No air conditioning OR fan! Went to bed to the sound of very LOUD, live disco music from the pool area. I complained repeatedly but ended up having to use ear plugs, hold the pillow over my ear, and eventually take a sleeping pill. In the morning, unbelievably, I woke to loud construction noise as they were erecting scaffolding for renovations right across the hall from my bedroom door. Then they let it be known that they had fumigation of the entire hotel (including the beds) at 10AM. I made sure to get out of there before that.

This hotel is a disgrace. First impressions are fooling, red carpet treatment with facecloth and juice on arrival. The rooms however are another story. The room we had was disgraceful. It was beyond repair in many ways, flimsy rattling windows, noisy corridor, dirty floor, mouldy and dirty bathroom with no water pressure, basin that did not drain, toilet that barely flushed, and the shower flooded the entire bathroom floor. No bath mat was provided and I was looked at like I was requesting the impossible when I asked for a bath mat and extra towels to clean up the water. Fortunately the bedding was clean and the mosquito net was functioning to help protect from the mosquitos in the room. As well as that the water pressure was ordinary, and the water from the shower, at best was luke warm. There was a party outside our room, initially told music it would wind down at 9pm, but at 11pm it was still going. This hotel is not recommended and we should have complained, but sadly lacked energy after travelling all day. Never again!

I stayed here for one night on October 11th. I loved that there was a balcony to sit and relax. The bed was extremely comfortable. The restaurant service was excellent. The waitresses were extremely accommodating, which was greatly appreciated. The entire Staff at the Hotel was so nice and came to introduce themselves to me. Housekeeping was great. I asked for more towels and I got them right away. The grounds are beautiful. This is definitely the place to stay if you’re in the area considering there’s only two Hotels.

Collins at the bar is the best..... He is so professional and kind He is easy to interact with I felt so so special Please promote him any time soon The service was amazing I also love the hot shower The duvet are amazing I was here for a 2 days workshop and I really loved everything

Golf Hotel Kakamega is a lovely place with very welcoming staff personal. I visit it the second time and they although improving over the time. The rooms are renovated and have everything you need. Organising workshops with golf hotel is always a pleasure. Thank everybody for this great experience

We stayed in the Golf Hotel for the second time and would Like to give IT an excellent review. The rooms Had a wonderful balcony and the Surrounding are very Green, beds are wonderful. Everythingbwas very proper and Well maintained The staff were outstanding and deserve a Special mentiin for their friendliness. 5 Stars !

I highly recommend the Gulf Hotel in Kakamega to anyone visiting the region and especially to international travelers. The hotel is beautiful and has many amenities. The staff is friendly and helpful in every way. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast buffet is so good! The rooms are well appointed and clean and the beds are very comfortable! I will be back!
