Our room was very nice, clean and large. The location of the hotel with the private beach was of course the absolute highlight. The staff was super friendly. Kayaks etc. could be borrowed for free, which is also a big plus. Unfortunately, there was only boiled coffee at breakfast, you had to pay extra for the rest - I find it really sad at the price. Likewise, the staff is sometimes very slow. When I sit alone at the pool bar and have to wait 15 minutes for my coke + have to point it out again, it's really a shame.

The environment is very beautiful, the rooms are large, and the facilities are very user-friendly. For example, there is a flushing faucet at the door of the room, so you can rinse the sand off your feet before entering the house. The service is particularly good, every waiter you meet will greet you warmly. Pay attention to needs and provide services at all times while eating. The only downside is that the food in the restaurant is on the salty side. The three dishes I ordered for dinner were all very salty, and all the salty foods at breakfast were also very salty!

The hotel is behind a mountain, which means the only way in and out is with their transfers in 4x4, that are absurdly expensive. There is a 3 min path through the forest to a point where a tricycle can pick you up, but you need to call them ahead. The description in booking is not accurate, there is no 6 min walking to el nido, it is more 15 min tricycle + 3 min walking. I would have loved to know this in advance, we travel with kids and would have gone for an easier option. The premium villas are up the mountain, you need to go by funicular, which sometimes is not working due to maintenance issues, then you have to get a car up to your villa, both things you should plan ahead, the funicular operator is not always there, neither the cars. Also the funicular is not working early in the morning. The breakfast is supposed to start at 6 am, which is a reasonable hour if you are planning to go to a tour, but the 3 days that we went at that time, not everything was ready. They picked us up from the airport with a pick up, the luggage was behind in the open and arrived completely covered in dust, the butler tried to clean it but it wasn’t easy. There are several things in the villa that weren’t working properly, like hair dryer, really bad smell in the toilet, dirt in the curtains… but those were small issues, the main issue we had is that in our last night our rooms were full of bugs, they were everywhere and it was impossible to sleep like that with bugs crawling over us, so we moved to a much smaller villa down the mountain and they gave us a discount due to the downgrade. The discount was nice and the staff did their best with the situation, but we lost more than 1 hour trying to kill the bugs to sleep there and also in the morning we had to review all the clothes in the luggage and remove the dead bugs after the fumigation. The pool toilets are out of order and you need to go to a first floor. In summary I don’t think the above is acceptable in a 5 starts hotel with the price they have. The tours were absurdly expensive, but I can’t tell if they were nice because we outsourced.

The resort is in a great location with a small but quiet beach and a nice house reef outside. Beware that some units require walking up a lot of steps and the ones set away from the beach have a lot of mosquitoes around. The staff are super friendly and nice although the service of the hotel could be more attentive i.e when lying on the beach you don’t get asked if you want drinks. Room cleaning was only done once in our 7 day stay and only because we asked for it. Towels are not automatically offered to beach goers all the time. The restaurant is pretty slow with almost an hour for food to arrive sometimes. The food itself can be nice depending on what you order. Some is pretty good actually…others a bit average. Pricewise, this isn’t a cheap hotel and I feel that if you compare the price to resorts in other tropical beach locations around the world, you get much better service in other places like Sheratons, Marriotts and Hiltons etc. that said, overall I would still recommend Matinloc for the great beach and reef.

A real mixed bag here, the location is good and the rooms are large, clean, beds comfortable and the ac works well. The staff are friendly. Those are the positives. The food, breakfast in particular is atrocious for a hotel in this price range the restaurant staff idle about playing on their phones. The rooms were cleaned very late in the day on several occasions. The internet is weak from the rooms.Whilst the front desk staff are friendly they are pretty clueless and on wanting to escalate certain issues I am told that the management are based in Puerto Princessa. With good management and a complete overhaul of the menu and some internet boosters this could be a great hotel.

I stayed at this hostel 4 nights on 12 bed room. Good place to party, nice view and far from town. You must take a tricycle or rent a motorbike. Wifi not so good. there is no wifi inside the room and no line connection. They have island hopping tour, van transport etc. Also have restaurant down there. Overall i will stay here just for sleep.

It is a hotel very close to the beach and close to the excursions that leave from the port, many places to dine, nice pool. I had problems when I arrived with the internet connection, TV working badly, hot water, etc; finally, due to insistence, they upgraded me to a bigger room but with cleaning and maintenance problems as well. Forgettable breakfast. I think it is a hotel with great potential due to its location and facilities, but they should pay attention to the details of cleaning, maintenance and so on, instead of naming everything in the hotel (even the toilet tank cover), manage it with Someone who has been in a large hotel chain to see all the shortcomings as today it seems to be run by families with no experience in hotel quality.

Beach front hotel but this isn’t a beach to layout on. It’s where the boats dock but farther down the shore. Very pretty views so I can’t complain. Location was perfect. It was a quick walk to the madness but far enough to be able to sleep at night. Staff helped us with tuk tuks and let us use their phone as we didn’t have calling available. We stayed 4 nights? We didn’t ask for room service during our stay. One thing not unique to this hotel that I personally am not fond of is the lack of bedding. All the small hotels just have a sheet. For me, I don’t care if it’s 100 degrees, I need a blanket on top of me! I knew this before traveling so I brought my travel airplane blanket but still not big/thick enough. Anyway, nice hotel and great location. Breakfast included was typical pancake, toast, fruit, egg, and a few Asian dishes. Can’t complain about being fed.

The environment is beautiful, quiet, suitable for vacation, and there are various activities to participate in. The room is not large, basically there is no network signal, it is not suitable for mobile phones, the TV is not good, and it is suitable for the waves every day. Dining is ok, in general, lunch & dinner is only drunk with free white water. Although the juice and soft drink are not too expensive, but the price is more than 3,000 a night, the drinks are still a bit pit! The beach of the hotel can't be launched into the water. There are good beaches by boat, and there are no people, so most of the photos I upload are beaches that go to sea.

We had the most amazing stay at Mahogany Resort. It’s in such a stunning spot, and the pool is nice and refreshing with a beautiful view to the sea. Great spot for a sunset. The food was the best we have had in El Nido. We had dinner at their restaurant by the beach and the food was faultless, with impeccable service. In the morning we had their special Mahogany Wrap (I can’t recall the name) and it was delicious. We didn’t want to leave. Would definitely come back next time we visit El Nido. The staff also helped me surprise my boyfriend for his birthday. Such a great stay, 5 stars doesn’t do it justice!

Still have some things to work on.. They didn’t started on top when our pre-booked shuttle didn’t showed up at airport. Waited an hour until a security guard at the airport helped us order a tricycle. Some misunderstanding between booking office and the reception was the answer, but they paid for our tricycle. It was a nice and modern hotel. Not a resort for pool relaxing because they only have few sun beds and always occupied. Even towels were few. Always in laundry was the answer. The rooms were tiny and dark. Always humid and moist. All our clothes and even bed linens felt wet. The food was tasty and good. But as in many places the service isn’t very fast. Long waiting times, from order to waiting even if they weren’t crowded. They were really keen on the allergies and made some offer to try to fix things. Even if they had spring rolls med of rice paper on the menu, of course the rice paper were out of stock they didn’t got new for our whole stay. As much others. No Cola Zero. Out of French fries and so on. They’re not quick to clean used glasses around pool area. Our tv didn’t work. They had not a great interest in trying to make it work. Our door lock same thing.. Good thing is the free shuttle to ElNido, LioBeach and the airport. Upon checkout I got the question how the stay was, my hesitation in answer and that it didn’t fulfill my expectations I didn’t got any reaction or questions how they could have done better. Don’t ask the question if you don’t want the answer.

We booked this place for a resort that we can unwind in. We aren’t ones to complain so please read this review and pick another place. El Nido is beautiful and there are some lovely resorts and accomodation around. The Orange Pearl is not this. The service is terrible. The manager is rude and doesn’t help with anything at all, even just asking for clean sheets and towels after our room wasn’t serviced like he said it would be multiple times. Music starts blaring from 7am so no relaxing at all. This is for their breakfast which is poor to say the least as we chose not to eat there after trying it on the first day. The restaurant is nothing great either The best part about the room is the aircon which works well. We are the closest room to the main reception area and we don’t get any wifi and neither do any of the other rooms. There is no coverage in any of the rooms either. The bathroom smells like sewage and the drains don’t work so prepare for the bathroom to flood when you shower. The location is right on the beach which is lovely but it also means you sit on your small balcony and get harassed by people selling things whenever you’re outside of your room which we understand around town but it’s a pain when you’re trying to read or relax. Overall this place is just not like some of the other places around the Phillipines we have stayed and so I’d recommend to stay away from it.

The Karuna resort is a hillside paradise. We loved everything about the resort. The location was central and the views were absolutely stunning. Warning: there are quite a few steep hills and stairs all around the resort. You'll definitely get your workout here, but its so worth it. Our joglo was perfect. Clean and well appointed with modern amenities including comfortable beds, flatscreen TV with Netflix, fast wifi, and AC. There was plenty of room for our family of 3, along with a kitchen and large wraparound deck with views of the bay. It felt like our home away from home. We spent a lot of time at the pool, restaurant, and bar, which happened to be our favorite spots at the resort. The bar has a great happy hour and the restaurant has an extensive menu with lots of variety. One of the best things about Karuna is the staff. Lester, Sarifa, Tiffany, Prince, and Ellen were excellent hosts. They made our stay so wonderful, which made it hard to say goodbye!

Lovely and friendly staff, they were very helpful on answering questions and providing information about tours/ transport. I stayed in the private 6 bed room, it was very cosy and stuffy, each bed had its own fan but it wasn't enough cold air for the whole night. Each bed had a socket and a small cupboard to place your luggage, you might want to bring your own lock. The bed were a good size and soft. The restaurant had good food but a little pricey. Every night there is an event going on and music, luckily you don't hear it in the rooms. The bathroom/ shower are was clean and spacious, bring your own towel. One the best things about the Hostel is it has the best beach view, you only have to walk 2 mins and the sea is right there. However, to get to the hostel you have to walk through the sand to arrive there, if you have a suitcase be ready to carry it across the sand (backpack is easier). Overall, a lovely place to enjoy and relax for a beach holiday. Sand, sea and sun 🌞🌞🌞

The hotel has an excellent view. We were so excited and were even more impressed with the hotel staff. They were attentive and helpful. We arrived at the hotel with no plans for tours .The guests staff immediately put our tours together in no time and took care of everything we needed. The food are great and the drinks are excellent. The pool is heavenly situated where you have an excellent view of the rock wall. Our special thanks to Lanie, you really made our stay in your hotel pretty special. We will come back!!!Not to forget, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Always smiling and very approachable. We had an awesome time at Lagùn Hotel and we appreciate the great service. Staying in a tent hotel for the second time, the first time in Taiwan, it is not disappointing at all. The tent is surrounded by tropical plants and feels very private. The tent is not brand new, but there are no mosquitoes. We stayed in the tent closest to the beach. It takes less than 1 minute to walk to the beach and the gradient blue sea, super beautiful! There is also a small space in front of the tent, perfect for taking pictures everywhere! The only problem is the poor road. Lying in front of my small balcony, watching the starry sky at night makes people feel incredible. Sleeping and listening to the rhythm of the waves gently beating is really super comfortable. The tent is air-conditioned, so you don’t need to be afraid of waking up from the heat, but it will light up until it is true. It is recommended to wear an eye mask to sleep, otherwise people who are more sensitive to light will get up at 6 o'clock! For dinner, I will go to a restaurant and bar in another district. The food is much better than the town’s. The cocktails are super gorgeous and delicious, so I’m not afraid of being hungry.

We spent 6 nights at the Last Frontier Beach Resort. It is a great little gem located in the Corong area of El Nido. The location is right on the water and a short trike ride to El Nido. The property is adults only and comprised of mostly individual cottages and a few suites and standard rooms. We occupied the suites while the majority of our group stayed in the cottages. All of the rooms are great, charming, well maintained and we would most likely choose the cottages if we were to return. The grounds are lush, tropical and peaceful. Close to the beach is a wonderful pool and lawn area overlooking the ocean where the 7 in our group spent each morning sipping coffee and in the evening gathering for cocktails while watching the sunset. The restaurant is very well staffed and the food is delicious. Judith and her crew work very hard and did a great job meeting our needs during breakfast, happy hours and dinners. They are very friendly, a pleasure to be around and super attentive to any request you may make. Diana and Weng did a great job at the front desk and were able to assist with tour arrangements, massage appointments and a whole host of other requests with ease and grace. For our farewell dinner Diana was able to arrange for a traditional “Boodle Fight” feast on the beach for our group which was amazing. We left the Last Frontier with the most amazing memories and pictures of sunsets and highly recommend the property to anyone visiting El Nido!

Had one of the best times in my life with the free sunset cruise of Balai Adlao. The staff was very accommodating especially the one who went with us in the sunset ride. Sir Nokki and Sir Vlad. Truly a place I would recommend because of their staff. The sunset rude was very very relaxing and at the same time informative as well thanks to the knowledge of Sir Nokki. We also saw dolphins as well. Truly a trip to remember. They also offer free snorkeling sessions for their guests. A must try for my next visit.

My siblings and I celebrated our birthdays in El Nido and we chose to stay in Isla Amara. So happy with our decision! Quiet and relaxing vibe in the resort, nature-vibe with a lot of plants and trees in sight, perfect for those who just want to stayput the whole day or those like us who spent fun but tiring days on local tours and needed to rest afterwards. Afternoon and evening swim are our favorite. The pool is not that big but we never felt too crowded even with other guests around. We spent a lot of time in the pool and in the poolside area. the The pool lounge beds are so comfortable. Bonus: free ice cream in the afternoon! Isla Amara is only a very short walk to Lio beach. You can actually view the beach from their bar area. We love Lio beach, not too quiet but not too loud, no big crowd, it’s perfect! There are a few restaurant choices in the area and our favorite is The Red Crab, which is beside Isla Amara. The resort is 10-15 mins ride via Car and 15-20 mins ride via Tricycle going to the town center. For tours, we were picked up and dropped off at the resort. Isla Amara booked us with Go Paradise tours and we highly recommend them! On days we wanted to try other restaurants in town, we needed to ride the tricycle. It’s easy to get one, just ask the front desk. It’s ₱300 pesos one way. It’s definitely a fair price for the distance alone. Personally, we preferred to just eat in the restaurants nearby, so we can just walk back to our room or stay in the beach area chairs to relax before calling it a night. Hopefully more restaurants open in the area for more choices. Our booked room is not that big but spacious enough for 3 adults. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The room is clean and smells really good. That’s actually the first thing we noticed when we entered the room. The wifi in our room is bad so we used our 5G most of the time. Not much of a big deal but could be improved. Wifi in the reception area is strong. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. Would definitely recommend to family and friends! We would like to give special thanks to all the staff of Isla Amara. More than everything else, they made our stay worthwhile. Thank you for the El Nido hospitality. 💚 P.S. Thank you for the birthday surprises. We didn’t expect it but they’re highly appreciated! We felt like VIPs. Thank you for the effort. Definitely made us happier!

My siblings and I celebrated our birthdays in El Nido and we chose to stay in Isla Amara. So happy with our decision! Quiet and relaxing vibe in the resort, nature-vibe with a lot of plants and trees in sight, perfect for those who just want to stayput the whole day or those like us who spent fun but tiring days on local tours and needed to rest afterwards. Afternoon and evening swim are our favorite. The pool is not that big but we never felt too crowded even with other guests around. We spent a lot of time in the pool and in the poolside area. the The pool lounge beds are so comfortable. Bonus: free ice cream in the afternoon! Isla Amara is only a very short walk to Lio beach. You can actually view the beach from their bar area. We love Lio beach, not too quiet but not too loud, no big crowd, it’s perfect! There are a few restaurant choices in the area and our favorite is The Red Crab, which is beside Isla Amara. The resort is 10-15 mins ride via Car and 15-20 mins ride via Tricycle going to the town center. For tours, we were picked up and dropped off at the resort. Isla Amara booked us with Go Paradise tours and we highly recommend them! On days we wanted to try other restaurants in town, we needed to ride the tricycle. It’s easy to get one, just ask the front desk. It’s ₱300 pesos one way. It’s definitely a fair price for the distance alone. Personally, we preferred to just eat in the restaurants nearby, so we can just walk back to our room or stay in the beach area chairs to relax before calling it a night. Hopefully more restaurants open in the area for more choices. Our booked room is not that big but spacious enough for 3 adults. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The room is clean and smells really good. That’s actually the first thing we noticed when we entered the room. The wifi in our room is bad so we used our 5G most of the time. Not much of a big deal but could be improved. Wifi in the reception area is strong. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. Would definitely recommend to family and friends! We would like to give special thanks to all the staff of Isla Amara. More than everything else, they made our stay worthwhile. Thank you for the El Nido hospitality. 💚 P.S. Thank you for the birthday surprises. We didn’t expect it but they’re highly appreciated! We felt like VIPs. Thank you for the effort. Definitely made us happier!

Our room was very nice, clean and large. The location of the hotel with the private beach was of course the absolute highlight. The staff was super friendly. Kayaks etc. could be borrowed for free, which is also a big plus. Unfortunately, there was only boiled coffee at breakfast, you had to pay extra for the rest - I find it really sad at the price. Likewise, the staff is sometimes very slow. When I sit alone at the pool bar and have to wait 15 minutes for my coke + have to point it out again, it's really a shame.

Still have some things to work on.. They didn’t started on top when our pre-booked shuttle didn’t showed up at airport. Waited an hour until a security guard at the airport helped us order a tricycle. Some misunderstanding between booking office and the reception was the answer, but they paid for our tricycle. It was a nice and modern hotel. Not a resort for pool relaxing because they only have few sun beds and always occupied. Even towels were few. Always in laundry was the answer. The rooms were tiny and dark. Always humid and moist. All our clothes and even bed linens felt wet. The food was tasty and good. But as in many places the service isn’t very fast. Long waiting times, from order to waiting even if they weren’t crowded. They were really keen on the allergies and made some offer to try to fix things. Even if they had spring rolls med of rice paper on the menu, of course the rice paper were out of stock they didn’t got new for our whole stay. As much others. No Cola Zero. Out of French fries and so on. They’re not quick to clean used glasses around pool area. Our tv didn’t work. They had not a great interest in trying to make it work. Our door lock same thing.. Good thing is the free shuttle to ElNido, LioBeach and the airport. Staying in a tent hotel for the second time, the first time in Taiwan, it is not disappointing at all. The tent is surrounded by tropical plants and feels very private. The tent is not brand new, but there are no mosquitoes. We stayed in the tent closest to the beach. It takes less than 1 minute to walk to the beach and the gradient blue sea, super beautiful! There is also a small space in front of the tent, perfect for taking pictures everywhere! The only problem is the poor road. Lying in front of my small balcony, watching the starry sky at night makes people feel incredible. Sleeping and listening to the rhythm of the waves gently beating is really super comfortable. The tent is air-conditioned, so you don’t need to be afraid of waking up from the heat, but it will light up until it is true. It is recommended to wear an eye mask to sleep, otherwise people who are more sensitive to light will get up at 6 o'clock! For dinner, I will go to a restaurant and bar in another district. The food is much better than the town’s. The cocktails are super gorgeous and delicious, so I’m not afraid of being hungry.

Lovely and friendly staff, they were very helpful on answering questions and providing information about tours/ transport. I stayed in the private 6 bed room, it was very cosy and stuffy, each bed had its own fan but it wasn't enough cold air for the whole night. Each bed had a socket and a small cupboard to place your luggage, you might want to bring your own lock. The bed were a good size and soft. The restaurant had good food but a little pricey. Every night there is an event going on and music, luckily you don't hear it in the rooms. The bathroom/ shower are was clean and spacious, bring your own towel. One the best things about the Hostel is it has the best beach view, you only have to walk 2 mins and the sea is right there. However, to get to the hostel you have to walk through the sand to arrive there, if you have a suitcase be ready to carry it across the sand (backpack is easier). Overall, a lovely place to enjoy and relax for a beach holiday. Sand, sea and sun 🌞🌞🌞

Dolarog, a true pet-friendly resort! The resort in itself is superb! It’s like a hidden gem of El Nido and the greatest thing about it is it’s truly a pet-friendly haven! What I like about it is that it’s still in the main island but gives off that exclusive feels. We stayed for 8 days in total at the beachfront villa called Lagen which is a few meters from the beach overlooking their jetti way and that awe-inspiring giant limestone directly in front of our villa. Getting to the resort is other via speedboat or their private access road from Vanilla Beach using a golf car. You know that you’ll have an excellent stay when the owner, Mr. Edu picks you up(or sometimes the son) from Vanilla beach for a more personal touch. How hospitable right? He also has a selection of Italian wines from his cellar as he is Italian, I had Chianti btw over dinner with the beach, stars and the moon as our backdrop. Truly magical! The rooms are always kept clean by the staff who are also very friendly. The main Receptionist, Tata is attentive and very pleasant not to mention very informative. I would take her as my head of staff if only I could! She knows her products and knows when to recommend it, the type of staff who is not in your face all the time to promote an offer. I must say she is one of the nicest resort staff I ever come across with. Food is relatively good. Home cooked and unpretentious. As with any advice when you go to a limited supply area such as El Nido, don’t get your expectations too high on having a western dish so much because obviously, you will have some issues so I only ordered I know locally sourced here like seafood or their filipino dishes like the menudo and chicken curry which are my faves! Filipino breakfast is good. You might wanna carry spare powerbanks as the resort rely on their own generator for electric supply. From 6am-9am and 12noon-6pm there is no electric power. Also, TV is not available (not sure abt other rooms though) but who needs a TV anyway? It’s not like you chose to go to El Nido and sit all day on Netflix and stay indoors duh! I rented a motorbike for 500/day basis and this really helped me in exploring or going out of the resort but the resort offers complimentary shuttle via their golf car to Vanilla beach for free but I wanted to leave and come back on my own time. This is also a 20 minutes walk to Maremegmeg beach by beachside access. Tricycle ride cost between 150 going to town from Vanilla beach btw. Overall our experience is a great 4.5/5 with .5 leaving for improvement on the land access before the Dolarog gate. Also, I’m pretty confident even without any advertisement or active social media promotion, the resort will do just good but let me tell when I posted 1 picture of Dolarog on my socmed, people flocked my DM to ask if I was in another country. We got the highest tier beachfront access villas with AC. We were pleasantly surprised to find that dormitels was connected to eco hotels, a bigger and higher end hotel, and the staff was more than helpful. Every time before we left the hotel we inquired how much a trike would cost from that location. The given price by the drivers was always higher and we chewed them down to the price given by them. Location is great as even tho it is really not in front of the beach as advertised, it’s part of a little cluster with some of the best food we found on the island! This review is long overdue. We stayed here for about 5 days after taking a boat from Coron. Location: close enough to walk easily to the heart of the city and beach, without being stuck in the hustle and bustle of the tourists. It’s just 2 streets, maybe a 4-5 min walk into the town and about 10-15 to hit the beach. Rooms: spacious, exactly what you see on the photos. The view from the 2nd floor middle room was awesome. I know a few reviews mentioned the 3rd so we considered asking to see if it was open, but our view was perfect. The balcony was great too, spend the mornings there packing for the day. Staff: Super friendly staff and owners. This was actually probably our most memorable part because the owners were always available and happy to chat with us about our plans, tours, or get/find us things to do. They have someone on staff at the gate all day/night which was cool. The owners even saw us walking to the mountain area to do the climb and picked us up on their scooters and dropped us off. Thanks for the great time, recommendations and making everything feel easy and accessible.

Bulskamp is exactly the type of accommodation we seek out when we are travelling. The owner Ray is available all day to answer questions, arrange tours, book tricycles or just have a chat. He, along with all the other staff are very helpful friendly and welcoming and make you feel very comfortable. There is a beautiful communal area with comfortable seating and hammocks where guests gather for drinks and travel chats or reading and relaxing. This area is the heart of the hotel and what sets it apart from most other accommodation in town. There is a great choice of breakfast options and a good selection of very well priced drinks available throughout the day and night. The rooms are spotlessly clean with aircon, fan, tv and safe and they are serviced daily. We initially booked for three nights but the hotel atmosphere and beauty of El Nido made us stay for longer. Highly recommended
