"Location is pretty decent, near JJ night market but far from Safari and Elephant World.
Service is generally great, friendly staffs over the resort and nice swimming pool.
The room is alil rundown but well maintained. Will be better if the water power from the shower can be greater as the flow is little and slow even for a small size man."
"Hotel and room was clean but the hotel room was a bit too expensive for what it basically was. Paid a little less for another hotel room nearby earlier which was way more luxurious and modern. Anyway, nice place."
"We have stayed at several U Hotel branches, and this one truly stands out for its exceptional service. The staff warmly welcomed us and were very friendly, making us feel comfortable throughout our stay. They were proactive in accommodating additional requests, and even the housekeeping staff went above and beyond to assist us, there was a small gap under the door where mosquitoes could enter the room, but the maid quickly addressed it by placing a cloth to seal it. We were genuinely impressed by their attentiveness and dedication to ensuring a pleasant experience. The only area for improvement would be the warm water system, as it didn’t function consistently. Apart from that, everything else was excellent"

"The breakfast is exquisite and delicious, the log feels good in the room, the green environment is good, the riverside restaurant has a good view, the green trees become cute, the scenery is good, the blue sky, green water and the air are good, the service is good, the hotel location is good, not many tourists are quiet and good , The elderly and children say yes."
"This is the second time to use the service of @plakan Resort. The service is very good, the facilities are complete, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is good. It is right by the river, very suitable for relaxing on vacation. I really want to relax. The room is spacious enough to get a pool view room. The important thing is that you can travel easily. There is an opportunity to definitely use the service again."
"It used to be a very good hydrophilic hotel, right by the river, at a reasonable price. The first time I lived was 9 years ago, and it was very quiet at night. But this time I checked in, the music of the merchants across the river was huge. It didn't stop at 12 o'clock in the middle of the night. It came again at 6 o'clock in the morning. It was fried and I couldn't sleep at all. Reflected with the front desk, but the hotel couldn't help it."
"Extended our stay at Ananzitra was the best decision ever. The location was superb, complimentary breakfast served every morning, amazing staff too. Can’t thank them enough for the wonderful stay in Kanchanaburi!"
"Located about 7km north west of the town, the staff are all friendly and helpful. I have rented a small motorbike to get me around, a necessity which means I can go where and when I desire, small money so no problem!
Have been to the cemeteries and museums to pay my respect to ALL who suffered during those darkest of days. I have also been to the original wooden bridge constructed by the POW’s and others, it is located in the JEATH museum adjacent to the bridge that is in use these days. Entry cost 50 Baht, and there is so much to see that I took two hours inside, would recommend a morning visit so you can view the many items and read the facts behind them at your leisure.
The museum has been set up by a local man and is most definitely worth visiting. 100% value for money! I mentioned to a Thai man inside that we were so grateful that people around the area did try to ease the suffering of the POWs, risking their own necks by doing so.
My mother was an innocent child at 7 years old, alongside her mother and little sister she waved goodbye to her father, John Francis Egan, he said he was going to work for a while!! After working in Turkey, his ANZAC unit were moved on to Italy, to partake in one of the harder campaigns of the war. His life was taken by a German bullet at Mount Casino, alongside many many others!
Please understand how one can feel. I try my hardest to be non judgmental and tolerant these days. I have not walked in your shoes and do not know your story.
“Footsteps in the sand” comes to mind at this moment. I have PTSD myself, and I knew coming to Kanchanaburi may get emotional, and it has.
Now my mother is 88 years young, and became a great grandma for the second time two weeks ago. Apologies if it got too personal, started as a review of the Phoo Tawan hotel.
Words are insufficient, our gratitude to all who risked their own lives and those that paid the ultimate price.
Life is precious, please enjoy the moment.
Peace, love and joy to all who inhabit this world.

Outstanding
LLennart HagenLovely hotel with a serene river view, clean rooms, and friendly staff. A perfect retreat. The breakfast buffet was decent but nothing out the ordinary. Still, would come back at any time
GGuest UserThe owner is lovely, kind, and very friendly. The room is clean, you can choose the room, the air conditioner is cool, the atmosphere is good, there are activities to do for the same price, there is a very delicious rice soup breakfast. If you want to eat something more, you can order it. It is an accommodation where you can order food to eat in the room, there is also a barbecue pork that you can order. The room has a rooftop, the view is very beautiful.
AAlvinOngIt’s a simple hotel. Has lots of parking space beside the building. Room has complimentary bunch of bananas, few pieces of sponge cakes, coffee and tea and 2 cans of Singha soda drinks. Has a clothes rack at the balcony. A recliner chair. Comfortable bed, quiet air con. Water pressure is good. Strong Wi-Fi. Nothing more to ask for. Everything we need is there. At night no reception, but the key card will let you open the lobby main door, another door that lead to the lift. So is double security system. About 1 km to Jeath Museum, 1km to JJ Night market, 650m to wash and go laundry shop. We love this small little hotel.
GGuest UserExcellent service, all front office staff are great, especially Chote who was kind enough to carry our luggage to the third floor. Very polite and respectful, location, cafe, aesthetics are all on point, quiet and beautiful, all rooms have a river view. Hotel is by the river.
HHippy travelerI’ve read many reviews on this hotel and think some are unfair, in general the hotel is a little tired but not to the point it would effect a holiday, and although very big complex, was very quite, pool was very clean, no pool bar but phone and menus were available and staff brought drinks food out, we stayed in the royal suite for three nights this suite was amazing so much space, two separate bedrooms both with dressing rooms and en suits, two lounges and dining areas one on each floor, along with small kitchen area, and 5 balconies, the apartment could be accessed on both floors leading to a covered walkway, the view of the river was lovely.
The hotel grounds are huge. There is a golf buggy that will take to you to entrance of grounds and it’s only 100mtr walk to bridge, there is a small market there and restaurants
GGuest UserI had booked for one night, intending to leave for Bangkok early the next morning. At checkin, when informed by reception that there was a bus going to Erawan National Park, I decided to stay one more night.
The reception staff came out several times to ensure i caught the bus which i waved down right in front of the hostel. Really appreciate the care given by this staff member.
The point i wish to bring across in this post is, you can encourage the free and easy travellers to stay a day or two longer if there are places of interest within eady reach.
I had a wonderful day at the park and a most restful night at thd hostel. Highly recommended!
JJay BrazThe place is gorgeous, I had a room very clean and tidy, and the services for housekeeping are great. The place is amazing also for couples , breakfast was good, they need to do something with the Flys 🪰, but not a big deal. I been by myself. It's about 14km to the Kwai Bridge (Center), from there you can take the train or have a tour from the resort. If you wanna to have a taxi from the resort to the center in the evening, it's a bit hard to take, I recomend to ask for a motorcycle.
DDonドニTraveling with friends but it's rainy so we stay longer and enjoy the facility. Amazed with the place, and love it. We play at the pools (yes, more than 1 pool) and continue taking pictures at the river. Well, everything was so good, but the fly at the resto during breakfast. Probably, because it is the rainy season, but I believe technology can answer.
Got lost at night on the way to the resort since Google Map sent us at the wrong track just next to the entrance. It was scary and dangerous. Hope it can be fixed?
杨杨逸麟Worth a visit and stay overnight here, the cat is cute, the view of the lake also is fantastic.
Also there are some tips that you'd better check in before the night time, otherwise the dog of the owner may scared you at night 🤣 But the owner will come out if the dog barking. And just like most of the other hotel, you need to bring your own toothbrush, shampoo and hairdryer.
In front of the guesthouse is a ww2 factory, they say will be a museum in the future, and some historical old wall hundred years ago which was used to agonist Mymmar invader
