My husband and I were together for the winter holiday. We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We can’t say enough the host or hospitable the premises were nicely appointed. It was located close to a beautiful botanical gardens as well as a beautiful college campus as well as stores and restaurants. We would highly recommend anyone who would stay in the area to stay at this place. Be aware that it is not a hot breakfast.

I don’t usually write reviews but this is such a beautiful place that I have decided to! I decided to stay one night here before travelling home back down South. After googling new places, I chose The Observatory based in the beautiful William Morris decor! It is really a stunning place to stay if you like good design and architecture. Aside from those already great things, the room was beautiful and comfortable with great colours and design elements. The sitting room or library has the most incredible selection of books that it is worth staying here for those and having a relaxing evening in reading. The artwork along the corridors and in the room is exceptional. If you are a tea or coffee drinker then you will love choice of great quality tea or coffee. If you are a product lover then you will love the freshness of the bathroom products. Last but not least, the staff are friendly and professional and offer some of the best customer service I have come across in recent years. I cannot wait to go on another trip and stay here again. Thank you for creating such a beautiful place in a magically calm area.

It seems that I accidentally booked the biggest room and left the front desk a little far. The last section of the road was going to climb the stairs. The waiter helped us to get a very heavy box. The kitchen facilities were all in place. Although we didn’t cook our own tea, we had a small table. Sitting on it is still very good parking is very convenient breakfast is also very delicious

The loveliest - particular thanks to Sam - front desk staff (and efficient too). Excellent location, only a short walk to the centre, and very pleasant if you go through the park. There is also a bus stop directly outside; it will take you to the centre, or go to the bus station and take a trip to Sumner or Lyttleton - both worth a visit. Rooms are spacious and clean, beds comfortable. For some reason though, complimentary water and crisps only appeared on our first day! Useful to have a guest laundry, but be warned there is only one machine for all floors... The kitchen area is fine, but not for those who want to cook up a storm - you need to ask for pots and pans. Not a problem for us as we preferred to eat out (try Rangoon Ruby nearby, good, if somewhat 'neutralized' flavours, as the waitress herself put it!) . Overall a really pleasant stay in a very interesting city.

The family of four people is suitable for the top floor suite. The living room is large and there is a balcony. Each room has a bathroom to ensure your personal privacy. There is an open kitchen in the living room, and there is no problem in burning Chinese food. The living room is floor-to-ceiling glass, which feels very transparent inside. The only drawback is that it may have just been renovated and has a paint smell. There is no single room downstairs, but this suite on the top floor has a taste.

I lived in Auckland a long time ago, but South Island landed for the first time this time. Speaking of Christchurch, there is only B & B! And the hotel and apartment are ignored and decided here. It was a really nice building as we looked at. All the interiors and the courtyard are cute. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Excited with a 4-year-old daughter and mother! The breakfast was delicious too. The bathroom is also elaborately decorated, but one difficulty. It was a bit of a unique floor plan, and the shower water flowed to the cupboards and toilets. The drainage of the drain is not bad, but it is probably due to the floor plan. Later, I'm full of family, so everyone is always busy and I don't want to catch anything. When I first arrived, nobody came out even if I pushed the bell, and when I was in trouble, a customer who went out happened to open the door and put it inside (lol) It was exactly the same when other guests came, just the entrance We stayed in the room next to us and opened the door (laughs) The owner family feels good, but it seems to be busy all day. I thought this price was a bit expensive for B & B per night, but I was satisfied. Finally, the security aspect is subtle. Christchurch is safe and should be fine, but if you are worried about it, we recommend a hotel.

On arrival we were met by the charming Kimberly our host. Although arriving before booking in time due to an early flight we were able store our luggage for the morning. The room was luxurious and very tastefully decorated to match the era of the building. The bed comfortable, the shower hot and altogether spotless. The full breakfast we had was deliciously cooked by George the chef. Being so close to everything by walking distance just topped it off. Clearly a jewel in the Crown. A lovely two bedroom apartment in a conveniently central location, just behind the Art Gallery and a short walk to the Cathedral. We arrived after hours on a Saturday and the Justin key app on the phone worked well. Took a bit of figuring out the system for accessing the building having worked out exactly where to park our car (the allocation of parks follows no set pattern that I could discern). Realised later it would have been easier to unpack bags direct from the carpark to level 3, perhaps some more specific instruction would be an improvement. Our park was on the roof so uncovered which is less than ideal in the rain but not a major issue. The apartment itself, two bedroomed on level 3 was spacious, modern and well equipped. It suited our needs perfectly. Clean and comfortable. I think the apartments are perhaps individually owned so perhaps we just struck it lucky with nice furniture and fit out. Apartment 3E is recommended to others for a comfortable stay in Christchurch.

Room was clean. Staff was very helpful. The only thing that i was concerned was room service. They knock on the door at 10am. We arrived late at the hotel after a 7 hours drive before checking in. We are staying at the hotel for 3 days. They should have checked that we are not yet gonna check out til the next day.

Situated within walking distance of hospital and lots of places to eat around as well. A mall is not far away. Prices to stay were excellent.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights just recently, first arrived at the hotel, the reception was polite enough but not as helpful as any front desk staff coud be. The room was clean and comfy, location was fantastic, environment was superb (quite, few hote guests). But somehow my wife lost her wedding ring from our room. We only noticed by the end of the day, and should have picked up earier. Mr. ************, the hotel manager, made it even worse from a travellers point of view. He has the worse attitude to the whole incident, instead of offering his empathy, he pushed responsibility back to the hotel guests who lost the wedding ring in his room at his hotel. His passive aggression is throughout all the poor google review! He reacted bluntly when questioned about CCTV other than the door access record he could provide immediately, being agreesive at his answer and attitude towards to someone who turned over the room to just look for the missing ring. He was not friendly, empathatic nor welcoming despit he is in hospitality industry. Im not blaming at anyone here or making any accusation on anyone but he as the hotel manager was the only one we could seek help for in a foreign country, and he expected us undedstanding how police and system worked here. To us, he made us sound like *****s and being forgetful on our own properties.

We arrived mid morning after a long flight. There was no room ready, and when I asked about a toilet I was told there were none there and sent on a hike to the middle of the botanic garden! If the rooms were not ready, I could have used a loo! If a room had been cleaned, we could have had it! I was so tired this welcome was not helpful. The room itself was adequate but very tired. You had to fish around for a cable to get the fridge to work, pull it in front of the fridge and plug it in above the work surface. Wouldn’t want to stay here again.
