Hotels near Municipal Amphitheater in Larnaca

I booked a cheap hotel as I only needed it to sleep and shower in as I was out everyday. You pay for what you get. However the amount of stress caused on check in I was not prepared for. I understand reservations may not appear for many different reasons so I have more patience and understanding than most, however to be told on check in there’s a piece of scrap paper saying I’ve been moved to another hotel 40mins drive away, when I was told their was rooms available, with no proper documentation and I have to pay for the taxi and somehow claim it back from some person tomorrow, then met with a shoulder shrug when I said no just isn’t ok. I spent all evening trying to sort out the check in. Communication failed terribly in this occasion. I was left to sit and basically deal with my reservation myself for 4 1/2 hours talking to the company I booked with, not knowing If I was getting a room here or not and looking for other places to stay. To find out there was a problem with the payment, which if I was told from the beginning it could have been dealt with a lot quicker and reduced the stress of trying to be sent to another hotel, not knowing if they actually had my booking. A lot of reassurance points were missed. Which wasn’t a great start to my holiday. However on another note, This hotel has huge potential and I don’t think the owners realise. It just needs some some TLC, with its location being 5mins from the airport, the beach out side, ***** of restaurants 30 seconds away, volley ball, water sports on the beach out front and 2mins walk from the bus stop to larnaka centre (or 30/40min walk) and only a 5min walk to the salt lake. The actual hotel needs some love and work to it. With the partnership it has with last minute.com and potentially others, it could do really well and stand a very good chance in the market. Just some advice , Get the pool and upstairs bar fixed so it’s suitable for leisure guests when they come next summer. As it stands you wouldn’t be able to relax in the hotel during the day. The lobby area is lovely and spacious, the decorations and branding is simplistic which is nice. The outside of the hotel looks lovely with the huge flamingo. Do up the bedrooms, get the showers fixed, re paint, fix the door handles , make it look fresh like the photos advertised. When you get more guests coming , then focus on re designing the breakfast buffet, so there’s more of a selection. Then focus on customer service and making it feel warm. Let people aware you have made changes and ask the guests to leave reviews, better your chances of new business and more money. As people read reviews before staying. Look at the surrounding market and competition, what are your USP’s ?, where do you stand out?. It’s such a shame to see a hotel with potential go to waste. I hope the owners see this and start to put some love into the hotel.

I was very pleased with staying there. I can't say one bad word about about the hotel. Very nice staff, nice place, beautiful swimming pool, good prices at the bar for refreshment, cozy outside area for eating. If somebody like me, likes cats, that would be perfect hotel for them as there are locally cared street cats close by in a green area, which keeps rats and bugs away.

We were absolutely delighted with this hotel. We booked a senior suite and it was stunning with a sitting area as well as a bedroom with a very comfortable bed. The large bathroom has a large powerful shower and a jacuzzi bath. The decor throughout was lovely and the graffiti outstanding. Although on a busy road road soundproofing in the rooms worked perfectly. Breakfast had plenty of choice and we had a drink in the bar one evening and it was comfortable, the service was good and prices reasonable. If there is a slight snag it is car parking as the car park is tiny. Having said that we were able to park there and although we got blocked in the staff were very helpful and made sure the car was moved. Staff were all very good and helpful and although the hotel is not right by the sea it is a short walk even for someone with a bad knee(which I have at the moment). In short I can not recommend this hotel highly enough and we will certainly be back.

Since I am already an Accor member, I booked the Mercure Larnaca Beach Resort. My expectations were far exceeded. The hotel was recently opened and everything is completely new and clean! The staff is very attentive, friendly and competent. Definitely worth mentioning is Denis at the reception, super friendly and professional. Valentina is a dream in the kitchen! I would also like to mention the waiter with the longer dark hair - friendly, always open to a conversation. Overall the staff is great! The location of the hotel is about 20 minutes from Larnaca Airport. It's right on the beach with a nice pool area. We had room 404, very modernly furnished and the size of a normal standard room. We had dinner at the hotel 3 times - it was excellent and very delicious. There are a few restaurants and coffee shops around the hotel. A supermarket is 2 minutes away from the hotel. I can recommend the hotel and I will definitely come again in the summer. 10 out of 10 points - this is how vacation is fun.

Very nice and clean rooms. Good food, great service and a magical view from the pool. A nice hotel for people that travel alone, couples and with/without children, as I have tried it all. Julie, Norway

The perfect hotel for the religious Jew. The amenities were basic, but the service was very good and the location is right next to the chabad and they have minyans every day. Also there is a very helpful tour office down the block where you can rent bikes and also get guided tours. All in all, I had a very good experience at this hotel.

Great budget apartments with amazing views, fantastic and helpful staff, friendly atmosphere. Everything is in walking distance from shops to restaurants to pharmacy and the beach is opposite the apartments. The apartment has spacious rooms and was cleaned everyday we were there for 7 nights by very friendly lovely cleaning ladies. Toiletries were provided in advance and was enough for our stay, air-con worked like magic and the balcony view made everything worth it

I stayed a couple of nights at this hotel during a recent trip to Cyprus. Not only was it reasonably priced for the location (right across the road from Finikoudes Beach), but it also included a lavish free breakfast. My room was very comfortable and had a balcony with a gorgeous view of the beach. The hotel manager was very helpful in arranging transport to and from the airport, and in finding me a taxi to Paphos at a decent rate. I also liked that there were numerous restaurants within walking distance, which offered all kinds of dining choices.

ROOM: We stayed in Room 504, so this review is based on that; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; VIEW: Sweet view of the cityscape from the nice balcony attached to the room; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting us to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Good Spa quality Toiletries FACILITIES: Compact Gym with a basic range of weights and Cardio machines good enough for a decent workout. They also have a rooftop swimming pool SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel at home, and well taken care of. Confirmation with Best Western plus Larco, Pontou Street was made months before my arrival requested to put me in room opposite my friend's apartment. When I arrived the receptionist literally told me they are over booked i must go stay in a hotel 5min away for one night and I they will offer me lunch or dinner, like half board. I wanted to experience Larnaca eat in different restaurants everday Luckily I was with a friend who is a local, she immediately said No because the hotel for transfer was terrible, tried another and she said No terrible as well. Eventually I was booked in another hotel for one night called Leonardo Boutique Hotel, George checked me in, he was fantastic. I will stay here next time because location is great and hotel is very clean. My evening with friends was ruined, even the person driving to the new hotel wasn't happy. What upset me the most about Best Western plus Larco was being ordered to go stay in a different hotel without apology. The first thing to say is to apologies and explain the situation. Even the next day when I came back to check in, the lady at reception was so defensive agressive speach, she just said they are just receptionist they don't make decisions then I told her she never apologised and then she replied oh im sorry. That already spoilt my stay. I thought your employer gave you the job and you must take responsibility, sometimes by just apologising, you are the first point of contact and depending on how you speak can make a difference to someone's stay. It was my first time to stay with Best Western and I dont wish to stay with them again.
