"It was a bit confusing because when we booked this hotel on Trip.com, it's listed as Tianmen Hotel. However, when we reached the hotel, we discovered it's called Thousand Hotel.
The rooms were clean and comfortable with air-conditioning working well and shower flow strong.
They do offer pickup or drop off (choose 1 only) to the High Speed Rail station.
Location wise, you still need to walk about 500m to reach Tianmen Mountain ticket counter.
Overall, it's still a nice hotel to stay in."

The rooms are spacious and feature incredibly comfortable beds, ensuring great nights sleep. Furthermore, the breakfast buffet is fantastic. There is a wonderful variety with something for everybody."

Location: although not super close to cable car station, its a nice quartier to walk around (restaurants, little stores, fruit stalls), theres a big stone in front of it.
Room: spacious, low light, big window, no smell, good bed, clean. Ask for high floor or front building room to avoid restaurant smell from the street.
They can gently help you to purchase tickets for attractions at good price. Use phone translator."

"1. The service is good, the boss is enthusiastic, and the room was upgraded. The facilities are very new, and there is a swimming pool in the backyard. The only problem is that the mosquitoes are too strong. The air conditioning is very powerful, the bathroom has separate wet and dry areas, and a smart toilet, but the space is too small.
2. The scenery is superb, and Tianmen Cave is opposite. It is a real pleasure to sit in front of the small table for making tea and look at the Tianmen Cave
3. It is about 10 minutes' drive from Tianmen Cave Cableway, which is more suitable for self-driving tourists. Parking is available at the door.
4. The beef factory restaurant nearby is delicious.
5. The breakfast is very exquisite and tastes good. I didn't try their home-cooked dishes, but I can tell from the breakfast that they must taste good.
Mind the point
It's too close to the airport, with a flight every 15 minutes on average. The noise is very loud, but I don't mind it, but if you have trouble sleeping, I don't recommend it.
The passage upstairs is narrow, which makes it difficult to carry large luggage"

"Trying to find the hotel was the slightly difficult part unless you know what to look for, but they do have a big poster on the entrance at street level. The apartment was lovely and light. The reception staff were very helpful and also helped us buy tickets for Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park. Very good location close to local shops. Do bring ear plugs though as during morning you can hear the traffic below. Would still recommend them. Good view from the room. Catch a didi to the intersection of the Jiefang Road and Yingbin Road. About 2-3 mins walk from there to building entrance. Floor 17A."

I had a truly wonderful stay at Zhangjiajie Four Seasons Lai. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make my visit smooth and memorable. Despite a language barrier, they worked tirelessly to help me plan my itinerary, book tickets, and navigate the area with ease. Their patience and friendliness made me feel completely at home.
The room was spotless and well-maintained, with thoughtful touches that made a big difference- especially the free laundry facilities, which were a lifesaver during my trip. The location is perfect, just a short distance from the scenic Baofeng Lake and other major attractions.
If you're visiting Zhangjiajie and want a comfortable, welcoming place to stay with genuinely helpful staff, I can't recommend this hotel enough. Thank you to everyone at Four Seasons Lai for making my trip so special!"

Good location, easy to find but not quite convenient for parking. Close to Tianmen Park if that is part of the trip plan.
Got free upgrade, so I could stay next to my parents. Two rooms with their own yards are super soothing.
Good facilities generally, but there could be some improvements too, such as the floor in my parents’ room, and maybe add some sticker on switches to avoid some confusions.
Other than that, I love the foam pillows, much better than normal soft pillows in hotels, also love the comb it provides in the bathroom. Good toilet and good bath amenities like shampoo and shower gel. Recommend to provide bathrobe too instead of waiting for request from guests.
I also love the auto curtains and traditional styled wooden door.
I couldn’t catch breakfast for my travel plan but parents did, they love it. Services from the host was great, especially when it comes to laundry service. He also helped with parking.

1. Hotel Experience & Unmatched Hospitality
My stay at XiFuWan Resort Hotel was truly unforgettable—one of the most heartfelt and sincere displays of hospitality I’ve encountered in all my travels. A family-owned hotel opened in 2024, it makes you feel like a guest in someone’s home rather than a commercial customer.
As a solo traveller on a spontaneous trip, I had very little planned. The hotel staff kindly helped secure attraction tickets to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain, and ZJJ Grand Canyon, even managing to get them at slightly lower prices than the official sites. The owner—formerly with the Zhangjiajie Tourism Bureau—also provided invaluable advice on routes and timings, tailored to my stay. This made a huge difference in navigating the expansive park efficiently.
2. Cleanliness, Comfort & Amenities
The Exceptional Business Double Room was impeccably clean—easily among the cleanest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Rather than a work desk, the room had a lounge table and two chairs by the window, creating a cosy spot to unwind and enjoy the scenery.
A wonderful bonus was the complimentary laundry service, which was thoughtful and convenient, especially after outdoor excursions.
3. Generosity & Personal Care
I arrived early in the morning and was offered a free early check-in. On departure day, the staff also offered late check-out due to my evening flight, which I truly appreciated.
When I felt unwell on my first day, the owner’s father—a retired doctor— kindly offered a medical consultation and continued to check in on me. Their level of attentiveness was deeply moving.
To top it off, the hotel gifted all guests a box of fresh local fruits, reflecting their warmth and generosity.
4. Location, Accessibility & Language Support
The hotel is located in a fantastic area—peaceful, yet close to numerous eateries, shops, and amenities. The convenience of having everything within walking distance enhanced the entire experience.
Despite being in a mountainous region, the hotel features a built-in lift, making it very accessible—something that’s not always common in small towns.
For English-speaking travellers, one of the owners is a former English teacher, which made basic communication smooth and reassuring.
5. Community Feel
The hotel sits beside a local primary school, which added a lovely, heartwarming touch to the environment. There’s a strong sense of community and kindness, not only within the hotel, but throughout the surrounding area. For those who value authentic, local experiences, this place feels like home.
6. Final Thoughts
Although XiFuWan Resort Hotel only began accepting foreign tourists a few months ago, it is an absolute hidden gem that deserves more recognition among international visitors. If you’re considering a stay in Zhangjiajie, I wholeheartedly recommend giving this hotel a try. The care, hospitality, and personal touch truly set it apart.
Without a doubt, I’ll be staying here again the next time I return to ZJJ.

CChristian CrothersThe hotel arranged for Mr. Ma to pick my wife and I up by private car because we arrived on a late flight from the airport at 9pm. All the local restaurants were closed so Mr. Ma arranged for the hotel kitchen to make us a hot meal even after the kitchen was closed for the night and we had not notified them ahead of time. His support on our arrival made us feel like we were part of his family. We had not yet purchased admission tickets for the National Grand Canyon, Huanglong Cave, or Avatar Mountains and A Sheng took care of bundling our tickets. He also kept in touch in the mornings to make sure we don't leave too late to enjoy the local attractions. Both Mr. Ma and Ting Ting gave us great recommendations for local restaurants that were on China's must eat list for 2024. Miss Ting Ting also offers a tea ceremony with 24 hour advance notice. The top floor of the guest house is the kitchen where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served for additional charge but the food and convenience were very well worth the price. Miss Ting Ting also makes fresh omelettes on demand during the breakfast service. Mr Hu was able to provide park maps and special tips for how to best optimize the time for all the attractions we wanted to see for the three night stay we had booked with the hotel. The mountain view and hospitality were both superb. We would definitely return because we did not have enough time to book tickets for Tianmen Mountain which was on our must do list. The room was romantic and cozy. Everything was clean and the ambiance of the grounds is amazing. Thank you so much to the staff. The stay was memorable.

GGuest UserWow, they don't just offer hand-drawn maps; the landlady also provided personalized guidance tailored to our schedule and energy levels. Armed with their map, we slowly explored the beautiful scenery of Zhangjiajie, which filled each of us with delight. We originally planned to stay only one night, but with such a stunning location and such a heartwarming guesthouse, we decided to extend our stay for another night. It's only a 3-minute walk directly to the East Gate of the scenic area, and the Biaozhi Gate is also nearby. There are plenty of affordable breakfast restaurants in the vicinity. The rooms are clean, quiet, and incredibly charming in their simplicity. The landlady is so kind and always reminded us to bring water. Every day, there were many guests, including numerous international visitors, and everyone seemed truly happy. We're incredibly fortunate to have encountered such a wonderful guesthouse during our travels, and we'll definitely be recommending it to all our friends.

- before our arrival, we already felt the warmth and genuine hospitality.They patiently dialogued with us to plan how best to maximise our time during our 5D4N stay with them, and even considered the days after as we are moving to another homestay. They thoughtfully introduced and mapped out local attractions, helping us make the most of our trip.
- We appreciated their transparency when sharing their offerings and discounted rates, giving us space to compare without pressure. This gave us peace of mind even before checking in.
- One of the biggest highlights was how the homestay helped bridge the transportation gap. Despite the secluded location, they arranged reliable partner drivers who charged us at very competitive Didi rates, making travel easy and affordable without needing to worry about timing.
- We also loved the friendly dogs and cat around the homestay. They brought so much joy and warmth, and playing with them became part of our daily routine.

- Upon arrival, he noticed we had caught a cold and politely ask if he could prepare herbal tea for us. This became our daily comfort drink throughout the stay. We even felt shy asking for it so often, but he and the team kindly reminded us it was part of their care.
- One unforgettable moment was during a heavy downpour. With the road under government maintenance, access to the homestay became extra challenging for that day. Butler Jiang appeared with multiple umbrellas and a buggy (not something we had seen before!). Since cars couldn’t reach the homestay directly, he walked down to escort guests personally—soaked in rain but making sure each of us stayed dry. When we got on the buggy, we realized he had even opened umbrellas to keep the seats dry. We were deeply touched by his dedication. Upon returning, we were greeted by a joyful gathering of guests enjoying a mini party at the pavilion—a sight that perfectly captured the warmth and spirit of this homestay.

- After we moved to our second homestay, we once got stranded by the roadside because of Didi GPS error that made it difficult for a ride-hailing driver to locate the place. The only option offered by our then homestay was to dropped us at the base of a mountain, where we waited over 15 minutes with no success. Luckily, driver sun from Celestial Valley Homestay recognized us and offered us a ride, so we followed him back to Celestial Valley, and were warmly welcomed again with complimentary tea and another chance to enjoy the view and play with the pets.
- driver sun also took on our business and brought us to the city and even took us on another round trip to a faraway attraction. We were no longer guests at that point, yet the hospitality continued. We were truly thankful for the extended service and kindness.
This homestay gave us more than just a place to stay—it offered warmth, care, and unforgettable memories. It's this genuine hospitality that makes Celestial Valley such a rare gem.

SShuchengPerfect location within Wulingyuan surrounded by plenty of local, affordable places to eat. Only a 20 minute walk from the main entrance of the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. The staff were very friendly, helping us to buy discounted tickets and planning four days of activities. They guided us on how best to navigate all the attractions. The hotel also offers free washing and drying facilities. The rooms themselves are very clean and spacious.
Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to Zhangjiajie!

GGuest UserThe staff is super friendly and helpful. Special thanks go out to Cherry who arranged all of our transport from and too the hotel and provided helpful information. She is very responsive on WeChat. Also thanks to Nikki, who let us stay a little bit longer to enjoy our day! The chinese restaurant in the resort has tasty food and good staff as well.
The only advice I want to give is that the whole resort is in need of renovations. Many years have gone by and you can see that. The room was good, but the communal spaces, restaurant, pool etc. Could use a fresh up.

Only one of the beds had a curtain around it and it was already taken. Bed was alright. There's a lock on the entrance to the hostel that I wasn't told how to unlock so just sort of had to knock and hope someone would let me in then theres a lock on the room doors but was also not given a key to that so it just stays open

Some of the showers look a bit grubby and the toilet smelt a bit funky but they do the job

As with most 24 hours receptions I've encountered in china, it is not really 24 hours. The guy manning the desk seemed pretty friendly and some guests were sitting with him on the bottom floor and they mentioned that we could join them to go out to eat as well so it seems like a pretty social kind of hostel. I believe they can support you with booking tickets to Tianmen and Zhangjiajie

I think they also have a cafe. Again no one was at reception and I didn't have their wechat so I couldn't ask about luggage storage but they seemed fine when I came to pick it up later in the day so there's that as well
