and families near him. Some people need to learn customer service.

This establishment is absolutely outstanding, granted it’s a little bit tired but there’s still plenty of life in the old dog yet. The hosts are top notch, big shout out to Martin who saved the day at 1am when our kettle unfortunately caught alight in a chewing gum in kettle accident, not all heroes wear capes. The bar downstairs is that of legend, reminiscent of one of the better gulags of the former Soviet Union, complete with pool table, a fine selection of ales and of course service with a smile (albeit with not many teeth) The rooms have beds in them which is fantastic, although a few of the footy lads have mentioned they did end up with a springy mattress and the odd pine here and there but for £15 pp what more can you want? Lastly, the club is perfectly situated in ideal walking distance of McDonald’s and the local gentleman’s club, you’re able to get a burger in your face in both. Lots of love Mr Renegade x

The hotel was okay the staff was friendly and helpful like when the card machine wasn’t working the owner said I could pay for drinks when machine was working but went to bank and drawn money out to pay him the down falls of the hotel are the rooms are out dated no wardrobes separate Toliet and shower room was freezing as there was no radiator apart from a little heater that didn’t do anything so me and my friend had to go and buy a blanket and hot water bottle even tho I asked for extra blankets but they said they didn’t have any and told me new heaters was being delivered the same day we arrived but never got one the price for drinks are a little pricey the tv kept breaking up so that needs looking at but the staff tried there best but unfortunately I won’t be staying here again

Hotel was fine, the reviews are harsh, it's not great but it Is what is for a cheap weekend on the bevs in Blackpool, it's cheap clean, owner was helpful and it was easy to check in and out would only recommend for friends stags etc deffo not somewhere to take the mrs

Iv stayed at this hotel previous and consider it the best underground bar in blackpool, some great characters. However this year i was in a foul mood having had to walk for an hour in pissing rain after struggling to find a parking spot, i ended up parking near preston and hiked in . Drenched but not defeated i then had a warmish shower and dried myself off on the complimentary hotel towel, unfortunately this had been used already by a friend and contained elements of dry love juice. Still a great trip. Thanks again Tony H

avoid at all costs/lock on the door was broken you only had to push it and the door opened/drunks making a right row/window did not shut/tv hanging off the bracket/ manager always stuck down stairs in his bar/even a tramp would not sleep here/they ought to pay me to stay there/never again do your self a favour never stay at this dump

Very basic, but cheap. Awful odour of sewage and woken up by member of staff's child having a screaming early morning tantrum in the corridor. Tv stopped working, notified staff, but nothing was done. Bar dingy, smelly and not very friendly, as well as very expensive in comparison to local prices. Location OK, but wouldn't recommend.
