Luxury Hotels in Lhasa

"The service is the worst of all hotels where we have stayed worldwide. It is worse than even any 1-star rated hotel in China. Right from the entry, the check in is chaotic. No one attends to luggage. It takes 2 hours to do formalities and return passports. In Room dining, the order is a huge challenge. They take 2 hours to take order and deliver the food after 1 hour, when they serve only the food in a plate. No seperate dishes or any cutliaries (spoon or fork or chopsticks ... nothing provided). When you point these out, they say sorry and take another 1 hour to bring plates, chop sticks etc. BY now 5 hours passed and food is so cold and not eatable. This is a regular scenario ... repeated 3 times, I.e. everything we placed an order. It's a huge challenge. On amenities, the beds are extremely uncomfortable. If you just take a turn while sleeping, the other person is sure to wake up. They call king size bed .. it's two seperate beds kept side by side with cheap quality spring mattress. On breakfast, it's very limited and every day same menu. No varieties, the food taste is horrible as well. Extremely bad experience.for the price that is paid. The feeling has been a complete waste of money, sleepless nights, staying hugry and waiting for food post order for 5.hours every time we ordered room dining. The same situation in restaurent as well."

"We stayed at the Shangri-la after a week of being in Tibet. It was a nice change from the more Chinese style hotels we had stayed in and was ideal for the night before our flight out. The rooms are great and we booked one with a bath. The shower was very powerful and hot. The breakfast buffet was, by Chinese standards, decent for western options and the evening buffer was good for approx 200rmb/person if you're in need of more western options. The big plus for me was the gym. Decent by most hotel standards and had a good mix of resistance machines, cardio and free weights (mainly dumbbells of up to 20kg plus a pair of 27.5kg). The only thing missing from the gym really is a squat rack but otherwise very good. Would stay again."

"There are many places to take photos in the hotel. The lobby is completely in local ******* style. The lobby is a bit like the style of the Potala Palace, which feels very shocking. I received a greeting from the housekeeper Deji Nancy less than 5 minutes after I checked in. It was very considerate. I had some altitude sickness. My housekeeper Deji Nancy gave us too many suggestions and reminders. I felt very warm and touched. She arranged everything for me in advance and turned on the humidifier and oxygen supply equipment in advance. She really welcomed guests warmly. I have stayed in many star hotels and even 6-star hotels. I have never met such a warm and professional service as Nancy. I took the initiative to contact and ask about the check-in experience within 5 minutes of arriving at the hotel. I always care about the physical condition of the elderly. I like her. The hardware facilities of the hotel are really first-class. I really feel like home and family. The only hotel that has not disappointed me is the InterContinental Lhasa Hotel. From her professional and enthusiastic service, I can feel that she provides customers with her most professional service from the bottom of her heart. It is worth recommending that everyone must try to stay at the InterContinental Lhasa Holy Land Paradise Hotel."

"The hotel was new and the room was decent. The only problem is that it doesn’t have a humidifier for the dry weather in Lhasa. It’s 5 min walk from the airport. It’s a good choice if you have an early flight next day."

"The room is very clean and hygienic. The breakfast is good, with rich variety and spacious environment. The bedding is very comfortable, clean and has no smell of smoke. Oxygen is available 24 hours in the lobby, and hot drinks are welcome - Rhodiola in the lobby: I have not experienced these two. Coke and Wanglaoji are free in the room. It is worth noting that not all rooms have oxygen, and you need to book a ”room supply” room. The hotel restaurant is also OK. The portion is large and the taste is good, suitable for those who don't want to walk out."

The hotel staff not only helped me check in early, but also helped me with my luggage as soon as I got off the taxi and asked me if I was hungry. Every staff member had a smile on their face and was very attentive. Secondly, the hotel rooms are very clean, and the shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrush used are all good brands.  When I passed the reception when I was leaving, the staff immediately handed me a bottle of water and told me to drink more water when I went out. It was very thoughtful. I had dinner and lunch at the hotel, both were very good and the portions were sufficient. I also went to the hotel bar in the evening. The bartender was very professional and the drinks were delicious. Highly recommended, if you go to Lhasa, you must stay in this hotel!"

"The room was spotless, and the view of the Potala Palace from here was absolutely breathtaking. The hotel is perfectly situated right behind and to the right of the Potala Palace, making my windowsill my 'personal viewing platform': At midday, wisps of clouds drifted across its white walls and golden roofs, as if a breathing quilt was draped over the ancient palace; In the evening, the setting sun painted the Red Palace a honeyed hue, and as prayer flags fluttered in the wind, they seemed like countless hands applauding it; The moment the night lights came on, the entire palace suddenly 'came alive' – like an ancient ship moored in the darkness, carrying the stories of the Tubo Dynasty, slowly sailing towards the myriad lights of modern Lhasa. The complimentary biscuits were delicious, and the other snacks were great too! The butler and front desk service were warm and attentive. I arrived close to 2 PM, having not yet eaten, and the small eatery they recommended – the third shop after turning right from the hotel – was absolutely delightful."

Lhasa in winter is more prone to altitude sickness than in summer. The housekeeper first took us to rest in the hotel lobby and tasted the special highland barley milk cakes and sweet tea, which was as warm as welcoming his friends to visit his home. The battery car arrived directly at the guest room, and the door was opened with an ancient key. The ******* fragrance came out. The ******* decoration style is unique and elegant. The sunlight filled the living room through the ******* window. Language cannot describe this warm feeling. Every Songzan person I met in the hotel is sincere and lovely. They really treat us as guests from afar, allowing us to have a more comfortable stay. Breakfast is on the second floor, and you can overlook the Potala Palace. It's a pity that the Western restaurant on the third floor is closed recently. For dinner, I chose the ******* restaurant on the second floor. The dishes are very good. The restaurants are very quiet and the atmosphere is very good. There is also a boutique next to the hotel lobby. The scarves from Nole and the carpets from Kavajian are worth buying. I really don't want to leave. I will bring my family here again if I have the chance."

"The hardware environment and decoration are really good, and the breakfast is also decent. It is worthy of an old five-star hotel. The front desk took the initiative to upgrade the room type, and the accommodation experience was okay. Although the location is far away from the Potala Palace, it is still very convenient to take a taxi. It is close to large supermarkets, hotels, nightlife areas and hospitals, and the surrounding citywalk is quite comfortable."
