Guest UserOne of the better (if not the best) hotel chains I’ve stayed at in Taiwan. I’ve visited Taiwan about 10 times and stayed here for 2 nights, and overall I was very satisfied with the experience.
They provide free bicycles (3 hours limit), which is useful for getting around Hualien. Breakfast has a good spread, and there are complimentary ice cream and drinks available in the lobby around the clock. We didn’t realise they also offer late-night supper from 7pm to 9pm, which was honestly as good as a proper dinner buffet, with a good mix of Western and Chinese dishes and even live entertainment.
The room was spacious and well maintained, with no hygiene concerns. Shower water pressure was good. Noise levels were generally fine, though louder sounds like furniture movement could occasionally be heard.
The hotel is conveniently located near a convenience store, restaurants, KTV, and a cinema, and it’s about a 10-minute walk from the station. You can also cycle to the night market within 15 minutes, making it super easy to get around the main area without getting a taxi.
Overall, a very good stay and very good value for money. While a gym would be nice, I would definitely consider staying at other branches on future trips.

Guest UserReceived email from hotel staff (Juan) that they could arrange pick-up service for us if we are arriving via Hualien Train Station. They provide free transfer back to Hualien train station as well after check-out. Grateful for the shuttle service otherwise I would need to take a taxi. By going the extra mile, they offered to send my mom and myself to the bus stop nearby for going to xincheng old street. Every staff member is friendly and very helpful. Seaview room is excellent and we enjoyed the sound of the waves from our bed! Room is clean and brightly illuminated. Breakfast variety is good. They have bicycle for hotel guests too! There’s a convenience store (Family Mart) nearby, few restaurants too, but closed on Tuesday mostly. Overall I had a great stay and will definitely return if I come to Hualien again.

Guest UserThe location is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk directly across from the station. There are also plenty of convenience stores and restaurants nearby, so you have lots of dining options. The hostel lobby is really well-decorated, and there's free coffee and milk tea available, which was perfect for relaxing while waiting to check-in before 3 PM. The room was a four-person dorm with a private bathroom, and my stay was very pleasant. They offer free breakfast, but the selection is a bit limited – mainly just bread with different jams and ham. I had a wonderful time in Hualien! I hope to come back here again someday.

Joe Nathanael ChowA Scenic Stay with a Convenient Catch
My stay at Hotelday Hualien was a bit of a mixed bag. It has some genuinely charming touches and a great view, but its location and certain amenities require some adjustment.
Location & Transportation: The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the Hualien Train Station, which is fantastic if you're arriving by rail. However, I soon realized that the train station is not the city center. The main downtown area is a significant distance away—about a 40-minute walk. This means you'll either need to plan for long walks or rely on taxis and buses to get to the main dining and night market areas. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's something to be aware of.
The Room: The room itself was a highlight. It was spacious and comfortable, providing a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring. The best feature was the large window that faced the train station, with a stunning backdrop of the mountains. It was incredibly scenic and made the room feel bright and open. While the room was comfortable, I did notice that the overall design and some of the furniture felt a bit dated. It's clean and functional, but don't expect a super modern aesthetic.
Amenities & Service: This is where the experience was a bit uneven. The gym was quite disappointing. It only had a stationary bicycle and a treadmill. There were no weights, no multi-gym, nothing for anyone hoping for even a basic strength workout. It felt more like an afterthought than a proper facility.
On the other hand, the service had some truly thoughtful highlights. When we asked for ice, the hotel staff kindly delivered some to our room, which was a nice touch.
The Special Touch: The most memorable part of the stay was a small, heartwarming gesture. The hotel provided us with complimentary postcards. The unique part? They offered to mail them for us, but not right away. They will send them exactly one year later. It's a lovely idea—a little time capsule from your trip that arrives as a surprise in the future.
Overall: Hotelday Hualien offers spacious, comfortable rooms with beautiful mountain views, and its proximity to the train station is a plus for travelers. The thoughtful service, like the ice delivery and the ”postcard to your future self” program, adds a warm, personal touch. However, the distance from the city center and the very basic gym are drawbacks. It's a solid choice for a comfortable night's sleep near the station, especially if you appreciate sentimental gestures, but be prepared for the travel time to the main attractions.

A.kitGreat experiance at The moment by lakeshore! The kids were thrilled by the bunk beds with curtains and privet hangers and lights 😅
It's a complex of buildings by lakeshore, we had a room with amazing mountains and gardens view.
The auto check in station was simple to understand and operate, and suitable for us, since we arrived quite late.
The room design is very cool, everything worked, good water pressure. The shower is separated from the toilet, so it's comfy for friends staying together. For us as a family it didn't matter.
Everything in the minibar was included in the room price, and I tried the cold brew teas, they were excellent!
The breakfast was served in the hotel building next to our hotel, from the same owner. Great buffet, large variety and even marked for allergies!
The hotel has a parking area close by, and it's about 10 minutes drive to Taroko visitors center.
All in all, I recommend this hotel for short stays, if you are with 3 or 4 kids take the bunk beds room for 6, we really enjoyed it.

Guest UserThis hotel is incredibly close to Hualien Train Station, just about a ten-minute walk. On the night I checked in, they kindly and proactively upgraded my room for free. The room itself was very clean, and the solid walls provided excellent soundproofing. Plus, the hotel partners with the Turumo Whale Watching tour, offering convenient pick-up and drop-off services. There's also a gym and a restaurant, and the snack bar on the first floor offers 24/7 service and snacks. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay.

Stayed two days in a quad room.
This was my third stay.
The room was very clean, and the front desk staff was very friendly. If there's no parking available, they'll even move their company car and let you park.
It's across the street from 7-Eleven, and there's also a TP-Link nearby. Zhongmei Street has many delicious restaurants, so it's quite convenient.
If I had to find a negative, it would be:
The rooftop pool is quite small. Even with four people in it, it's usually full. It's too hot during the day and only open until around 9 PM.
The breakfast on the first floor has a good selection of special dishes, but for some reason the air conditioning isn't cooling enough, so the food is a bit warm.
Overall, it's quite good.

Overall a good experience (except one thing - see in the bottom). The location is somewhat central and on the walking promenade, but not very close to the railway station or the waterfront. About 25-35 min walk to the railway station but still okay. About 15 min to the waterfront.
Food options: there are a couple of local restaurants right near across from the promenade, including a noodle shop, a tempura donburi and a fried seafood place - all along the promenade. There's also a PX Mart not too far away, about 5 min walk.
The rooms are spacious and clean, very new renovation (as of 2025, seems like 2023-2024), no fridge in the room (on the first floor only), but there's a kettle. The bed was somewhat stiff but okay.
Overall felt like great value for the location and the quality, and especially the room size.
The only drawback - Easy to fix - was the towels. There was no proper size bathroom towels on my stay in May 2025. The small towels are rather insuficcient for showering.

Loved this place. Excellent value, well run. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clearn. I saw the cleaning staff working all morning every day.
The desk people are helpful.
You have to pay extra for shower towels but I actually think it's a great idea !! We need to preserve the environment. Only use what you need. It's good for the customer too -- because the hotel can give better rates. Every hotel should do this.
