"The hotel itself was a great experience and we did enjoy the novelty of staying in the prison which I would recommend to anyone. Upon arrival we were welcome by the team but very basic information was given, leading to us missing a tour of the hotel which we were told was included in the price. The manager then offered for one of the team to do a later tour for just the two of us which was cut short, very awkward and definitely not worth the money paid for. If we had been advised of the tour with the bigger group when checking in we may have had a better experience. We decided to book dinner at the chapel to experience it as much as we could but dinner was poor. We had to wait for our table, 3 different people asked for our name before we sat down and then again a fourth person checked once we were sat down. With minimal staff on the service was poor to say the least and The burger ordered was pretty much raw, I did not finish it. Once we had finished no one came to ask if we wanted anything else or to look at a dessert menu. We left the restaurant with no one even there working! Not sure where the team had disappeared to. Breakfast was good and would recommend it."

"The friend reflected that it was a country hotel and the staff was polite. The room is small and there are no cleaning supplies. Only two packs of very small shampoo are provided. People with long hair must not be enough and there is a hair dryer. The shower water pressure is extremely poor. Paid dinner is not good but acceptable, breakfast is English breakfast, acceptable."

"The hotel is in a suburb, the suburb of Bodmin, next to a highway service toll station, but there are few food at the toll station, just McDonald's, Subway and a Coop supermarket. If you want to go to Bodmin town for a meal, you can't do it without a car. Because it takes more than 2 hours to walk. So in theory, it should be normal to take away food. We bought food and prepared to eat in the hotel lobby, and then the front desk staff came and said that you can't eat, our place provides meals, and you can't eat takeaway food. To be honest, this is the first time I heard this reason. I'm not sitting in your restaurant, can't I eat takeaway in the lobby? I've stayed in many HIXes in the UK, and I came across this one, which was arrogant and acted like it had a reason. Other HIXes will let you use plates and knives and forks. This one will only drive people away. I thought they wanted me to buy their wine, so we bought it, and after buying it, they still drove people away. It was really annoying.
