"The room is a good size. Each floor has an ice machine, and irons are available. There's a Western restaurant downstairs, and it's very convenient for shopping and dining nearby. We took the subway to the Sendai Museum and saw the Lu Xun statue. To visit the Guanyin statue, you'll need to take a public bus or the sightseeing loop bus."

"The room was quiet, clean, and looked very new. The front desk staff spoke fluent English and provided excellent service. The building's earthquake resistance is outstanding โ early this morning, there was an M5.7 earthquake in Miyagi Prefecture (intensity 3), and I felt both the bed and the entire building shaking (O_O)! Despite that, it felt very secure! You can stay here with complete peace of mind!
Complimentary toiletries are available on the 1st floor, along with tea and coffee sachets. On the 2nd floor, you'll find washing machines, dryers, a water dispenser, vending machines, and an ice maker.
The room was quite spacious. Both the hairdryer and showerhead were high-end Refa brand, which was a pleasant and novel touch. Daily complimentary bottled water is also provided.

"Everyone especially cleaning workers polite & helpful. Room small but locution great & toilet well equipped & clean. Lots of restaurants around. The local market nearby is a must-go. One minus though, counter staff can't easily understand our requests. Sendai is a great place but English is not a common tool for communication."

"I stayed for three nights in total, trying out three different room types: a standard twin, a superior twin, and a regular double. The hotel is conveniently located within a 10-minute walk from Sendai Station. The beds were incredibly comfortable, just the right firmness, and there was a good selection of pillows with varying softness. The soundproofing was also excellent, making for a very quiet stay. I slept wonderfully all three nights. In the lobby, you could pick up things like cleansing oil, facial cleanser, and bath salts, which was a nice touch. I enjoyed a comfortable bath in the hotel bathroom every evening, and the rooms were kept very clean. On the last day, I booked the hotel breakfast for 1450 JPY. The variety was quite good, including Sendai specialties like ox tongue curry and zunda mochi (sweet edamame dumplings). The last order time at 9:30 AM was reasonable, allowing me to relax until the 11 AM check-out."

"This hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from JR Sendai Station, or just one subway stop away. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming, and communication in English was seamless. You need your key card to operate the elevator, which adds an extra layer of security. The room was surprisingly spacious for a business hotel, with new furnishings and a large bathroom. It even had a bay window, a small sofa, and a desk โ truly a pleasant surprise! The bed was also very comfortable.
On the ground floor, you can pick up various amenities, including DHC cleansing oil and skincare products, and even bath salts and mouthwash.
There's a convenience store and McDonald's right outside the hotel, making dining very convenient. Many bus routes stop right outside, and there's also a highway bus terminal nearby, which makes getting to other places very easy.
I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Sendai."

"Great location! Few minutes walk from Sendai station and surround with lots of shops, restaurants and department store. There are 7-eleven and Starbucks at the first floor. The room is very nice. Everything is new, clean, with good space for two 28โ luggage to open at the same time and we still can walk around the room. The staffs were so nice and provided prompt support. We found problem about the hair dryer at midnight and the staff changed a new one to us immediately.
There are free amenities that you could pick at lobby.
Highly recommend and would definitely choose this hotel if we have a chance to visit Sendai again ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป"

"Stayed at this hotel for a night with my mom. The environment is lovely and it's not too far from Sendai Station's East Exit. Plus, there's a comfortable public bath on the upper floor. However, the street outside the East Exit isn't very lively at night, and there aren't many dining options.
The room itself was spotlessly clean and a good size.
Figure 3 shows a Starbucks you pass on the way from the hotel to Sendai Station, with a great view. Figure 4 is probably the view from the hotel room."

MM262711****The hotel is super close to Sendai Station, making transportation very convenient. It's also near Tohoku University, Sendai Asaichi (morning market), observation decks, and 7-Eleven.
The hotel service is excellent; check-in and check-out were quick and easy.
The rooms are well-equipped, clean, and tidy, with water and toiletries provided. When leaving, I noticed in the reception area that the hotel has won many awards. The breakfast buffet isn't huge, but the variety is decent, typically Japanese. They even have Sendai's famous Zunda Shake, so no need to go all the way to the station to buy one! Whether for leisure or business, it's a solid, comfortable stay without any real drawbacks.
On the day before I left Japan, there was a tsunami and earthquake. I was in such a panic late at night that I ran down to the lobby in my room slippers to consult with the manager. I apologize for that; please forgive me. I later realized that the staff on duty in the lobby were incredibly polite, warm, and helpful in their replies, and they all remained very calm.

GGuest UserHotel Monterey is centrally located just outside the Sendai Station and is easily seen after you exit the station. The staff was very courteous and helpful at the time of check in. Language could be an issue but is easily manageable. I was offered a single room in a lower floor and on my request for a room on the higher floor, without any hesitation I was allotted a double room on the higher floor.
The ambience of the restaurant for breakfast was great and the variety of food served catered to Japanese and western. The breakfast was delicious.
I had to extend my stay and this was also done seamlessly without any issues.
Overall a great hotel centrally located with plenty of shopping around. If I come to Sendai again, I will return to Hotel Monterey if I visit Sendai again.

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located near the station, with a large shopping mall nearby. There is an onsen and a restaurant in the hotel itself, but the breakfast cost more than stated in the description.
The rooms are equipped with a shower, TV, refrigerator, air conditioner, and dehumidifier, and the beds are quite comfortable. Pajamas are provided, and other amenities can be picked up at the reception if needed

LLIANGLlANGThe vending machine doesn't accept new banknotes yet, so I had to ask the cleaning lady for old ones. Every time I go to do laundry, I have to walk through the lobby, basically shamelessly in my slippers and pajamas. I wish the laundry room was on the second floor. The currency exchange machine should be near the laundry room, but I couldn't find it and frankly, I was too lazy to look (=๏ผดใง๏ผด=). I also couldn't find a dry cleaning bag in the room; it would be great if one could be provided for every guest.

It's also great for easily exploring the surrounding area on foot and is very close to the Lu Xun Memorial Hall. The room itself was a bit more spacious than typical Japanese hotel rooms.

Hotel was clean and we were given a family room instead of just a double bed room with windows facing the main road where the shopping streets are. Staff were all nice.Price was reasonable as it was not a busy season. Breakfast was reasonable for the price. Would love to stay again next time we are on that side. Thank you.

The breakfast is plentiful, the environment is clean, and the location is right next to the shopping street. It's also very close to Sendai Station, only about a ten-minute walk.

Friendly desk staff, helpful and accommodating. Well informed and willing to help.
The room was small but enough for one night. The bed was really comfortable as well.
The hotel has a Hot Bad that accommodates 4~6 people at once.
Really wonderful being able to take a very hot bad at such large place.
and all at no extra charge.
Only thing bad I have to say about the place is there was this smell of โfreshโ paint all throughout.
Bothered me a bit, but it was easy to put up with.
I will be staying again in October and look forward to it.
Unfortunately I took no photos. Will do so next time.
