This is the ideal hotel for Alishan hikers! The staff is incredibly helpful and provided us with a complete itinerary for the area. We were particularly impressed when they called every room to announce the updated schedule for the first Alishan railway run to catch the sunrise. While the room is small, this is understandable given the National Park setting.

Alishan Hotel Dafeng Resort is about 75 kilometers east of Chiayi City, east of Yushan Mountain Range and adjacent to Yushan National Park. It is located in Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, about 2,200 meters above sea level, right behind the Tourist Service Center, close to shopping streets, restaurants, train stations, bus stations and tourist service centers, and transportation is very convenient., and can book sunrise tours to Yushan National Park. The hotel uses electric blankets all year round, and heating equipment is provided in winter (computer-controlled below 7 degrees C).
Looks newly renovated, the whole environment looks fresh and clean. Toilet was nice too, all my families member like it a lot. They can also help book some of the tour or ride, just need to check with the receptionist. The hotel also include breakfast but it is not near to hotel, its partnering with the restaurant on the other side near train station.

Simple hotel inside the national park, overall good enough for the overnight stay in the park. The facilities are a bit outdated, but the room and the hotel service are satisfactory. A bit expensive for the quality, but it's already among the cheapest in Alishan. They provide a voucher for breakfast that can be used in a nearby restaurant.

Rooms are very clean and well kept, you can expect breathtaking views if you have a room with a balcony on the top floor, lower floors will have little or no view into the mountains. The area around the property is mainly tea plantations and farms, good for a short afternoon’s exploration before dinner.

The tea garden has beautiful scenery and clean rooms, but the lobby and lounge are messy, which is a pity.

EEmma LeeSGIt is a beautiful stay. Aside from the wrong choice of transport, all are great. From comfort of accomodation, hospitality of the owner and workers to the delicious food and drinks. Advice: take a car to and from the accom or be like us, we took bus and pushed our luggages up the very steep slope on a high altitude, almost killing ourselves! Haa.

GGuest UserWe had a mixed but memorable stay here. The vibes and decor are lovely, and the restaurant view is truly breathtaking—it’s easily the highlight of the property. Having breakfast and dinner overlooking the mountains was a beautiful experience.
However, there are a few things to keep in mind:
• The Room: Our room was very small and the layout had some design choices that felt like a falling hazard (tripping risks).
• Location: The property is very remote. For foreign tourists, it is quite inconvenient to navigate because the hotel does not offer any shuttle or tour services to help guests explore the area.
• Duration: The food is decent, but because of the size of the rooms and the remote nature, we felt one night was more than enough to enjoy the view and moving on.

MMichppFor almost HKD 1000, the hotel room was quite underwhelming. The facilities felt very basic, akin to a Holiday Inn or Travelodge. They didn't even provide bottled water; I had to go to the corridor to get it myself. The worst part was the incredibly dirty kettle – there was a flour-like substance stuck to the bottom that wouldn't wash off. Luckily, I noticed floating bits in the cup when I poured the water, so I didn't drink it.

GGuest UserThe B&B is located on the way up Alishan Highway. The owner was very helpful, providing detailed instructions on how to get to the B&B and Alishan by bus. The place smells wonderfully of tea, and the room was simple and clean. Following the owner's advice, I walked 5 minutes to a small tea plantation on a hillside near the B&B. It fulfilled my wish to stargaze at night and watch the sunrise in the morning. The tea plantation scenery was beautiful, and I even got a discount when buying some tea leaves. However, it might be flower season, so be aware that the uphill buses might be full!

DDominiqueNThis was really the best home stay experience we ever had! The owners are super kind. Upon arrival, they warmly welcomed us in and gave us delicious tea, apple, snacks, and their good company. The room itself had amazing views over the mountains, tea plants, and sakura. The room was really big, equipped with a good shower and comfortable beds. We even got a free room upgrade and tasty breakfast with fresh fruits. Next morning we were taken on a tour over the Tea Plantation and the owner told us not only about the process but could give us information on all the other plants like coffee plants, flowers, etc. We really hope we can stay here in the future again.

GGuest UserIt’s a 10 mins walk to the nearest convenience store and eateries near to Xiding bus stop. The path gets quite dim and quiet at night. What’s nearby is mainly the “Tea and Mist Trail” - entrance to the trail is 2 mins walk from Dafang. The nearest bus stop to Dafang is Lincuo (3-5 mins walk away), which is not a major stop i.e. you can get off the tourist shuttle bus but you can’t board at Lincuo bus stop. The nearest stop to board the bus is Xiding.
The room was fairly comfortable, but we were far from impressed with the aesthetics. Functional wise, It would have been useful to have a clothing rack in the room. While the room is spacious, the bathroom is rather cramped.
Breakfast was simple and individually served, at the rooftop lounge which offers a great view of the mountain range.

GGuest UserGreat stay here! Good value for Alishan. Location was fine, relatively close to Shizhuo and Fenqiqhu by car and close to a 7/11. It’s tricky to reach by public transport, you’ll most likely need a car. Advice would be to go to Hotel Indigo and drive up from there, it’s narrow but fine. The double room was lovely, really relaxed and cute. Staff are direct but helpful, not much English but very helpful with any questions. Ask her for the location to go to for sunset, it was AMAZING, about 10 mins drive from the b&b. We missed sunrise due to clouds but the sunset made up for it. The breakfast was good with good variety for Alishan, coffee excellent. It’s a chill “cabin in the woods” vibe

GGuest UserI chose this place because of its location right in Fenqihu Old Street, making shopping and exploring easy. It's also super convenient for hitting the nearby walking trails. There's no dedicated parking, but on weekdays, it was a breeze to snag a free roadside spot nearby. Weekends would be a different story though; if you don't arrive before 9 AM, you're out of luck even if you're willing to pay.
The room facilities are a bit dated, and there's no air conditioning, just an external exhaust fan for ventilation. I imagine it would be quite uncomfortable in the summer, but thankfully, the April nights were still very pleasant. My baby absolutely loved the tatami room, with all that open space to crawl around freely and happily.

But little thi ga like bins not emptied and having to request clean cups is something I do t want to have to do. Sshuyi huangThe location is good. The hotel staff are very helpful and will inform you of all the information. The welcome afternoon tea is great. One drink per person and a large portion of small cakes. It is really excellent. Highly recommend.... The room is large and clean. The sauna equipment is old, the pool is a little dirty, the spa is broken, and the oven and steam room are not open. It would be better if it could be tidied up a little! The swimming pool is large and small, and the spa water is not deep. The spa is great for adults and children to play in, and the scenery is beautiful. Although the breakfast is not very rich, it has everything you need. It even provides beef soup, which is a plus because it is not available during renovations. Concert, looking forward to staying again after renovations to experience a different holiday atmosphere
