I recently stayed at the Hyatt Grand Central New York, and while the location is extremely convenient, right next to Grand Central Terminal and close to many Midtown attractions, the overall experience was not as positive as I had hoped. The hotel feels quite dated. The rooms, although relatively spacious for Manhattan, show noticeable signs of wear: older furniture, tired décor, and bathrooms that feel small and in need of renovation. Amenities are basic, and some essentials you would normally expect at this price point weren’t always available, which was disappointing. Service was also inconsistent. Housekeeping seemed irregular, and simple requests sometimes took longer than expected to be addressed. For a hotel with such a central position and premium rates, I expected a higher level of attention and comfort. Overall, the Hyatt Grand Central is practical if you need convenience and quick access to transportation, but if you are looking for a more polished, comfortable, and well-maintained hotel experience, you may find it falls short.

It's really worth the money to have such a newly decorated and thoughtful hotel in the old neighborhood. Because I arrived early, a handsome guy at the front desk who looked like a young Jordan was very kind and moved me to a high-rise room. You can see the Empire State Building outside the window! He also gave me a welcome drink and exchanged coins for it, but unfortunately I missed the time because I was out and came back.

Overall a very solid hotel with very welcoming and helpful front desk staff. The rooms are decently sized for NYC and well-appointed with the essentials. 

I was impressed when on at least one evening there was even turndown service.

The shower took a minute or so to have a proper water flow, though the pressure was never all that great.

I appreciate having the Nespresso machine and pods in the room.

I’m always glad to stay at this property especially because I very much like the location, not in the heart of a touristic area but still with many fantastic places to eat, excellent subway connectivity, and convenient shopping for the basics.

The hotel is beautifully designed and perfect for music lovers. Each room comes with a CD player, and guests can choose from a wide selection of CDs available at the lobby. There’s also a daily happy hour with complimentary snacks, food, and beverages. The hotel is clean, cozy, and just nice for two people. :)

Hotel is very close to the airport, so getting to and from was a breeze. Hotel seems a bit on the older side, but is quite self contained, with decent buffet breakfast. 

However, it is quite far from any amenities like supermarkets, any other food besides the hotel restaurants, and no sight seeing spots nor shopping without needing to travel further into the city.

It is great if you are there to visit the Skyfall Nightclub or attending an exhibition at the hall attached to the hotel, but otherwise, I would suggest a hotel closer to the main city areas.
