1 Craven Hill Gardens

We have had the enormous misfortune to be allocated a room with the lift well running through it. The room is definitely 2 Star. You can touch the bed from the door, and the bed is pressed up against the wall so my daughter needs to crawl across the bed to get in and out. Sadly we are staying here 5 nights, and it is the smallest hotel room I have seen anywhere in the world. There is no fridge either. They have allowed me to keep milk in their bar fridge 4 levels down. There is no kettle, just a coffee machine. Honestly, it is the most ridiculous space I have ever seen. You would not want to be claustrophobic. The worse thing is I did not book this room, I booked one with a kitchenette and fridge. I'm sure the other rooms are fine, but there must be 3 or 4 tiny rooms with the lift well running though them.

I visited this weekend to run in the Royal Parks half marathon. This hotel was in a great location for this and was also reasonably priced. It was easy to get to and is only a short walk from Lancaster Gate and Queensway tube stations. The room was clean and modern and the kitchen facilities were great. There is a small Waitrose 5 mins walk away which is handy if you do wish to self cater. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place as a great base from which to explore London. Thank you for a very comfortable stay

Terrible service. Anti human, very scammish. Stay away, there are plenty of better hotels around this area. Took my money and refused to have a human interaction. All I got from them were generic, passive aggressive messages. KEEP YOUR DISTANCE

Absolute pain checking in as I didn’t have “ photo ID” which seems a bit ridiculous. Great location close to Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens however the room was absolutely tiny, the window was rotten and wouldn’t stay open, there were ear buds under the bed! Cold shower in the morning which I complained about but the manager dismissed it! Needed a more thorough clean too.. all in all not great and definitely not the 4* standard I’m used to in London.

We had a lovely stay at Craven Hill Gardens. Chose a basement room which was air conditioned on arrival and clean. Decor was really nice and although a little small we enjoyed our stay. We had everything we needed from and iron to drinks making facilities. Would definitely use again. 30 mins walk to Hyde park North Entrance. Great for concerts. Lovely quiet area to sleep in. I turned up to this place and was met by a receptionist who was inappropriately forward and rude from the first second. The place also had the decor and smell of a chip shop, which also surprised me. But here’s the main issue - It’s 2023 so I don’t tend to take my physical bank cards around with me all the time (and have never had a problem with this before) but they insisted on using a physical bank card for check-in, and went on to ask me to email photos of my passport and driving licence to a personal email address, and further to hand over £100 in cash as a deposit. Needless to say I was suspicious about this process, but without a physical card it seemed impossible to check in anyway. No option even to bank transfer or pay via ***********, and no concern at all from the reception staff. I was told I’d have to pick it up with *********** and was then completely ignored by the receptionist, I was forced to stand in the lobby as he played around on his screen pretending I wasn’t there at all while I, quite worried for my security and safety that night, tried to book another hotel. Luckily, there were quite a few cheaper, better equipped and less outdated options down the adjacent streets so I booked one of them (and checked in with no trouble at all). In raising the complaint with *********** the customer service team shared my concerns and issued a full refund along with their apologies on behalf of the hotel immediately, so the issue was resolved in my case. My concern would be for the safely of other customers if they were turned away at nighttime and couldn’t find or weren’t in a position to pay for alternative accommodation if in need Pretty poor business from every angle - I don’t imagine it’ll be around for long but I’d steer well clear of it until it goes under.

Clean and adequate for a couple of days in London, however rooms are small and quite cramped for two people and the bed although comfortable was not built for normal size people. Was very costly for the size and quality of the room

Best place in london , very quiet , réception easy , relax , for thé first Time in london , best place , big room with kitchen , métro station not far , food too , you got netflix too in the room 😎😎

Our son and his girlfriend were due to stay at the above property on the 16th-17th Dec.Unfortunately due to the rail strike they couldn’t get to London.My son chose a non refundable room,but we each rang the manager to see if we could just change the dates to after Christmas for another stay.The manager wouldn’t budge with this.I got in touch with *********** and they tried too because of the rail strike but he still wouldn’t budge.I thought this was a disgrace as this wasn’t there fault!!! I would avoid this place as the manager will just take your money and offer nothing in return.
