Family Friendly Hotels in Pu'er

Lovely hotel, clean and modern. Location was ok, next to a half open mall, no convenient stores nearby which was a little annoying. All scenic areas are a short taxi journey away, 3-5 km, not more than 15RMB. Breakfast was average, limited fruit selection, coffee was horrid, mostly Chinese food. Staff were very helpful. Tea, coffee, kettle, water and toiletries in the room. Overall definitely worth the stay for a couple of nights as the price is affordable and the tourist attractions are nearby.

We had a wonderful three night stay here. Breakfast and dinners are buffet and yummy. For non-speaking Chinese people, it was difficult to work out how to get buses around the park etc. However, previously reviews that I read were positive about this. The woman at the reception desk who gave us her WeChat wasn’t supportive at all, but we figured it out. The tour around the park is not wheelchair or stroller friendly. A bit sad to see that animals were being handled or hand fed if you pay. However, overall, it was a lovely few days.

This time when I visited Pu'er, the Yunjing Hotel where I stayed was really amazing! 🎉 📍The location is nothing to say, it is on the eastern section of the Fulian Mountain Tourist Ring Road, and the environment is amazing👏. Half city and half rainforest, standing there feels like you are surrounded by the fireworks of nature and the city at the same time. The air is filled with the smell of freedom, which is perfect for vacation and relaxation. 🌳 🎨The decoration of the hotel is so unique! The lobby is grand and stylish, with a comfortable seating area. The style of the entire hotel is unique and beautiful. As soon as I entered, I couldn't help but take various photos. I felt like I could take photos everywhere. 📷 🛏The room facilities are very complete and very clean. The bedding is super comfortable to sleep on, and there are all kinds of daily necessities. You don't have to worry about missing something, and you feel as comfortable as at home. 😴 🍳The breakfast must be praised, there are so many varieties and the taste is very good. A little of each will make you full and start your day full of energy. 🥪 💁♂️The service is also very considerate, there is an airport pick-up service, and there are people at the front desk 24 hours a day, so any problems can be solved quickly. It feels like they really care about their guests. 🤗 Of course, because the hotel is new, some small details can be improved, but it will not affect the overall experience at all. All in all, I was very satisfied with my stay this time and recommend it to everyone!

When I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made. The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car. When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff. The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion. This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time! One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay. Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.

I came to Pu'er and felt the enthusiasm of Pu'er people. After I arrived at the hotel, the boss upgraded the room. The room was clean and tidy. The boss also made tea and prepared fruit. I tasted the white fungus soup made by the boss. The boss recommended a local dish. It was very authentic and cheap. I have been to Xishuangbanna. The most fragrant meal I came to eat. I cried 😭 I checked out a bit early in the morning. The boss also packed breakfast. It was really intimate. The service was great. I was very satisfied with my stay. I recommended it to my friends. I will definitely stay here next time!

This hotel will only open in 2024. When I first booked, I already knew what I wanted after reading the reviews and introductions. It really exceeded my expectations. Whether it is the lobby or the room, I like it so much from the decoration style to the comfort. Despite the thrilling winding mountain road, the hotel is still quite distinctive. You can see the hotel's honeycomb exterior in Lao Dabao Village, which looks like an alien flying object halfway up the mountain. The room has a strong sense of design and advanced facilities, but I booked the wrong room type. You need to climb stairs from the living room to the bedroom to the viewing platform in the honeycomb room, which is not suitable for the elderly. The bar and cafe have a great view. The villagers' performance that night was not scheduled, and a sightseeing bus took everyone to Lao Dabao Village the next day to watch the village evening.

先説那古茶園，走進去就舒服得很——老茶樹長得亂七八糟但看着特帶勁，腳底下踩的土軟軟的，空氣裏都是茶葉的清香味兒。隨便找個石頭坐下歇會兒，聽旁邊採茶的阿姨擺兩句閑話，感覺日子都慢下來了，比在城裡待着爽多了。再就是早上的雲海，我的天，太絕了！剛起來的時候，整個山都被白濛濛的霧裹着，茶園就露個頂頂，跟仙境似的（真不是誇張）。等太陽出來，那霧慢慢散了，金光灑在茶葉上，綠油油的一片，看着就特舒服。手機拍了幾十張，沒一張能趕上眼睛看到的十分之一。要我説，來都來了，一定得早起看雲霧，再去茶園裡瞎逛兩圈，這趟就值了！
