The apartments are ideally located just off the main street. If one arrives at Pile Gate there are minimal stairs to deal with which is a huge plus plus in the old town. Our apartment was on the first floor and featured high ceilings, a combined kitchen/dining/living room and separate bedroom. It was well appointed and attractive designed; we liked the combination of old world charm and modern conveniences. The staff, Carmen and Marko, were pleasant and helpful. Note that this is not a hotel and so they are not on site during evening hours, however they were responsive to email. The bed was decent but a bit soft for our liking. While the air conditioner provided some ambient noise, the apartment overlooks a restaurant in the alley and the street noise kept us awake. I suspect this is a common issue with old buildings and lower level apartments throughout the old town. Breakfast was included at Dalmatino's on the next street over. Our first hot breakfast at the restaurant was tasty and generous However, on our second day we took a packed breakfast due to a very early flight. The breakfast included juice boxes, fruit, sliced bread and packets of nutella, jam, cheese and butter but no napkins or plastic utensils. A pre-made cheese sandwich or croissant, fruit and a hard boiled egg would have been a much better bet in terms of taste and ease. Dubrovnik is expensive. The nightly rate for the apartment exceeded that of most of our hotels throughout two weeks in Croatia. We enjoyed the proximity to all the important landmarks for our first visit to Dubrovnik. On a subsequent visit I would consider booking a hotel outside the old town to enjoy more amenities for the price. Top must do's - a tour (Vlaho - Guru Walks), walking the walls at 8 am, a cable car to take advantage of sunset and a day at Lokrum Island. Fantastic!

Hamlet Bed & Breakfast

Dubrovnik|0.05km from Stradun

It took a long time to comment, the hotel is a bit like the nature of the hotel, in the ancient city of Dubrovnik, very convenient for tourists. The boss is a handsome guy in Croatia, the person is very nice and worth recommending.

What a beautiful little room in the heart of Old Town I’m Dubrovnik. I was a quick walk to everything. Every little detail was perfect. My stay started by meeting Aleta at check in. She was kind, funny and had great knowledge of the city and recommendations for me. The directions from check in to my little room were easy to follow. The room was up about 5 flights of stone stairs around the corner. The room was perfect, the amenities were great, everything was clean. And the check out experience was again perfect. They held my bags after check out so I could do a final kayaking tour. Aleta was there again when I was leaving and she went above and beyond again. They let me freshen up and shower they have for guests after check out, which was a great perk. The hotel was perfect and I can’t say enough good things about Aleta… she made my stay in Dubrovnik better with her kindness and recommendations. Thank you so much! I’ll be back.

There are 3 studio apartments just off the main ***** of old town (Stradun), we were in ‘Orlando’ on the 3rd floor. As per other reviews there is a lot of stairs if you have an issue with your legs or health be aware. Dubrovnik old city is pedestrian only so it’s a walking holiday break/ plus many flights of stairs to the room. But you’ve been warned ! The studio is beautiful and spacious not at all cramped. Wifi and tv worked well. Shower and hot towel rail worked well. Iron in the corridor and washing machine in the bathroom (no dryer but heated towel rail works well). Full length mirror was lovely good space for trying on clothes make up hair etc. With a plug there too. Bed comfortable and amble room for hangers and storage. Kitchen equipment provided including microwave, nespresso machine kettle. I would recommend if the owner could provide a welcoming bottle of water on arrival. We stayed in 5 other location/ apartments in Croatia and this was the only one which didn’t provide a complimentary bottle of water. Location was slap bang in the old town but old town is small so no matter where you stay in old town you would be slap bang where you need to be. Check out @lucyamberparsons Instagram to check out videos and photos of this and you more of Croatia in my highlights.
