"Close to the airport. I met two young people who had flown from Melbourne to Sydney, and walked over from Sydney's domestic terminal. The room facilities are a bit dated, but it probably would have been considered a five-star hotel in the 90s. There's only one power outlet on one side of the bed. Some light switches aren't by the bedside, so you have to get out of bed to turn them off, like the hallway light. The room is quiet. There's a hotel shuttle running all day between Sydney's three terminals. It costs 12 AUD per person. It takes about 20 minutes to reach T1, the furthest terminal. If there are many people, a taxi would be more cost-effective. Breakfast is a simple Western style. For Chinese options, there's congee with pickled vegetables. The pickled vegetables were fermented bamboo shoots, similar to those found in Luosifen (river snail noodles), haha."

This hostel also features a television in a common area and a vending machine. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Make yourself at home in one of the 200 guestrooms featuring microwaves. Prepare your meals in the shared/communal kitchen. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Bathrooms have showers and hair dryers.

"The location was super, right in the center and only a 30-minute walk to the Opera House. However, the people there tend to stick to their own groups, and it's really hard to strike up a conversation, so it's not ideal for solo travelers. The kitchen was okay, adequately equipped. Unfortunately, the rooms didn't have curtains on the beds (which were very shaky), and there are only lockers that you have to pay for. They don't explain much to you; you have to figure out where everything is and how it works yourself (for example, that you need to bring an extra cooler bag with a zipper)... If you can, try not to get a room facing outwards – there's so much noise all night long that even earplugs won't help. So, overall, it's pretty mediocre. The location is good if you're out and about all day anyway and just need a place to sleep."

"Overall, it's pretty good. Just a heads-up that you can feel vibrations from the trains passing underneath the building. If that bothers you, be aware that the front desk isn't very accommodating when it comes to changing rooms. However, everything else is fine. There's a supermarket and a bus stop downstairs, so transportation is very convenient."

"The room was tiny and had no windows. What's worse, the window shown in the WeChat ad was clearly photoshopped! Each room has a skylight, similar to those found in an aviary, and it can't be closed. So, when the sun comes up, the room gets incredibly bright. However, the room itself was quite tastefully decorated, and the location is great. There's a fantastic and affordable Chinese restaurant called Jinji right across the street, and it's only a 3-minute walk to the subway. The key highlight for me, as someone who drives, is the free parking. There's a bar downstairs and guest rooms on the second floor."

"Cleanliness of the room was great. Staff were very friendly and the location of the premises to where we were going for a wedding was good. Unfortunately the hotel is undergoing renovations at present and the walk from the hotel parking to the reception was not the best but I'm sure once these renovations are complete, the access door will be re-opened. Overall, I enjoyed our overnight atayhere."

Amazing
AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance to Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and the Royal Botanic Garden. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the room view was disappointing. We booked a 'Skyline King Room,' but there was no skyline visible at all; we just looked out onto old, dilapidated rooftops. The room also felt quite small.

GGuest UserI’ve stayed in many hostels before and understand you sometimes get what you pay for, but my stay at Wake Up! Sydney Central was disappointing. We booked a private room for three with a shared bathroom. The room had a strong “slept-in” smell which seemed to come from the actual pillows and bedding rather than the sheets. The shared bathrooms were also quite dirty, and during our five-day stay I only saw them cleaned once. The kitchen on the first floor is far too small for the number of guests. Fridges and cupboards were completely full, and with only a few cooktops, sinks and microwaves it’s very difficult to cook or find a place to eat. The hostel is very focused on partying, with events like pizza nights and free drinks in the kitchen area. It’s also quite noisy, with partying and heavy doors slamming day and night, so don’t expect much sleep. Considering how expensive Sydney is, this place still felt overpriced. The building is run down (cracked sinks), beds have thin mattresses, and we even saw a large cockroach one day. Staff simply said, “this is Australia.” There’s also no ramp at the entrance, so heavy luggage has to be carried up the stairs. The only real positive is the great location.

XXiaoyouyouA perfect and comfortable stay to conclude our Sydney, Australia trip. Upon landing at Sydney domestic airport, I saw on Google Maps 🗺️ that the hotel wasn't far 🏨, so my son and I walked there, which took about 23 minutes. The moment we opened the door, we were amazed. It felt just like coming home. The front desk staff were also very good and nice. Finding food around the hotel was very convenient, with Northeastern Chinese, Sichuanese restaurants, and Asian supermarkets. A large Australian WWS supermarket was also within a 10-minute walk. Mascot train station is within walking distance, and it's just 5 stops directly to Circular Quay, known as the most beautiful station in the Southern Hemisphere. Our 3-night stay was absolutely fantastic! 🈵

NNaiyougegewuSydney Central YHA is the best-equipped and most pleasant hostel I've ever stayed in! I was in a 4-bed female dorm. There are power outlets right by the bed, facing downwards, so if your adapter isn't tight, it might fall out. However, there are USB and USB-C ports directly, which is super convenient. Each bed also has a reading light and a blackout curtain, offering great privacy. The kitchen and dining area are huge, with a complete array of cooking utensils that are very practical and exceptionally clean; everyone is very considerate. There's a large supermarket, Coles, right near the hostel, making it easy to buy groceries. During my stay, I cooked for myself every day – it was delicious, hygienic, and affordable. The best part is its location right by Central Station. Trains, buses, and all kinds of transport converge here, offering excellent connectivity and making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. Accessing the lifts, rooms, and communal bathrooms all require card access, ensuring top-notch security.

PPengtaaleinasiThe Crown Tower in Sydney was an absolutely perfect experience! Unobstructed panoramic views of Sydney Harbour, with the Opera House and Harbour Bridge perfectly framed. The high-altitude infinity pool was stunning, and the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and equipped with top-notch facilities. The service was efficient and incredibly attentive. The dining was excellent and getting around was a breeze. It truly boasts the city's best viewpoints, offering an unparalleled sense of luxury. Without a doubt, it's Sydney's premier hotel – a definite must-book!

HHuanhuanHere's my personal take. Upon entering the lobby, the bellhops barely glanced my way, instead warmly greeting foreign guests. Heading upstairs for check-in, even with open desks, I still had a bit of a wait. My son and I were speaking Chinese the whole time. The front desk lady, however, spoke exclusively English to my son, and her attitude was decent. After check-in, she surprised me by speaking a few sentences in Mandarin; I was taken aback, realizing she could speak Chinese all along! Other services were practically nonexistent. The hotel's service awareness is just terrible; there were almost no greetings, no hellos. Only one or two staff members would give a forced, insincere nod. The room cleaning was the most puzzling. I made it clear I didn't want the room cleaned when I was out, and when I returned, they'd formally ask if I needed it cleaned. Out of five days, only one day was the room actually tidied after I left. I even encountered their 'inspection team' entering the room. There was a long hair still on the bathroom door – clearly left by the previous guest, as no one in my family has hair that long. On the other remaining days, they simply said they'd change the towels and empty the trash, and their attitude was quite good. What truly baffled me was the lack of complimentary bottled water in the room. I was told the tap water from the kitchen was potable. Looking through Ctrip reviews, it's clear many rooms, including the apartment I stayed in, have two paper-boxed mineral waters. I have no idea why we didn't receive any for even one day. Our room was placed right off the elevator, with an emergency exit right next to the door. This made me wonder if this was specifically arranged for Ctrip customers, or if there was another reason. All in all, the only thing going for it is its location; everything else is worthless!

Ggu****The hotel's location is excellent. Within a 5 to 10-minute walk, you can reach Chinatown, Paddy's Market, Darling Square, Darling Harbour, and Central Station. The room size was adequate, and it was clean and tidy upon arrival, with daily housekeeping being prompt and thorough. The front desk service was also on point. However, there are a few minor drawbacks: 1. The lighting in the lobby area isn't great; it's generally too dim and looks like it needs a refurbishment. Hopefully, they'll update it soon. 2. We believe our room was in the newer extension of the hotel. There's a noticeable difference in floor levels between the two buildings, and the connection between them is entirely stairs, which is really inconvenient when you have luggage. This also needs an update. 3. The flooring under the carpet in our room was bulging in places and requires maintenance.

GGuest UserWe had a brilliant experience at the Langham for our wedding anniversary! I forgot how much I like the Langham brand. From the pink ribbon around the toilet paper to the sleep ammenities (we asked for the sleep pillow mist and the room diffuser) to the suggested third eye massage technique and the chamomile tea before bedtime, we felt totally pampered and taken care of. Reservation was made for our celebratory dinner with fine steak dinner over the fantastic view of the Opera House. In room breakfast was delivered on time and the quantity copious. The Spanish bell boy was helpful and friendly. We were also upgraded to a harbour view room to our delight. Location was convenient to walk either to Barangaroo or the Rocks, for ferry ride or metro. Very pleased to have chosen The Langham, it was absolutely the right decision for us!
