GGuest UserWe came for a 2 night stay at Dusit Princess Melaka to compare the hotel standard with the building past occupant being Ramada Renaissance.  Dusit Princess Melaka had certainly improved much on the grandeur of the hotel building.  Its welcome perk was a 50MYR food voucher to spend at its eateries and valid only for the day of issue.  Eating at the cafe and Long Feng Chinese restaurant were equally pleasant.  The food menu choice and cooking at Long Feng were excellent but somewhat pricey.  This hotel location would be comfortable for persons familiar with the old town of Melaka.  Room was spacious, bright, neat and clean.  The elevator worked well and fast  enough and would need the room card to access on going up.

The room was clean, spacious, and equipped with all the necessary amenities, making my stay very relaxing. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. I was particularly impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff, who were always ready to assist and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. LLady CelI promise this review is honest and unfiltered... This was my first stay in Malacca, and I’m so grateful for this newly renovated hotel that gave us a sense of safety and comfort. We ended up extending our stay by 2 more nights because we loved Malacca so much, for a total of 4 nights. Here’s my overall feedback, hope it helps anyone coming to Malacca: - The hotel is in a great location, seemingly in a Chinese area with no run-down surroundings. It’s only about 2+ km to Jonker Street, super close—Grab rides cost just a few ringgit. Taxis are easy to get, and there are bell staff at the entrance who can help with anything you need. - The renovation is new, easily 4-star standard, and really comfortable. Clean, fresh, with all the essentials. Rooms with balconies are amazing—my partner could smoke freely, just remember to close the windows to follow hotel rules. There are waiting sofas in every floor corridor, which is really thoughtful, plus air purifiers and air coolers too. - Downstairs there’s a seafood restaurant, a Western bar, a noodle shop, a Sichuan restaurant, and even a Chaoshan beef hot pot place. We tried almost all of them, and they’re all pretty good. The fish at the seafood restaurant was excellent—pricier, but worth it for the quality. - The hotel service is the part I need to comment on. It’s inconsistent—some staff are lovely, others lack service awareness. For example, there was a Malay bellboy who was always cheerful and helped open doors every day. But the front desk staff were sometimes unenthusiastic, and calls to them weren’t always smooth. The staff at the pool also weren’t very friendly. - Breakfast is okay! The butter should really be replaced with animal-based butter 🧈! If the hotel is open to feedback, please improve the front desk and overall service to match the standard set by the friendly bellboy. A special mention goes to Roger, who was exceptionally helpful during our stay. He was friendly, attentive, and went the extra mile to assist with our requests, making us feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of. CChikibumbum92This was our fifth stay at this hotel, and unfortunately, this time was very disappointing. 1. Check-in The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were polite and welcoming. I had requested a Queen Bed room instead of Twin Beds. However, I was informed that because my booking was made at the last minute (one day before check-in), only a Twin Bed room was available as all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied. We accepted the explanation and proceeded with the room provided. 2. Room Condition Upon entering the room, the first issue we noticed was the air conditioning. Despite setting the fan speed to high, the room remained warm and the air conditioner was not cooling properly. 3. Bathroom There appeared to be a blockage beneath the sink, as water was pooling around the sink and toilet area. In addition, the shower holder was broken while we were using the shower. We chose not to complain and continued our stay. 4. Room Door & Bathroom Door The bathroom door could not be closed properly unless it was pulled and pushed firmly. The more serious issue occurred the next morning after breakfast when our room door became stuck and could not be opened. We contacted maintenance, and the team arrived to inspect the problem. From approximately 8:00 AM onwards, we were unable to access our room. Around 8:30 AM, the maintenance team requested approval from the Front Office to move us to another room because the repair would require additional time. However, they informed that changing rooms would incur an additional charge because we were checking out on the same day. I strongly disagree with this decision. From 8:30 AM until our checkout time at 12:00/12:30 PM, we were still paying guests of the hotel. The room issue was caused by a defect on the hotel’s side, and guests should not be charged extra to move rooms due to problems beyond their control. The Most Disappointing Part During check-in, we were informed that no Queen Bed Deluxe Rooms were available. However, while the maintenance team was accessing our room through the connecting room next door, we discovered that the adjacent room was vacant and equipped with a Queen Bed. If the actual reason was that the room was unavailable due to maintenance, it would have been more professional and honest to explain that from the beginning rather than simply saying all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied. This experience has left us very disappointed. Every time we visit Melaka, this hotel has always been our preferred choice. However, after this stay, we have decided not to return. I appreciate the hospitality shown by the staff during check-in, but I sincerely hope the hotel will improve both its facilities and service standards. Thank you.

AAnonymous UserI had a wonderful stay at Ibis Melaka during my recent trip to Malacca. The hotel exceeded my expectations in many ways. The location is very convenient, just a short walk to Jonker Street and the historic area, which made exploring the city extremely easy. At the same time, the hotel is situated in a quieter area, so it was peaceful and comfortable at night. The rooms are clean, modern, and well-maintained. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and efficient layout of the room. Everything felt very new and thoughtfully designed. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful, always greeting guests with a smile and ready to assist whenever needed. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. Another highlight was the excellent facilities, including the swimming pool, gym, and the spacious lobby area. The breakfast spread was also good with a nice mix of local and international options. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend Ibis Melaka to anyone visiting Malacca. It offers great comfort, good value, and a very convenient location. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Not bad overall, check in and out service are prompt, spacious and comfy room, level 23 with unblock view all the way to Encore. Parking is available at either roadside or at the building behind. About the room: comfy and clean room, bed and pillow, toilet and shower area. I'm very particular about any foul or unpleasant smell, and so far this hotel has not disappointed. Loved their swimming pool which is an infinity pool. For tourists' info: This hotel is in between Encore and Jonker Street. Uniqlo, Jaya Grocer, Mixue, Watson's among the brands at Tarcor Park which is near Encore.

AAnonymous UserOverall, the experience was acceptable the ocation was convenient about a 10-15 minute ride to the city centre, which made getting around quite easy. However, there were several issues during our stay Cleanliness: We noticed some smallinsects on the floor. While it didn't significantly affect aur stay, it would be better if the rooms could be more thoroughly checked and cleaned. Customer Service: All communication had to be done online through WhatsApp, as there was no face-to-face front desk service. This was quite unconventional and sometimes made things less convenient when we needed assistance urgently. Room Equipment: One of the air conditioners in our room kept switching on and off by itself and wasn't functioning properly. Even more concerning, the hairdryer had a short circuit, produced a burning smell, and even sparked flames. This was a frightening experience, and although it was eventually replaced, waiting a full day for such a serious issue was very disappointing.
