I recently stayed at this hostel in Hong Kong and while it offered a budget-friendly option, there were some notable things to consider. The room I stayed in was quite small, with two sets of triple bunk beds. On the first night, I found myself on the top bunk, which was uncomfortably close to the ceiling. It was so low that I couldnât even sit up properly or bend my legsâthankfully, Iâm not claustrophobic. The next day, I was able to switch to a different bed as someone left, which was a relief.
The bathroom was very compact but functional, and like the rest of the hostel, everything felt quite narrow. It wasnât the most spacious experience, but it did the job.
On the plus side, this hostel is affordable, and its location is perfect for exploring Hong Kong, being centrally located with easy access to key attractions. Overall, while it may not be the most comfortable place to stay, itâs definitely one of the cheapest options in a prime area.

The hotel belongs to the type of "guesthouse"; it is similar to small hotels, family hotels and guest houses in the mainland, but is collectively called "guesthouse" in Hong Kong.

The check-in counter is different from the actual room floor.
You need to take the elevator to the first floor. Take the elevator on the other side instead.
The location is very convenient. There is a subway station just outside the door. There are a lot of food and drinks around. The room feels older and smaller, but it has all the facilities. It is just right for one person. If you live with two people, you may not have space to spread your suitcases. The door is just open enough.
The price is cheap and itâs in the city center. The counter is friendly. Highly recommend!

Excellent spot for holiday seekers . Although isolated on top of a peak with no facilities nearby and only accessible by shuttle bus or taxi, this youth hostel nevertheless offers guests and visitors serenity, seaview and the freedom to explore hill paths or sit down to roast barbecue. The place is almost never fully booked and is the cheapest accommodation on HongKong Island by far: Highly recommended for those looking to chill out for a few days from the hustle bustle of city life.

I think this is one cool model for all the hostels to learn. Not very big slot for each to sleep, but just enough. Well organized. Clean and cozy.
What need to be updated, is the cables inside the slot, plug and lighting stuff. And the wooden materials is hard for my knees to withstand when climbing into it.

ZZi JingI was in HK for the first time and split my stay into 2 nights in Kowloon, 1 night in Macau, and then 3 nights on HK island. Honestly, this hotel impressed me the most.
Letâs get the bad points out of the way first. This hotel is a small hotel on a building that leases their floors/units/spaces to other businesses, including this hotel and other hotels within the building. There are 3 elevators, 2 of them for passengers, whereby one serves odd numbered floors and the other serves even number floors. The last elevator is for freight when required that serves all floors. This means that sometimes you have to wait an absolutely long time to get back to your room. However, I also visited Chungking Mansion (another similar hotel building), and there it was so much worse so itâs not too bad here.
Now to the good points, and there are a lot. The hotel room was actually kind of spacious. Itâs not huge, but the area was a square, so you have more than enough room to open a suitcase or do a home workout (I did). The toilet was also spacious. Thereâs a space for showering, a toilet, and a sink, and you wouldnât feel like you are squeezed for space.
The location of this hotel is also a huge boon. Itâs literally the building just beside the metro exit so it is super convenient. You are also on TST MTR station, which means it is super convenient to go anywhere, including crossing to HK island either by MTR or ferry. There is a freaking good Michelin featured shengjian bao shop just downstairs of the hotel, and it was so delicious I ate there so many times I didnât even have time to try the other delicious looking cafes and restaurants.
Service was also pretty good. Itâs a pretty mainland China styled hotel. Communication is done through WeChat, with a very friendly and helpful staff who answers promptly. Bed was also very comfortable honestly.
For this price, I wish I only stayed at this hotel my entire trip.

MMarcelo Alexis Norambuena SepulvedaThe hostel stands out for its extraordinary location in Mong Kok, Argyle Street, which quickly connects you to any point in the special territory of Hong Kong. The staff is attentive and maintains a friendly manner at all times, also highlighting the security of the place. Now, regarding the facilities, I can say that they are kept clean and have just the right amount for a traveler looking to save money. The hostel shares the same level as other hotels with similar characteristics. The building is old and somewhat neglected, next to impressive glass and neon towers, something typical to find in HK. It may give a more demanding traveler a bad impression, but it is something very common to find in HK for the prices we are talking about. Finding something nicer will cost you 3 times more, it is HK and space is a valuable resource that can be traded on the rise. The rooms are located in adapted apartments that allow for multiple rooms inside, which are very small and without windows. They have air conditioning and a fan, which helps to temper the temperature compared to the outside. The bathroom is shared with access to soap, shampoo and towels, and there is a shower that wets the entire bathroom (there is no separate shower from the toilet, something that is common in HK due to the exorbitant cost of square meters built). As a final assessment, I found it to be a good place for the price, safe and with staff always available. I recommend it to anyone who wants to save money on their stay in this magnificent city.

AAzaa13I didnât expect much even i was bit worried after booking hotel i checked reviews and it seemed negative.
When i arrived it was actually better than I expected. You can keep your luggage for free.
Owner sort of upgraded my room from shared bathroom to private bath room. I am very delighted to accept.
Room is confined and small, but that is expected in this area also with this budget. I am happy that I received good value.

GGuest UserI want to try and be balanced. I hate to give this place too much hate. I feel like theyâre doing the best they can with the cards theyâve been dealt and the price reflects that. This being my first time to Hong Kong, I was not aware of what to expect price wise.
That said, I want people to who read this to have more reasonable expectations than what the 4-5 star ratings want you to have.
Location. I suppose itâs in a good location of the city but itâs in an apartment above a market like setup. As i walked into the building i was immediately pounced upon by individual after individual who seemed to be trying to rent me their own rooms. I had to just ignore them and keep walking. I donât like being rude, but Iâve found this is the easiest way to escape. I never feel safe in situations like this especially late at night.
The room was small and generally clean. Iâve left hotels in the past that were just horrid, this isnât one of those. The mattress was comfortable but the bed was short. I feel the pillows and blankets were âclean â. But they were clean to the standards that I wash my own bedding. They were very white, but with some obvious stains that havenât quite washed out, and one pillow appeared to have something like a blood stain visible through the pillow case. You will want to bring some sort of sleeping bag or liner. I was happy i had one.
The bathroom had no toiletries. No soap, shampoo, bidet/paper. The toilet bowl was black inside and immediately began to smell of sewer gas as i was urinating. It leaked when i flushed it. Gave me quite a start. The stench stayed around for 10-20 minutes or so. After that i didnât want to do anything else in the bathroom. I used a bottle of water to brush my teeth.
I donât know. If youâre looking at the outside of the building during the day, itâs what youâd expect. If youâre familiar with the cost of living in Hong Kong, itâs probably also what youâd expect at this price. If you just want a relatively clean place to sleep, and donât want to spend a lot for hotels that reviewers say have the same issues, this will work. Just make sure you have your sleeping bag liner.
For this price, Iâd probably stay there again if they fixed the plumbing.

TtraveLOR_dmdI put 4 in service although ehat I wanna review is the hinesty of the housekeeping. I left my pouch with koney, credit cards and IDs in the room and only realized it when Im already in the airport when I was aBout to board. Upon calling they said they have it in safekeeping so thumbs up in honesty there. Now about sevice the front desk was of little help when asked about uber taxi and semma like he did not know much about it. Not too keen in helping to. As for the space of the room itâs a little too tight and opening your luggage would be a challenge. Not ideal for family
