I loved this place! I cannot image a better place to stay if you visit this part of the country. The staff (owners) are very nice and very helpful. The location could not be better (if you have a car and like the countryside). Our room was very nice although a bit crowded since we were three people sharing a room for two. Worked out fine. We loved the cosy corner with the bar offering good wines, beers etc and some food. We bought cheese, sausages, olives etc at the local markets and brought back for lovely evening snacks on the terrace overlooking the wineyards and the sea.. We spent four nights here, visiting San Sebastian and other places during our stay, but Getaria got the biggest part of our hearts. Getaria is a small town with plenty of good restaurants, the Balanciago museum, two nice beaches. We picked figs, walnuts and other fruits on our walk down to the town (abt 20 minutes)... I would love to come back!

I am firmly of the view that hotels are for travellers and many people travel by car these days. The first thing that you realise when you turn up is that there is no parking. It is in a narrow street in the old town. The receptionist said that they have a few spaces but you have to reserve them. No point telling you that after you get there. We were then directed to some free street parking about 1/2 mile away but of course there were no spaces so the only other alternative is paid for parking about 1/2 a mile away but you then have to walk up many flights of stairs to get back to the hotel. The room was a reasonable size but basic. The Wi-Fi was just rubbish. If you need it go elsewhere. The biggest problem here was despite the ”masks are obligatory” signs in the hotel there was absolutely no attempt to enforce it. At the time we were there Spain was having some outbreaks, they should have been doing something about it. We didn't feel safe. My advice is to keep away.
