Salaya Beach Houses

Sorry for the long review, the resort could not be described in a few words as it is a very WONDERFUL place to stay. This is the 4th time we have stayed here in a matter of every 3 years. Unlike other high-end resorts, Salaya never seem to age in terms of building structure, quality facilities and services, cleanliness, and most importantly the courteousness of the officers staff. The rooms are SOOOO spacious and VEEERRYYY CLEAN. You would at times feel not wanting to go out of their rooms. When you go out, the place is nature themed and truly feels like paradise!!! And outside… EVERYTHING IS SO CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEA … the grounds, the pool, the resto, the poolside bar, and the beach front Special mention to Ms Carol and Mr Narciso who are heading the resort and so hospitable… i know they have done so much work and close supervision to maintain the top-notch, sterling and first rate over-all quality of Salaya. For those who are sensitive to how resort personnel interacts with guests, this is not an overstatement… the personnel from front desk, resto, housekeeping, including security guards are so very courteous, efficient, kind and very respectful. Even when you just happen to pass by one of the personnel while walking around, they take time to greet you as you pass by them. This is not true in other resorts… thus very good training Salaya 👍🏻 One would feel so much peace, fun, relaxed, joyful and makes you “hate” to check-out and leave the resort.

This place is magic on earth. Salaya is not just a hotel/guest house - the ambiance and feel is like no other place we have stayed in the Philippines. All the staff were incredibly welcoming and passionate about the property and made sure we had an experience to remember. The gardens and pool area is so tranquil, with all rooms having a beautiful view of the sea. We stayed in Porcelain which was a two bed apartment - our family was 2 adults and 3 children - we had plenty of space. The diving is like no other. The service from the initial briefing and getting kitted up to getting out of the sea after a dive to warm towels (!) is first class. We literally didn’t lift a finger (we felt incredibly spoilt!). We enjoyed exquisite drinks and food on board, and snorkellers in our party were welcome with reefs we dived at were also catered to them. We dived on three days of our stay with our Junior Open water qualified children (but there is an opportunity to do Discover Scuba Diving if you are not qualified). We thoroughly recommend the day trip to Apo Island - turtles guaranteed, a beautiful crossing and wonderful staff on board to cater for your every wish. A special shout out to Jomer and Joel who were incredibly kind and patient with our young divers (aged 10 and 11) giving them confidence to experience some incredible dive sites. Salaya is heaven on earth, and what has been created here is incredible. There is nothing they haven’t thought of to make your holiday perfect. We are already saving for our return trip.

Salaya Resort was great. Service was impeccable. Food at their restaurant exceeded our expectations. Everything was expertly prepared and delicious, even better than the food at many 5 star resorts that we've tried. Kudos to the chef. Massage at the spa and yoga with Lino was excellent.

The property and staff at Salaya are absolutely amazing. Everything has exceeded my expectations including the hospitality of the staff, the diving, the incredible food and facilities. The Marc van der Poel and his dive staff are super knowledgeable and ensure that all technical requirements are met so that all you are responsible for is creating memories that will last a lifetime. We had a dive group of 12 divers and everything about the resort exceeded our expectations. It all started with the staff, they made the stay. From Marc and Carol to everyone on the team, they couldn’t have been more friendly or caring. It was my first time “muck diving” and I fell in love with it. We were even lucky enough to see a whale shark on our safety stop after one of our coastal dives. The rooms were very well appointed, the beds comfortable and the amount of time put into thinking about the needs of each guest was obvious. Can’t recommend highly enough and am so excited to return.

The hotel has a well maintained and beautiful garden with long stretched swimming pool. The modern styled rooms have a good roominess, are very proper , daily checked and are equipped with a very well running ACs. The poolbar and the restaurant serve very good drinks and very good delicacy food for breakfast, lunch and dinner……The happy hour is recommended….😀 For diving and help you will find a PADI diving center there and for snorkeling is a beautiful house reef directly in front of the hotel. Overall the staff is very friendly and service oriented and I will come back for sure.

I recently spent a couple weeks at Salaya Beach Houses for a diving vacation with a group of friends. This was my first time to the Philippines. My experience with Salaya Beach Houses was above and beyond in every way! Whether you are interested in diving, underwater photography, hiking, snorkeling, paddle boarding or just relaxing by the pool reading your favorite book Salaya Beach Houses is provides it all. It is truly a piece of paradise on the water. Traveling abroad to new locations, a few of my common concerns are safe drinking water sources, safe food and personal safety. Hands down Salaya Beach Houses has attention to the details which made my entire stay one of my best vacation experiences. The resort was able to provide personal connecting services at the airport in Manila between terminals. This was great as changing terminals at that airport can be difficult. Once in Dumaguete City the resort is abut a 30min car ride. The resort itself is beautifully designed and feels very private. The grounds and beach houses are meticulously cleaned and maintained. The resort has it’s own all encompassing water treatment system which means you can seriously drink safe water straight from the kitchen or bathroom sink taps! The resort is set up as an all inclusive dining experience. I eat gluten/wheat free which is always challenging and limits my eating options. Not only are the menu options plentiful and the portions generous but the chef and staff went above and beyond to provided endless safe gluten/wheat free options during my stay. Seriously, some of the best GF food and deserts I’ve ever had in my life! Our group was big enough they made a “cake of the day” and most of them were GF. You can also get food and drinks at the beach side bar. They also have a local band play live music by the pool on Saturday evenings. The entire staff made efforts to know each of us by name, were easily available and made us feel very welcome. Security guards are on duty 24hrs a day so I felt very safe during the entire stay. I stayed in the “Seahorse” house. It was a 3 bed, 2 bathroom, full kitchen with a living and dining room with a balcony facing the beach. The space built into the houses are generous and everything was kept very clean and comfortable. There are very few dishes provided for the kitchen but with the amazing and generous food options you’ll not want to waste your time cooking for yourself! The beach houses are decorated with fresh flowers, actual local dive photos taken by one of the owners and they even do a turn down service each night leaving tiny chocolate treats, making your bed and closing all of the window shades. The spa provides a multitude of options. The spa rooms and area were designed with Koi fish pond “water way” along the wall through each room.
