The hotel was clean and tidy. The front desk staff were incredibly patient and helped me print my travel tickets. The surrounding area is very convenient for dining, shopping, and transportation, with a supermarket nearby on the ground floor. The breakfast was rich and varied. Both the subway and bus stations are very close.

The hotel location is great, though it's a bit uphill. The service attitude is 100/100; communication was smooth with absolutely no issues. Housekeeping even came twice a day and proactively asked if there was anything that needed improvement or replenishment. The hotel breakfast is a full recommendation, a must-try!

This hotel is located in the heart of Kyoto's main business district. The rooms on the Higashiyama side offer a direct view of the Kamo River and the eastern mountains, making for an excellent location. The hygiene is impeccable, and the service is very attentive. What's particularly noteworthy is how surprisingly good value the breakfast is. For 3800 yen per person if purchased separately, the buffet offers a rich variety of delicious food. For those of us who often feel a lack of vegetables when eating Japanese cuisine, the unlimited salad bar here is an absolute delight. Several types of small fish and the tofu soup were also unexpectedly delicious. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Kyoto.

The hotel's service was truly excellent. A dedicated staff member escorted us to our room and patiently answered all our questions. The facilities are quite new for Kyoto, and the rooms are spacious. We had a large king-size bed (the kind made from two singles joined together) which was at least 2.4 meters wide. The hotel also has its own small garden, which was lovely for a stroll after breakfast. The location isn't far from anything; we mostly took taxis, which cost around 1100 yen per ride. The breakfast was a bit surprising – it was an American-style set menu. While it was well-prepared and refined, it felt a bit odd to have American breakfast at a Japanese hotel. One drawback was that I booked through Trip.com, and we were assigned a room on the third floor facing the road. We could hear car noise at night. Since we were only staying one night, we didn't ask to change rooms. The hotel's service was truly excellent. This hotel exudes an old-money charm. I booked a night at the Garden Hotel for a staycation, just to switch things up. It's a classic for a reason – the location is unbeatable; it's a leisurely 15-minute stroll back from the Shanghai Culture Square. Not to mention the stunning large lawn and the gorgeous Art Deco interiors. The service was excellent across the board, the pool was great for a swim, and breakfast offered the usual five-star Chinese and Western options, plus the Garden Hotel's special Japanese breakfast 😎. All in all, a very satisfying stay.
