"Do note that it is outskirts of hiji, driving at night is quite quiet. The hotel doesn’t have private bath in the room so do take note as showering will be shared under traditional public bath house. Family bath house is available for booking only, which the staff let us use it during the two nights there. Thank you for the great service!"

"The room was very small, the bathroom steps were too high, the breakfast was simple but it felt very delicate. The breakfast time ended too early and the Japanese time ended at 9 o'clock. One day, the lady didn't wake up. I asked the front desk if I could bring two small breads. I was rejected... I couldn't accept it! ! ! This service is worse than hotels in the mainland. Hotel Trip.com is 2 stars, very accurate, rural express hotel. There is a 24-hour big M around, there is a supermarket opposite the big M, remember! You can cash, you can't swipe your card and IC card. Living here is mainly because it is very convenient to take the baby to Sanliou Harmony Paradise. Finally, the bus here must inform the driver where you want to get off, or he keeps, it is easy to cross the station without looking at the map. This is my experience from Oita Airport by airport bus. Remember!"

"I booked this place very last minute and it only cost me 10,000yen. Only 10 minute walk to Oita Airport and has a 7/11 convinience store right infront. You have to check in through phone which might be hard for non-native speakers but luckily another guest helped me out. The check-in desk can also speak a bit of english and was very kind. Overall, for the price and time, the place was very much worth it! Clean and good ammenities. Would recommend."

"The closest hotel to Harmonyland which allows you to take taxi to and from the theme park at a reasonable price. The hotel basically provides everything from snacks, drinks and meals all day including dinner and breakfast, everything was excellent. I was aware that Mercure is an international hotel chain thus the vibes of the hotel itself can’t truly be entirely Japanese. However, I was still very satisfied with my stay overall. I was so lucky to see some cherry blossom trees still in their peak at the hotel parking lot while the peak of most other trees in different areas had already passed. The hotel also offers free shuttle from and to Beppu Station which we found to be very helpful."

"Excellent!  A very big thumb up! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Awesome onsen, grand lobby, incredible seaview, unlimited drinks, excellent staff and clean facilities and places. Those are my descriptions to this hotel. I have a very pleasant stay with parents (aged 80+) and highly recommend! Surprising me is the front desk, can speak fluent English, Korean, etc. Special thanks to Harada san 👍🏻, she did a great job and arrange a shuttle to drive us to the airport bus stop.  Drivers are very kind as well! Breakfast is good, value for money, lots of choices, Japanese style( like sashimi rice, mackerel, salmon for grilled) and Western(toast, salad) are very fresh. Highly recommended! For dinner, this is 90 mins semi buffet style…. Nice to try, due to the “semi” set does not offer choices, and we don’t eat beef, Huy (restaurant staff) nicely offer to change to pork (takes 10 minutes to prepare) and take another 5-6 min to cook.  To me, a bit rush to get other food to finish, especially you are accompanied with disabled parents! Anyway, thanks to him, we got special menu - seafood, for my second night dinner. Honestly, the price is expensive, not worth for people don’t drink alcohol. But if you are an alcoholic, there is wide range of choices. cocktail, chardonnay, etc are soso! One “cons” is the location is a bit off from Beppu JR, if u drive, highly recommended, my case is the car break down (Toyota shop really disappointing) especially u carry aged 80+ disabled parents."
