"Service: Let me start with service, as I immediately felt unfairly treated during check-in. It was our birthday (August 20th) on the day we checked in, and after informing the receptionist, not only did we not receive a single birthday greeting (not even a simple 'Happy Birthday!'), but I was also told that the hotel doesn't offer any special services or courtesies and that I could purchase a cake myself from a shop. This level of service is utterly inconsistent with a Crown Hotel and was profoundly disappointing! I provided feedback to the front desk during check-out. While they offered an apology and champagne, it was a classic case of too little, too late. A birthday only comes once a year, and the disappointment lingered.
Facilities: The facilities are generally new. The shower features a handheld showerhead, which is a great convenience for families with young children (many hotels in Australia surprisingly lack these). The bedding was incredibly comfortable. Disposable toiletries, bottled water, and slippers were all provided (we had brought our own, as these are often not standard in many Australian hotels).
Cleanliness: The room was immaculately clean. The bathtub was spotless, making it perfectly fine for our child to enjoy a bath.
Location: The hotel's location is excellent, with easy access to dining and public transport. While there's a major establishment/casino nearby, which means a lot of foot traffic, room access requires a key card, so we felt very secure."
