The Woodman Inn

We got married at the Woodman Inn on 11 May 2024 and everything was absolute perfection - I don’t even know where to start about how great it was! The Woodman Inn has been our local for a long time and when we booked our wedding last year we knew we’d be in safe hands, but Jordan, Nadia, Ben and the whole team absolutely smashed our expectations. From the very beginning, the team at the Woodman were so organised and the attention to detail was impeccable. The team are so warm and friendly but also extremely professional - the perfect balance. Nothing was too much trouble and they constantly went above and beyond for us (and our dogs!!) It was no surprise to us that our wedding day went incredibly smoothly without any hiccups (even when we overran on timings due to speeches etc). The room and the gardens looked amazing, the food was phenomenal (even for 120 people) and the staff were extremely attentive, kind and polite. We had our two dogs with us on our wedding day and they were treated like royalty by eveyone at the Woodman! They were allowed in the venue and they were given the cutest doggy package with a dog bed, food, treats and a ball each. Nadia and the team were so helpful with our dogs on the day. Our photographer, DJ and florist were all recommended to us by the Woodman and they were all first class. When it comes to weddings Jordan and the team know exactly what they’re doing! We couldn’t recommend the Woodman Inn enough as a wedding venue - it really is perfection and we have had so many compliments about the venue, the staff and the food. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding venue they have ever been to. Not to mention the rooms are so comfortable and clean and the breakfast was delicious! All of our guests had a 5 star stay. Massive thank you to Jordan, Nadia, Ben and all the staff at the Woodman for our dream wedding day! We wish we could do it all again ♥️

Had a fantastic stay over the weekend for a friend's wedding. We were looked after from start to finish expertly. The food was fantastic, the room was lovely and clean and the bed so comfortable. The actual wedding was great from start to end. Thank you for making our friends wedding day so special and taking care of all of us throughout our stay . Will definitely be back .

This is the 3rd time staying at the Woodman. Every time is an experience. From the moment you walk through the door of your room you feel as though time and effort have been put into making the customer feel at ease, with little luxuries like a coffee maker, nice biscuits, a superb bathroom with gorgeous shower gel and hand lotion and a really comfortable bed. Plus the hotel is situated in a beautiful part of the country.

Lovely location, with some great staff but didn't quite live upto expectations of a 5*AA venue, room had several issues over our 2 night stay, and I did find paying in advance without even seeing my room or having any kind of experience strange, I was not advised of this and no receipt was provided,I only new when my bank told me. Aside from afew issues I can't fault the overall venue or team in general, but maybe standards have slipped slightly, would be a shame as I can imagine what great would look like.

Lovely place with beautiful old features done in a modern way. Food was amazing, though menu a bit limited. It was great for the wedding we attended, and really well organised. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was lovely with comfy bed and amazing shower. Beautiful location, handy to station

excellent venue,great food,great staff and a**osphere,stopped for one night due to a wedding really enjoyed , i would reccomend the woodman inn to anybody. the food was great reasonably priced .the location is very scenic

The room was very warm and comfortable. Decor was good. Shower was hot and powerful. Drinks tray with tea, coffee maker and biscuits very useful. Room was excellent for dogs as on the ground floor with doors to access inside and outside directly. Lovely location and we had a pleasant local walk which was very muddy for the last section. All the staff very friendly and helpful and made a fuss of our two dogs. Evening meal in the bar was excellent. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back as sometimes visit relatives nearby.

We had another very pleasant stay at The Woodman. The food was excellent and the room of a high standard. We have stayed a few times before and always enjoy our visits. The countryside is beautiful. We will definitely be back!
