"Hidden gem with old-school island charm
We absolutely loved our stay at The Kauai Inn! It has such a peaceful, laid-back atmosphere and feels way more authentic than the big resort hotels.
The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the whole property was lush and green — surrounded by mountains and palm trees. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed.
Location was perfect for exploring the island — close to Līhuʻe, but quiet and tucked away. We’d 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a more local, relaxed experience."
"Location is great and the property is extremely clean and quiet. Our room was very outdated ( early 80's for furniture, carpet, bathroom) but clean and everything worked. It was spacious but bare minimum in kitchen for supplies, the coffee pot is super tiny. My only complaint is you can't extend your stay for late check out or additional day, that really impacts people on hikes and etc. We had to pack our stuff out (530am) and couldn't do late check out to come back to pack and shower. The young desk clerks stated policy for late check out was call morning of after 9am. That's ridiculous because most tourist are traveling across island exploring early. We asked at 815pm night before and staff couldn't give us late check out for next day, that's a deal breaker for us coming back to this property and was absolutely not willing to check or call management, for this reason I would avoid property if you have early tours or adventures. No one wants to pack out 5am without opportunity for late check out."
"It's not what it seems. It is a hotel that has very good things and others not so much.
When we arrived we were given a room with a double bed and a sofa bed. We had booked a twin room and were told this was Trip's problem. That they only guarantee the views. All the furniture is wooden and very old. The old sofa, with a thin mattress and perforated sheets...
Finally the next day we were changed to a room with two beds (and sea view) which was much better. However, the furniture was also old.
It is advertised here that the cleaning of the room is daily but it is not true. They clean only one day for stays of at least 5 nights. If you are staying less than a few days and you want the room to be made for you, 50 USD. If you want clean towels, 10USD.
The hotel does not have elevators, so you have to carry your bags up the stairs to the room (on the floor you are on).
Just arriving they charge you 147.45USD in taxes (amenity fee, ta tax, ge tax, county ta tax...).
Good: Prime location, in front of (private) beach, with restaurants, supermarkets and shops next door. The main road is right there. Swimming pool with hammocks and a bar (opens at 3pm).
There is a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave in the room."

"This time that I stayed, there was not the best room. This is my fourth time staying there and the last trip I got to stay in the remodeled rooms which were great. This last trip. I stayed in the older one and the room was pretty stinky smelling like mildew, but it was just for one night "
"Let’s talk about the good things first: we booked a sea view room, we could see the sea, the hotel’s swimming pool was also good, there was a Hawaiian hula performance, the hotel’s restaurant was also good, and there were no such negative reviews from other guests. However, there were 2 serious problems: one was that there were ants in the room and I was bitten while wearing slippers. Later I found that there were ants on the bed as well. The second one was even more serious. A machine started up every few minutes in the middle of the night and made a very loud sound. It continued for a few minutes and then stopped. It kept doing this over and over again. It was so noisy that I couldn't sleep."
"Next to the beach, there is a breakwater for playing in the sea. The location is very convenient. There is a hot spring pool in the swimming pool, which can be used as a hot spring by the elderly. There is also a free laundry room. However, the hotel facilities are a bit old, the windows cannot be opened, and the fresh air blower and air conditioner are very loud. They must be turned off at night, otherwise it feels like sleeping on an airplane."
"The view of the hotel facing the sea is very beautiful, and the view of the Makai golf venue next door is also beautiful. The hotel windowsill can look at the sea, and many people surf every morning and evening. Valet parking and resort fees need to be paid to the hotel separately, but are good value for money. The device is indeed out of date, it is still the charger for iphone4, but you can go to the supermarket in Princeville Center to rent a DVD. Soak in the hotel and don't want to go anywhere."

Great
Mmae-xuVery nice hotel, sitting on the balcony to watch the scenery, swimming pool downstairs, snorkeling by the sea, especially there is a big supermarket within 7-8 minutes walk, the hotel breakfast is very rich, and the food in the restaurant is also delicious, it is worth experiencing again.
GGuest UserA very nice place to stay once you swallow the price. The resort was very clean. People friendly and they are very flexible. Check out was at 10am but they accommodate holding luggage and provide a hospitality room for 30 minutes to clean up after that. They allowed us to use the resort facilities all day after check out. That was very special.

AANTHONYOne of the best resort hotels on Kauai, go out is the sea, go into the sea, colorful tropical fish swim with you, the hotel has nine suites that are not on the website, you can upgrade when you go, these nine suites are each set There are three huge floor-to-ceiling windows, facing the sea, which is beautiful
Moreover, the service staff of the hotel are very professional. Before we went, they called and arranged all the items we wanted to play. Many items on the island could not be booked when we arrived. If we had to go in advance, there was a limit.
ZZacharyThe location was my only complaint, it was a 10 minute walk to anything else. Other than that the hotel has a great restaurant and bar, the pool was always heated and the room was really clean.
The hotel itself was up to date also and well kept. Before coming we stayed at a 5 star hotel on Maui and were a little disappointed by the state of the hotel. When we came to the Sheraton it was a great surprise to see in how great of a shape the hotel was.
ZZHONGFANGIn addition, services, cleaning and other miscellaneous charges of $70 are charged, which I think should not be charged. The noise of the window air conditioner in the room was too loud and there was almost no way to sleep soundly.
IIRClean and very easy to spend. Free amenities and shampoo and body lotion are also available.
No toothbrush is attached, so you need to bring it with you. Please rent a hair dryer at the front desk. The front desk is until 9pm, so you need to take a shower early.
The location is great and adult bicycle rental is also free.
There is also a pound cake at the front desk and it is very delicious.
The staff at the front desk are very friendly and gentle.
The breakfast shop below is definitely better to go. It's delicious.
MMinThe hotel started 1916. Location near to Lihue airport is a plus. Condition is run down in the exterior but makes up for it with newly fixed up rooms. Clean.
