Hotels in Florence Historic Center, Florence

We stayed for three nights and here's our experience for your reference. Disadvantages: 1. When checking in, although there was a POS machine at the reception, they insisted that we pay the city tax in cash instead of using a bank card. This is the only hotel among all the European hotels I've stayed at that has such a requirement. However, we eventually paid with a bank card when checking out. 2. The room facilities are very basic.The bed next to the window felt drafty and very cold, and the air conditioner made a lot of noise. 3. There was a foul smell when we entered the room, and the sound insulation was very poor. It was very noisy in the morning when someone was cleaning the corridor. 4. The Wi-Fi signal in our room was very weak. Advantages: 1. Breakfast is provided. 2. Room service is great. 3. The staff have a good attitude.

By far the best hostel I have stayed in Europe. Extremely clean, en-suite toilet, lockers (bring your own lock), towels and shampoo/bath gel provided, respectful guests (mostly youths) and all around good vibes. There are 2 pools, a sauna and gym. You can also do your laundry here if you wish. It is a 10min walk to Piazza Montelungo where most tours use as their pickup/dropoff point, very convenient. Also a Carrefour within a minute's walk if you need snacks, drinks, etc. This place really has everything!

I stayed at the hotel for only one night, but I wish I could have stayed for a bit longer to properly enjoy it. I didn't have high expectations because of the mixed reviews online. However, when I arrived, what I found was friendly and helpful staff, and great rooms. I guess I really wasn't expecting much, so was impressed by everything. The room had everything I needed, even free water and coffee. I wish there was an iron in the hotel though, but not all hotels have irons in the rooms, understandable. The shower had a ”water spent” device installed onto it which gave me anxiety because I realised I spent too much water just by trying to figure how the shower works (which one is hot/cold? etc). I liked the vibe of the hotel bar, and loved that the hotel's front garden was closed at night, only way in was by using your room key, which I guess is for safety reasons. Wish I had enough time to swim in the pool, it looked very clean. The bar had a wonderful vibe. The lifts are a bit confusing and very slow for year 2024. But I'm not sure that can be fixed without a massive investment. Would make the guests a lot happier though. Overall, I would use this hotel again for my next stay in Florence. And that says something, because I usually like to change hotels and don't tend to stay at the same place twice.

I didn't know that there was a second-class room in a hotel, and they put us in a room at the last floor, with the different floor of the structure, very badly held mobile, a plane without maintenance. It rained and to go down the ground floor, the path to the lift was flooding. We took the rain very hard to go to breakfast, we are in winter. The floor from the restaurant was water. I seemed a nice hotel from the photos on the site

This hotel is absolutely a 5-star for us. Nice location(minutes walk to city center), great breakfast, very helpful staff with Italian hospitality(special thanks to Silvia at the reception), and most important - great value for money. Strongly recommend

Wyndham Garden feels like it should be 4 stars or above, but the room is too small and there are no supporting facilities except the restaurant. It is far from the city and the transportation is inconvenient and you can only take a taxi. It is suitable for the needs of the airport. The restaurant is good, breakfast is also available, and the front desk service is friendly. Similar to China’s full season

The hotel is just off center which is ok. The service was excellent and the room was clean. But there was a serious lack of amenities, particularly there where none apart from hand soap and shampoo and also the condition of the bed was not very good. If the price was half I would not be so much concerned about these, but for the price payed I expected more.

I booked and used the hotel in advance for one night only. The location and cleanliness of the hotel was perfect. The quality of the front desk staff varied. The person who was on duty on the morning of April 10 was very courteous and helpful. On April 10 at 21:00, when I returned to the hotel, I greeted the staff at the front desk in Italian at the person to the right of the front desk at from the entrance said ”Ai-ya” to me. I'm Asian and not all Asians speak Chinese. I don't know why he had to say that word or what it means. The person who worked there in the morning was very polite. I was disappointed and felt uncomfortable. If you are going to work at the front desk, it would be better to hire educated people.

Very pleased with my stay. Hotel kindly upgraded me from a Single Room to a Double Room in low season in November, which is really nice. The room is spacious, with good natural light, double glazed windows and good ventilation/air con/heating. Toilet with stand shower is of a good size as well, not too small and cramped. Hotel location is super close to the central station in Florence, around 5 mins walk only to it, which is very ideal for travellers arriving into Florence by rail. It's slow walkable to pretty much all attractions (within 15-25 mins), so is a good place to base yourself in for a short stay. Similar to many hotels in Italy, there are a few steps at the entrance but there is a lift to get you up to your room. Check-in process is smooth and complimentary breakfast is decent. I especially love the coffee and jucie machine and pancakes offered. It'd be great if besides scrambled eggs, some kind of breakfast meats like sausages can also be offered. They do have some basic cold cuts and cheese and ham as well, yogurt, and cornflakes, it's a more diverse continental breakfast, which is great for a 3 Star Hotel. As the hotel is very close to the Train Station, you do hear trains / trams passing through from the streets, but the noise level is acceptable with the double glazed windows' insulation. I would recommend this hotel for solo travellers.
