Grand Hotel Opduin
4.2/530 Reviews
We visited Texel between 16th and 19th July 2022 staying at the Grand Hotel Opduin and absolutely loved the place. Fantastic location just between the main town centre and the beach nestled against the beautiful dunes. Expect to see rabbits and pheasants from your bedroom window and the most incredible sunsets. We seriously could not fault this hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, light, well-furnished and quiet. The breakfast is absolutely delicious with lots of choice. The staff are welcoming, kind and helpful. Texel and De Koog itself are stunning - we truly had a magical time and would have happily stayed another few days. Don't forget to rent bicycles (which can be done directly through the hotel in advance of your stay). We love, love, loved it and can't wait to come back!
Fletcher Hotel - Restaurant de Cooghen
3.4/553 Reviews
I stayed here many times last 3 years and it is one of my favourite hotels only because of the location. In the mainstreet of De Koog, around the corner of the beach. These past years without any renovations makes the rooms and hotel warnout and a step back in time. Pro’s: - location, superb! - Breakfast, pretty good for a 3 star hotel Con’s: - Rooms are old and warnout. - Bathrooms are old and warnout. - No customer service of whatsoever As a regular no recognised, no welcome back. Nobody cares how your day was, nobody asked if your stay is nice. Even when you enter, nobody is greeting you first. On top of all, the hotel is asking for a donation because of the Covid 19 situation. I think, as a guest who wants to visit you in this situation, it is a small effort to be friendly and nice to your customers. Unfriendly and asking for a donation is pretty rude! Also as restaurants and bars are closed, it is not allowed to bring food yourselves or to order from restaurants nearby. As a part of the community and everybody struggles it is pretty rude to customers and to your colleagues in the same town to place a sign like this in the room. As I mentioned, your stay is “doable” but only if you are outside the whole day and don’t mind a warnout room. When prices are high and comparable with other hotels, I would recommend to choose another hotel.
