Amazing
GGuest UserThe hotel is very clean, and the bed is a rare large size for this area. The facilities are well-equipped, and the bedding is clean. It's located right across from the station square, next to Takamatsu Castle. The unbeatable sea view is especially amazing! Highly recommended!
XXingcanpeiganThe hotel is about a 20-minute walk from Takamatsu, through the shopping street. There's a bus stop nearby, and the hotel has a cozy decor. The self-service breakfast is a great way to save some money.
__WeChat50062****I booked an accessible room, and it was genuinely spacious. It's really comfortable to stay in a 35 sqm room in Japan. There was a slight odor when I first entered the room, but it cleared up after I turned on the air purifier.
Downside: The soundproofing isn't great.
Upside: Everything else is a plus. The location is excellent. There's an airport shuttle right downstairs, which costs 1000 yen and goes directly to the airport. There are frequent services, almost hourly.
Location: Whether you're going to the airport, Takamatsu Port for island hopping, or the JR station, everything is within walking distance. It's a 12-minute walk to Takamatsu Port, which was perfect for our island-hopping itinerary. Mitsukoshi department store is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, and it has an LV store with plenty of stock. There are also many choices for drugstores, restaurants, and cafes.
The room was cleaned daily. One time, I forgot to hang the 'please clean' sign and thought it wouldn't be done, but when I returned to the room, it felt completely refreshed, which was a lovely surprise. I forgot to take photos of the room, so I've included a picture of the beautiful blue sea and sky instead.
JjbbfbbThe experience was good enough the hotel and the food wasn’t too bad. The hot spring on the top floor is an absolute delight and we didn’t stay in the room much we were almost out, so it was just a place for us to rest our feet and get a good night sleep and that just did the trick. Everything was fine hotel staff were good. Everything was great.
GGuest UserHotel location is very convenient and close to the centre of the City Centre. We found everything is so nearby with food and wine downstairs. The hotel room size is perfect well kept with clean and tidy care taking. One incident I need to pinpointed out because of the language barrier I went down to front desk asking restaurant reservation assistance from the reception desk, there I met SEO-san who is very rude and impolite (I have to say this is my first time to experience this when I travelled around Japan). This SEO-san who was impatient saying in front of me ”this is the last time I can help you to call the restaurant for dining reservation”. If I know how to speak Japanese I would have done the dining reservation myself, it is very common most of the restaurant would not understand English for table booking. It was my ONLY bad experience ever happened in Japan. Most of the reception desk at hotels would extend this kind of help for foreign hotel guests without any confrontation. Luckily there were some other staff, Ms Yamada and Kozono-san who had given help instead. Therefore, I think SEO is his character problem it is not commonly found in this Japanese hotel industry.
GGuest UserThe room is quite compact, with a 1.4-meter double bed, leaving very limited space to move around.
The hot springs on the hotel's top floor are a definite bonus! They offer complimentary ice cream (3:00 PM - 12:00 AM) and Yakult (5:00 AM - 10:00 AM). After 9:30 PM, you can also enjoy hot spring ramen.
For breakfast, they serve udon with tempura, which is very authentic and delicious.
As for transportation, take the bus from Takamatsu Airport to Chuo Koen-mae (Central Park). After getting off, walk back a bit, and you'll see the Dormy Inn next to a gas station.
From the hotel, if you turn right, you can walk to the Michelin-starred Ritsurin Garden. Turning left will take you to Takamatsu Port, where you can catch various island-hopping ferries. There are also many great restaurants directly across from the hotel.
Overall, aside from the room being too small, everything else was fine.
DDaily happyDuring my recent trip to Japan, I had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that also serves as a wedding venue — and from the moment I arrived, the level of service was simply impeccable. The staff were not only gracious and professional, but also went out of their way to assist me at every turn, despite my lack of Japanese language skills. Their warm hospitality left a lasting impression and made me feel truly welcomed and cared for.
Though the room was compact, it was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully arranged. As a solo traveler, I found the space more than sufficient — cozy, comfortable, and a fantastic value for the price. It truly struck the perfect balance between affordability and quality.
A special mention goes to the amenities: the hotel provides a well-stocked amenity station at the reception, where guests can freely pick up whatever they need — a detail that reflects the hotel’s attention to guest convenience.
While the location is a little removed from the city center, this wasn’t an issue at all for me, as I had a rental car. The added bonus? Free parking on-site, which made my stay even more convenient and budget-friendly.
Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in so many ways. With its blend of elegant ambiance, exceptional service, and thoughtful touches, it became a peaceful and comfortable base for my journey — one I would gladly return to and wholeheartedly recommend to fellow travelers.
GGuest UserThe hotel is only a few mins away on foot from JR Takamatsu station. The room (a double-bed room for a single traveler) is small and dated but in terms of cleanness and comfort, it still is quite alright. The hotel offers free drink in the lobby in the evening, which seems to be a common practice nowadays in Japan's business hotels. There are a number of restaurants nearby and the main pedestrian shopping street is also just less than 10 mins away. To sum up, if you need to be near the JR Takamatsu station or Takamastu port for a short stay, this is a very affordable choice. Reminder: if you need to catch airport bus to Takamatsu Airport in the morning, go to the starting stop which is located at the main road outside of the ferry terminals. The bus, in my experience, was fairly empty when I boarded at the starting stop, but quickly filled up after the 3rd stop and you might need to wait for the next one.
WWeidaHotel staff at reception desk is super helpful and very patient to assist customer.
Room is super clean and breakfast is nice.
We stayed this hotel for 4 nights for a golf trip. During our stay, there were a couple issues we have with car rental companies. Staff was very kind to help in local languange conversation with call center and local police individuals to effectively get thing done. I cannot image how long it will take for us to communicate with non-Japanese lauguage... Good job Route Inn hotel.
AAnonymous UserIt is at a very convenient location near Takamatsu Port, JR station and Kotoden station, so it is a good starting point for attractions around Kagawa prefecture.
There are restaurants nearby but supermarkets are somehow a bit far away.
Independent socket, lighting and curtains are available to provide privacy for dorm bed users.
Temperature in the dorm room was ok but the toilet was a bit cold in early morning.
