Outstanding
GGuest UserService was excellent here, each one of the workers was so friendly and gave us free fruit and snacks the day we arrived. They let us choose which room we wanted to stay in, and also organised pick ups to and from the hotel, which we really appreciate. View was lovely too and we were able to see the fireworks. Highly recommend staying here :)

GGuest UserThe hotel is very nice. Although it is relatively downstream, it is not a big deal for us who live in Chongqing. It is only half an hour to go upstream and is not very far. If it is really far, I strongly recommend that you take a taxi to Nanhua Bridge and walk down.
Hygiene: Hygiene is okay, but the bed sheets have a bit of a smell, which may be due to the previous guest smoking, but it's okay that we brought our own disposable quilt covers.
Service: The service is very nice, including pick-up and drop-off, which is very convenient.
It is also recommended here that if you want to take pictures, you can choose a place downstream where the price is cheaper and more affordable.
YYehYehYeh葉子We had the best service of our trip at this hotel- they truly go beyond and above. It was only a 15min Didi from the train station, also the bus shuttle from HSR to the city is right in front of the hotel. The location is perfectly situated at one side of the main bridge, but a nice 5min stroll away such that you are away from the noise on the main ***** (in front of the river). Also, no mosquitoes. We initially booked a riverfront hotel but I am SO glad that we changed to this hotel after actually walking the whole tourist ***** on foot. Legit the cobblestones near the river are terrible, and cars can’t get in so it’d have been a nightmare.
Next, Xiao Dai (小代) who helped us and the manager were all so sweet. 小代answered all our WeChat questions extremely promptly (literally 1-2mins), and when we asked about the free laundry self use machine onsite, she offered to have us leave it in our room and do it for us so we could go out and explore. I thought this was truly above and beyond- she picked the clothes up from our room, washed them (separately as well for colours and whites), hung them and sent us a photo, dried them and returned them to us folded and freshly laundered. We were simply floored by this level of service. They are so so so kind and I can’t recommend this hotel enough for their kindness and eagerness to ensure your comfort during your stay.
We stayed on the 7th floor in a suite and it was very comfortable- the bed itself and pillows were just right. Sheets felt high quality, pillows not too stiff and high, duvet was fluffy and nice. I liked that the toilet is separated from the shower and vanity- the soft but bright filtered lighting for the bathroom vanity was amazing for getting ready (for the girls who are sick of hotels with dark lighting and can’t do their make up). The room was spacious and although some aspects were a bit outdated, it was clean large and comfortable - we were so happy with our room.
They also gave our group of 3 girls 4 room cards which allows for each card to breakfast. The breakfast ayis were so nice and made eggs freshly your way when asked. The cucumber and radish pickles were yummy and we really liked the corn soup and congee as well as all the vegetable dishes. The selection was good for us, as we like clean and simple, easy to digest and nutritious foods in the morning.
Oh yeah they also sent us to the HSR on check out without charge, in the hotel’s car. They were so prompt in getting us to the HSR and the driver was really considerate, safe and careful. Literally the most calm drive we’ve experienced in China.
Side note- the gym is massive and looks largely unused but the equipment is good, there are weights and cables and everything. There’s also a pool table and table tennis. A yoga room complete with a good amount of gear and mats.
PPeng’sI had a wonderful stay at the Fenghuang Best River Hotel and would recommend it to anyone! From the start of my arrival, the service from the receptionist was impeccable, where she explained how to arrive at the accom as it was slightly confusing due to the lack of Didis. Rooms were extremely clean and spacious, and the receptionist was extremely enthusiastic in giving us a guided itinerary and map for the area. The view from the balcony views were spectacular and rivalled the ones on the ground level. Would recommend to anyone looking for a stay located in the heart of the action, and as a bonus for any cat lovers there are 2 cats to play with in the lobby :D
SShane CanadianGood location if you want to be near the ancient town, but in a quiet spot. The main bus stop is right outside the hotel and the ancient town is about a two minute walk. Room is large and modern and bed is comfortable. You won't have much of a view on the backside of the hotel, and the front is likely to be a bit noisy with the bus stop during the day and the Aunties dancing in the square in the evening. It was nice that they gave a parting gift of local delicacies when we checked out.
A few improvements needed:
1. Hooks, or hanging racks, for towels at the shower and the sink. There is no way to dry a towel after a shower.
2. Wash cloth. For a nice hotel, a wash cloth (or face cloth) should be provided. They are not expensive.
3. The water in the shower will be affected by the toilet flushing and the sink faucet. It will get very hot. Quite a surprise given that this is a new hotel.
4. Car service, especially to the train station. We asked the front desk to call us a taxi. Their response was to walk us to the main road, which is likely 300 to 400 metres. Not ideal with two suitcases and several bags of merchandise. It also took some time to get a taxi, which made us start to worry that we might not arrive in time for our train. Note that when you arrive at the drop off are for the train station, it is quite a long walk across a square to the station itself. Be sure to leave an extra 5 minutes for this.
5. Communication. When communicating with the hotel prior to arrival, we asked for a room on the top floor, which is the 5th floor. We were assured this would be arranged. However, on arriving at the hotel, we were initially assigned a room on the 4th floor. We mentioned the earlier conversation and were initially told there were no rooms available on the 5th floor. It wasn't until another attendant arrived, and seemed to check a chat history on the computer, that we were given a room on the 5th floor.
6. Sound insulation. While the room is quiet, the noise from the hallway can be easily heard due to poor insulation around the doors.
All in all a good stay but some improvements needed.
PPaowoahTraveled in December, it was nice for us as there wasn’t a lot of people. Really easy to communicate with them through Wechat. They got us a car for train station pick up and drop off. Upon arriving, someone came out to get us. It’s a flight of stairs down first (they offer to help with luggage) but would say to pack light because we were struggling. It’s a couple minutes walk to the place, I believe they have two, so depends which one they bring you to?
We got the connecting rooms via balcony. It was nice because it was two rooms and each room had its own bathroom. We were able to see the water bridge (I believe) right outside the balcony which was nice. Good thing we were just on the first floor so with our luggages, stairs wasn’t too bad. Since it was not peak season, even with the bar nearby, it was not too loud for us at night. There’s some restaurants and photoshoot shops nearby as well. We did the photoshoot store right next to this stay and it was just ok for reference, feel like you can get cheaper elsewhere.
Everything was pretty clean but there were some issues. Since it was December, it was cold. And when we first arrived, there was no hot water (just all freezing cold water). They said water heater was just cleaned or something when I asked. They said hot water should be back at night but our water when we showered wasn’t too promising. And then the heater was barely warming up the room so we were basically freezing. We took out all our jackets and all and we were still cold. Our room door to the balcony window was also broken which I was frustrated at first since it was cold, no hot water, heater not working, cold air blowing in. They eventually fixed it and I did appreciate the lady giving us portable heaters for the room to use.
Overall, I think it’s not a bad place.
GGuest UserThe service of this hotel is pretty good. The hotel will arrange for someone to pick you up from the train station and send you back when you are leaving. The lady at the front desk is very friendly.
Hotel room is not big but it's functional. Certain parts of the room are slightly worn out. But for the price it's not too bad.
There's a lift in the hotel and cars can go directly to the front door of this hotel so you don't have to carry your luggages and drag them in the town.
About 10-15mins walk to the river.
Overall pretty nice stay.
GGuest UserThe style of the room is what I like very much. At first I was afraid that it would be different from the pictures, but I was very satisfied after I arrived. The receptionist was also very enthusiastic. She picked us up at the parking lot, carried our luggage, and held my child. Seeing that she was a girl, I felt embarrassed. I have to give her a thumbs up. After arriving at the inn, the people in the store were also very enthusiastic. It was the most comfortable time I felt in so many trips. Their home is also close to the waterfall, and it is convenient to see the scenery. Next time I bring my family to stay at their home, the scenery here is beautiful and the people are kind. A perfect trip......

SSusanAll excellent in terms of service, from pick up at train station to hotel, especially the 2 pretty young ladies helping us to carry our heavy luggages to the hotel, really appreciate! :)
The view from this room is FANTASTIC!! 👍
Just a feedback: will be good to have frosted film on the shower & toilet glass doors instead of all see through glass doors... 😅
Thank you for the enjoyable stay at Furong Zhen

Very Good
IibankerUnless your absolutely want the waterfall view in your room, not really worth 200$ cad. Hotel is at the end of a commercial street, so your luggage wheels need to be sturdy. Be ready to bring it down a couple of flights of stairs as well. The room is on the smaller side with a pretty typical hard mattress (even king size). The balcony door is just a slab of wood with not much insulation, so the humidity and loud noise come in quite easily. Breakfast is average with local food served on the second floor (reception is fourth) outside.
