Hotels near Tiger Leaping Gorge in Diqing

The location was really breathtaking, simply wonderful. The room was cleand and cozy (even had electric blankets to keep you warm in place of air conditioning!) and restaurant served tasty, Chinese dishes in good prices. Overall, the experience - together with the hike - was very nice but it has to be noted that in case of the simplest no-bathroom room, the shared public toilet and bathroom is quite a disgusting experience. We've seen a lot and this one 'topped' it all.

The Yachajiao Manor was truly exceptional. We stayed here after hiking the first part of Tiger Leaping Gorge. The room was beautiful and modern. The heated floors kept the room at the perfect temperature in the cold winter. The bathroom had a very fancy toilet and shower with hot water 24 hours. The beds were super comfortable. The deck had a bathtub on it where the view was private and so beautiful. You could see all the stars at night and it was very peaceful. We ate dinner here and the food was wonderful, though we had read different. It was just right after a hike. The next day they offered a simple breakfast that also was super filling for our day 2 hike. I highly recommend this place. It was a treat in the middle of a long hike.

The room is well soundproofed and has a great view. It has electric blankets, air conditioning, and a projector. It is very clean. It is also good to have a viewing balcony on the top floor (the blue glass floor will invisibly light up the face, which is very Suitable for taking pictures), the food is also very good, cost-effective and delicious. After the meal, you can warm up by the fire in the lobby (there is a fireplace). The boss is from Chongqing, he is honest and upright, and he upgraded the room for free for us Wanzhou fellows. I think it is more comfortable than half way, and you can watch the sunset over Jinshan Mountain in the afternoon, and the sun shines behind Jinshan Mountain in the morning. The overall layout of the house is like a courtyard, and the guest room building is higher. The inn (B&B) is located halfway up the Haba Snow Mountain, with the middle section of Tiger Leaping Gorge at its feet and a 10-minute drive from the Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area. The inn is the house of a local fellow, with a total of 10 guest rooms on two floors. The guest rooms include (triple room, double room, double bed room). There is a terrace on the roof where you can drink tea and barbecue. From March to May, you can sit on the roof and watch The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain opposite are certainly beautiful, but there is no snow on the peaks in summer from June to September and are shrouded in clouds and mist during the rainy season, so the scenery during this period is slightly compromised. The rooms in the inn are clean and tidy. The rooms on the second floor can see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Jinsha River Grand Canyon through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Since it was the rainy season when I went there, the mountainous area was relatively humid. Since the inn is located halfway up the mountain, it is very quiet and the air is very good. Since it is located in the canyon area and the altitude is not high, the temperature in summer is very pleasant. The room supplies 24-hour hot water with warm water temperature. The lighting in the room is dim, so it is recommended to add a desk lamp for travelers who like to read. Since we were traveling with two elderly people on this trip, the female boss upgraded us from a double room on the first floor to a double room on the second floor, which was great👍. The inn provides three meals, all of which need to be paid a la carte. Just like ordinary farmhouses, breakfast is 15 yuan for a bowl of meat and rice noodles (noodles), and an omelette is 4 yuan. Transportation: As mentioned above, it is in the canyon area between two snow-capped mountains, so there are certain safety risks when going there in the rainy season. The Jinsha River Tiger Leaping Gorge canyon is divided into upper, middle and lower levels. Among the three sections, the middle and lower sections are very steep, rugged, and the roads are narrow. The Jinsha River Canyon section is full of collapsed houses and rocks during the rainy season, and the precipitousness is far more than 318 (see the picture for details). Therefore, it is strongly not recommended that you go directly from Lugu Lake during the rainy season. The shortcut (only 188 kilometers) is from the East Ring Road under Tiger Leaping in Tiger Leaping, because you may be risking the safety of your family. To get to the hotel, this section of the road has more than 10 180-degree turning bays with a slope of more than 25 degrees. The road is now a cement road with guardrails, with an average width of 3.5-4 meters, and a 7.5-meter corner. The 17-seat Iveco minibus and The following cars can pass, but they need to back up and turn around at the corners. It is not recommended for RVs and mini-vehicles with low horsepower to go on this road. They may not have enough horsepower to go up the corners and risk slipping. Finally, let me talk about the Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area, which is indeed spectacular during the summer water closure period. Summer is the most worthwhile attraction in Shangri-La!

The decoration of the hotel is very modern, the courtyard is beautiful, the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable, and most importantly, the scenery is super beautiful, even more beautiful than halfway! The view of the snow-capped mountains from the rooftop is so beautiful! The boss was super nice and was very helpful in taking photos. He told us in detail how to make our trip more convenient. Good hotel for staying overnight before going for tiger leaping gorge hike. Very clean. Despite close to road to can get the room at the back which is very quiet and even has balcony. We stored our luggage there and come back in 2 days to pick it up without a fee.

Ideal location for hikers taking on the Tiger Leaping Gorge. The location of the hotel is different from the map location on Trip.com. It's found about 1.5 hrs into the start of the hike, but you can drive direct to the guesthouse too

First off: This is known as Judy's in the gorge and has been for years. Not sure why they've renamed it on here but in the gorge look for Judys. Stayed here at Halfway were renovating their balcony rooms. They've recently added new up market rooms with balconies and bathtubs. The rooms are very nice however the balcony is unfortunately somewhat ruined by the new hotel being built directly in front. A fact that isn't noticable on their official photos. My booking also said something about meals included but there no mention of this and we paid for breakfast so perhaps that needs clarifying. Overall the hotel has very nice rooms (and more basic rooms of you prefer) but we didn't have dinner here as we preferred to spend our evening on the rooftop at Halfway.

This B&B must be ranked number one in Tiger Leaping Gorge! I looked at a lot about the accommodation environment and took a quick look at it. Sure enough, there is no seller’s show or buyer’s show. It can be said that the pictures are not as beautiful as the real scene! The two bosses are very down-to-earth people. It can be said that they are working very hard on this B&B. Unfortunately, they don’t know how to market it and have too little exposure. But consumers must tell the truth. It’s really great. The food, accommodation and transportation services are not even mentioned! I met many like-minded friends here. It was a very happy trip. I will come again if I have the opportunity!

If you didn’t stay at Joy’s while hiking the Tiger Leaping Gorge you completely missed out on seeing one of the best views, straight from the bedroom. After walking for 22km, I was almost about to stay at Tina’s but I got put off by how commercial it is. So glad I made the decision to continue walking until I found Joy’s. It’s only an extra 20-30 min walk away from Tina’s and 100% worth the extra effort (note, the location on Trip.com is a little bit off, the guesthouse is directly opposite Tibetan Guesthouse in Walnut Garden). The room is very spacious, quiet and clean/tidy and has all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. The family who run it are nice and welcoming, and they cook delicious food in the restaurant (which you can enjoy with the view). Wished I stayed for longer!
