Hotel Alexander

Krakow|0.17km from Bagatela Theatre
The location was perfect. So close to the Square. The hotel was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The staff were very helpful and packed us up a breakfast for our day trip. Our only concern was the noise. We travelled as two couples. One room was right by the lifts and was very noisy throughout the night. It was also on ground level right next to the gravel driveway. Fortunately, ear plugs were packed. The second room was on the 4th floor and was an apparent Upgrade room. The first night we were woken by the noise next door. It was 3.30am and it lasted until just after 5am. The noise consisted of people talking and laughing. The walls were so thin you could here every sound. We phoned down to reception and the lady said she would call them. You could literally hear their phone ringing. The occupants of the next room checked out the next day.....fortunately!!! This was our second day of our visit and after a walk around the city we came back to our room and I was talking on the phone to my son back in the UK around 3pm. I came off the phone and could hear voices next door. The new occupants had complained about the noise we were making as I could hear the receptionist speaking to them saying that she would keep 'an eye on us' and that hopefully 'we would be quiet throughout the night'. I was only talking on the phone. I went down to the receptionist and she said she could hear me talking on the phone and that the new occupants wanted a room change due to the noise. The receptionist said that she has never had a complaint about noise before....yet she could hear was me talking!! She said that she could hear my every word. So very strange. If you choose this hotel, please be aware that the rooms on the 4th floor that are upgraded have very thin walls. We are just so fortunate that they moved the people next door and we did sleep very well for the last 2 nights. At the end of the day, neither of us were doing anything loud or unreasonable. It was just talking. The walls are paper thin!! Such a shame as there are so many positives about this hotel.

Liebeskind Boutique Hotel

This hotel is located in a quiet area about a 10 min walk of the main square. The rooms are a fair size with a hairdryer, tea, coffee facilities, large shower etc. It was snowing and very cold on our visit but the hotel was warm. I had a room at the top of the hotel and there were no windows, just 2 skylights which as it was snowing the whole time we were there made the room very dark. However as I wasn’t in it much this was no big deal. It’s a small hotel, with no lounge or bar. Breakfast is served in the basement and is ok but nothing to write home about. It all feels rather cramped. Staff were pleasant enough. If you are looking for a budget hotel and intend to be out most of the time this is fine. There is a really nice cafe linked to another hotel on the corner that does a good looking hot breakfast as an alternative to the hotel breakfast .

We had a great weekend in Krakow. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and it was a good size, clean and had everything we needed. Be aware - there is no doors to the bedrooms. There is a minibar that can be used as a fridge, the bathroom has nice Rituals products. There is a Starbucks and another small cafe right outside where you can have breakfast and also 2 small minimarkets. 5 minutes walk to the marketplace and about 15 minutes to the Wavel Castle. The staff in the reception is nice and helpful and will keep your luggage if you arrive early or leave late.

Good place to stop the family. The mattresses are soft. But to settle you need to call the resepshen to give the password from the code lock with the key. The room is clean. The only hotel does not provide shampoo, you have to take your own. Recommend
