7/26/2022 When I entered my room there was a sheen of moisture on the floor that remained there all night. I had to lay towels on the floor to keep from slipping. Other observations: Broken chair for the desk; A refrigerator that was rusty and pock-marked; a ”grab bar” in the tub that was just a towels rack anchored vertically; a bathroom door that would not close properly; permanent marks on the mirror that I could not remove. This hotel was a construction site. There was equipment in the corridors, the public spaces, and all common spaces were cluttered. When I want a bucket of ice, I had to be redirected through the construction. For the ”hot” breakfast, there was only muffins wrapped in cellophane and the coffee was stale and inedible. There were common areas of the hotel that needed painting. There were some parts of my room that needed painting. Overall, the hotel was a rundown slum. Filthy and unbefitting of the reviews and ratings that I saw when I booked the room. When I checked out on Monday morning, I mentioned all this to the clerk at the front desk. She said that she would mention it to the general manager, who was coming in later that morning. She never did. I am completely appalled by the disgusting atmosphere you provided. I was charged $187 for a two-night stay. After arriving in New Orleans, I discovered that this hotel offers discounts for disabled veterans (which I am), AAA member (which I am), AARP member (which I am), none of which was offered. This hotel was completely unacceptable. I will write review after review until you stop posting fake online reviews that give a false impression of your accommodations. I demand that you refund the full payment that I made.

The staff was excellent, room was comfortable. They have complimentary water to drink if you don’t like the brown city water. The city water is brown due to the aquifer and locals feel it is good for their skin and hair. Don’t eat at Doe’s, it’s not worth it.

I booked the room online using my credit card to hold it. Upon arrival, I was told another $32 was needed for incidentals so I paid it with my debit card. 10 min later the room rate of a whopping $177 was charged to BOTH my credit card and funds of $177 came directly out of my personal checking. They’re holding up my credit card plus taking it out of my account. I spoke with the mgr at the front desk who said this was normal practice and nothing she could do. She went on to tell me how many guests complain about being double billed, yet there’s nothing you can do about it? I beg to differ! I told the mgr (Sheila), who was very kind, how disappointed I was with this supposedly new hotel. The walls are peeling. There are cuts and marks all over the walls from presumably luggage carts. The shade in our room was ripped so I took pics to her immediately so they wouldn’t try and charge me for that too! All this plus you’re double charging me for this miniature overpriced hotel stay. The doors are suspect. They don’t close as normal doors do. You have to literally pull it shut and this went on all night long. People coming and going and the doors slamming all night so needless to say we didn’t sleep well. The halls are super small and they were not clean. Not maintained at all. The rooms are also small and there was no closet. There is only a hook to hang your items. The work desk is the size of an elementary school desk. Everything is reduced in size but the room was clean. I was only there one night and I won’t be staying at any Tru hotel again. I’m very surprised at Hilton for connecting themselves with such a poorly made hotel that looks nothing like a new hotel. Staff at check in and check out were super kind. That’s the only positive I have to add to this review.

The room was clean and the staff were very nice and helpful. We travel with our dog and were pleased that dogs were allowed with a $7.00 extra daily charge. We enjoyed the included breakfast and the coffee maker in the room. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioner was quiet and worked good. It was HOT in Greenville in early October so we especially appreciated the air conditioning! It looked like they were doing renovations on some of the rooms in another part but we didn't experience any noise where we were.
