Hotels in Fuengirola with Swimming Pools

Today is 28 September 2022 and my daughter Jill's memory on Facebook was of us sitting in the Lomond Lounge at Glasgow Airport before our flight on 28 September 2019, looking forward to another enjoyable holiday at Hotel IPV Palace & Spa. Little did we know that the dreaded COVID pandemic was on the horizon and would almost bring the world to a stop. I have worked from home since 17 March 2020 and have never been on a bus or a train since then never mind an aeroplane. Looking at the memory prompted me to look at my previous reviews and I found that I did not submit a review for that visit. I know it is a bit late in the day however I want the people who read reviews before deciding on their destination to know that this hotel is first class in every way. Perfect location with unbeatable sea view, comfortable beds, scrupulously clean, powerful shower with constant hot water, good food and most important of all the wonderful, friendly, efficient staff. Our Jet2 Holiday was stress free throughout the flight and we were quickly through customs and luggage carousel at Malaga. The transfer to the hotel was pleasant and the driver wheeled my cases up to the entrance. I hesitated, looked around and felt I was back to my happy place. Walking through reception, smiles were coming in our direction before we reached the desk. Warm welcome as we checked in, asked for a kettle which was delivered to the room shortly afterwards. We couldn’t resist one of the delicious fruity boiled sweets which always sit in a bowl on the desk. Once again, we were on the top floor of the Cesares building. Cases discarded, balcony door opened, elbows on the balcony and taking in the panoramic sea view with the ever present sound of the waves … the most relaxing sound in the world. Housekeeping do a brilliant job, the room was pristine and the bathroom gleaming. Toiletries etc. available in case there was something we had forgotten to pack. Wherever we went in the hotel from Beach Bar, Dona Lola Restaurant, Lobby Bar and Shop we caught up with people we have got to know over the years. They all gave us a lovely welcome and hugs all round. Now most of the people reading this will want to know about the restaurant and quality of food. The Dona Lola Restaurant is spacious and all the tables are covered with lovely crisp fresh tablecloths with proper napkins. Weather permitting; we always opt to eat outside on the terrace, part of which is covered. Their breakfasts make a great start to the day. You can choose a cooked breakfast accompanied by eggs any which way you like … omelette, poached, boiled, scrambled (sorry no Cadbury’s chocolate ones). The continental breakfast is also delicious with a good choice of meats, cheeses, etc. Cava is available and with the fresh fruit juices you can easily mix yourself a Bucks Fizz or Bellini. The hotel is really nice very big, the food was buffet style but plenty of choice... Our room was sufficient clean but view was of a tall building at the back that was being renovated which was horrible... Ask for a room looking over the pool and gardens. Couldn't fault the prices in the bar... The entertainment was aimed totally at Spanish people they took over the dance floor every night... The pool was very disappointing as was open for two days then the Manager took the decision to close it ... We were shocked as the weather was beautiful. we were told swim in doors ... l think he missed the point as l have to swim indoors all the year around that's why l save up and go to Spain...he was obnoxious....

Just returned from el pourto ,after reading some bad reports I was apprehensive about going as we had booked 2 weeks holiday.we are 2 ladies in our 60s we are friends. It is not as bad as people make out but it is not a holiday hotel it is more transient for people wanting to visit the area and have somewhere to lay their head .there is no appreciation that you have spent a lot of money to stay in their hotel.reception staff ok but they prefer Spanish residents , bar staff in reception area are so rude twice I tried to get served and they just carried on talking to each other so I walked away, no customer service skills at all.restaurant staff are very reserved only the odd one say hello..the best staff are the chamber maids they always speak and are very helpful..the rooms are kept spotless.we was never woke up early.the bathrooms are very small and not private at all.because we are friends one of us kept going out to give the other person privacy for the toilet, Something needs to be done re pool bar it is our pool to use but you can only drink and eat anything bought up there.but it is expensive and some budgets won't stretch to using the bar.again some staff speak and make you feel welcome.breakfast good but evening meal needs looking at as it is repetative and uninviting unless you love sweet things.please be aware it is not mobile friendly with restaurant being up on the first floor of a different block so your down in one lift and back up in another .as the lifts are not very reliable it can take a while to get to the restaurant. I wouldn't personally go back but it is central and very clean.maybe because I served all my career in customer service I expect to be looked after as I would have served residents.maybe they should have a mystery resident to report back to management re the failings of staff.after all we are the people who keep the money coming in and keep the Spanish economy going.please dont worry if you have booked to go as it is not to bad....

Hotel is located close to train and bus station and beach across the road . Overall our stay was very pleasant - rooms need attention - bedside table and dressing table are exactly that - cheap tables with no storage space . Bathroom also lacks storage space . Shampoos soap and toilet paper the cheapest of the cheapest . These small things don’t go unnoticed and all add to overall impression of the hotel . This hotels greatest asset is its staff who are so kind and friendly . Definitely not 4* rating in my view .

Good location near the harbour and beaches, clean and nice rooms, soft towels and a nice pool bar, BUT... The pool is mainly for adults and close to no playing around and no pool toys in the pool is allowed. Quite noisy airconditioning. The breakfast buffet is the same every day and not worth the money, unless you simply need a cup of coffee, a boring bread roll with butter and jam. The hotel staff is friendly, but do not serve you as a guest. A ”customer first” perspective would be appropriate, as this seems more like a me-me-me attitude not serving the hotel guests. One example (of many): asked if we could extend our stay and check out late, the answer was no, because no rooms were available. We merely needed a place to shower and clean up before leaving. I went to booking.com and hotels.com and could easily book several rooms for more days. Asked at the reception if we could book another night, the answer was yes. Why not earn the extra money for a couple of hours late check-out?

This was such an easy trip. Out the airport, a 3 minute walk to the train station and a 25 minute train ride straight to Torreblanca station and the hotel is right there. It's a 3-4 minute walk from station right into hotel reception. There is a very short incline just before you get into hotel. Arrival was great as the staff in this hotel are always so friendly and helpful. This extends to everywhere, restaurant staff are lovely, cleaning staff are lovely, bar staff etc, everyone is so nice. I had room 406 with a spectacular sea view and looking directly onto the beautifully manicured large garden area with sunbeds well distanced from each other and positioned on the lawns. It's peacefulness personified to just lie down there and read a book. So quiet. There is a large(ish) pool down at the bottom of the gardens with a more livelier pool up above, and closer to the hotel. This tends to attract families, although it's never been really busy anytime I have stayed. I do like the small pool bar there and it's lovely to sit outside of it and just watch the families in the pool. It also has a small much shaded area if you wanted to get out the sun for a while. Amenities are a short walk away, down a hill, and about 5 minutes walk. For the less able-bodied people, it is a bit of a steep climb back up to the hotel. It's doable, but you may just need to stop and rest. Until 7pm, you can get into the hotel through a side-gate half-way up the hill by using your room card for entry. This saves going up that last part of the hill which is the steepest. What I loved most is being able to walk out the hotel straight into the train station and head to Fuengirola, Torremolinos, Arroyo de la Miel, Plaza Mayor (huge shopping area) and finally back to the airport. No need to buy a ticket as just tap your bank card onto the Renfe big red dots at every station and that's you. Just don't forget to tap that dot again when you get to your destination station. All-in-all, a great holiday (always) and I have already booked for my next trip back there.

I visited the Angela Hotel from 1-9 November and I must say that I really enjoyed my stay. I was checked in by Manuela and Juan who were great and very helpful. I was allocated a room for my needs which I appreciated. My room was a decent size and very clean. It was cleaned daily to a high standard with plenty of towel and bedding changes. The bed was very comfortable. The amenities in the room include a kettle with coffee and tea, safe, wifi and a mini fridge (payable). the bathroom was also a decent size and clean but could possibly do with an upgrade. The balcony has 2 good quality chairs and a small table. My room was on the street side above the reception area and I still had a view of the sea. I'm glad that I chose the half board option which is excellent value. The food at both breakfast and dinner was very tasty with plenty of choice and hot when it should be. The bar/lounge is fantastic with great entertainment every night. The bonus is a happy 2 hours from 8-10. I congratulate the management and all staff for providing excellent service, thank you. I will definitely stay at the Angela again.
