The solid wood furniture and exquisite ******* decorations complement each other perfectly, showing meticulous attention to detail in every corner. The hotel is incredibly well-prepared for the plateau climate; not only do the rooms have 18-hour diffused oxygen, but also humidifiers and constant temperature underfloor heating. I didn't have to worry about altitude sickness or dryness at all, and I slept soundly every night in Lhasa. The service was simply impeccable. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, offering thoughtful advice on high-altitude travel during check-in and serving warm Rhodiola tea. The hotel also provides a complimentary ******* clothing experience and professional photography service. In the charming Tibetan-style courtyard, every photo turns out like a masterpiece. On Tuesday afternoons, you can even join 'A-Jia' (******* elder sister) to experience making 'tsampa' (a ******* staple food), which is a truly memorable activity.

Buy an oxygen tube for RMB 10/piece, and you can arrange an oxygen machine at the lobby bar to provide free oxygen. There were sanitary defects, cigarette butts were found, we don't smoke as a family, but it was acceptable, the sprinkler pipe leaked, and the water pressure increased after cleaning. Everything was cured by the warm customer service.

The location is also super convenient, right inside Barkhor Street, just a 3-minute walk to Jokhang Temple!! The hotel also has a museum and a coffee shop!!! Every morning I woke up to a delicious and varied breakfast with fresh fruit provided by the hotel!! And free ******* clothing rentals and photography!! What's more, it's the 400-year-old former Nepalese Consulate, so it's incredibly rich in history!!! It's convenient for getting everywhere, I honestly can't find a single fault with it…

The airport pickup service was punctual and attentive. The driver was calm and professional, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey. Throughout our trip, the hotel arranged a dedicated driver to take us to Jokhang Temple and Potala Palace. The routes were well-planned, the driving was steady, and he waited patiently, allowing us to easily visit these sacred sites without any worries. I must give special praise to our butler, Zhixi. His service was incredibly meticulous and he anticipated our every need. From guiding us during check-in and offering itinerary suggestions to providing tips for high altitude, he followed up attentively throughout, always responsive to our requests. He handled every small detail with such care and thoughtfulness, making us feel completely at ease. The dining experience at the restaurant was excellent. The dishes were varied, delicious, and of high quality. A special thanks to Dekyi Wangmo for her exceptional care. Her service was warm and attentive; she proactively anticipated our needs, from taking orders to refilling tea and providing thoughtful details. The dining atmosphere was cozy and pleasant, and we enjoyed every meal thoroughly. This was especially helpful for us who experienced some altitude sickness. Standard hotel services were also top-notch. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were humble, courteous, and responded quickly. Whether it was helping with facilities, addressing requests, or providing temporary assistance, they were efficient and warm, truly making us feel at home. LLvlingfan007The room was spotless, and the view of the Potala Palace from here was absolutely breathtaking. The hotel is perfectly situated right behind and to the right of the Potala Palace, making my windowsill my 'personal viewing platform': At midday, wisps of clouds drifted across its white walls and golden roofs, as if a breathing quilt was draped over the ancient palace; In the evening, the setting sun painted the Red Palace a honeyed hue, and as prayer flags fluttered in the wind, they seemed like countless hands applauding it; The moment the night lights came on, the entire palace suddenly 'came alive' – like an ancient ship moored in the darkness, carrying the stories of the Tubo Dynasty, slowly sailing towards the myriad lights of modern Lhasa. The complimentary biscuits were delicious, and the other snacks were great too! The butler and front desk service were warm and attentive. I arrived close to 2 PM, having not yet eaten, and the small eatery they recommended – the third shop after turning right from the hotel – was absolutely delightful.

The food is delicious, amazing breakfast buffet with very high quality items and the restaurant food was succulent. Also. When staying at Songtsam, make sure to have a massage at their spa. The Spa lady Tenzin phuti is so knowledgeable and will give you a massage like you never had before. A must do at the hotel. Big thank you to Sonam, English speaking lady who took good care of me and her English was brilliant. Overall, Songtsam is an amazing hotel and you won’t regret staying there!

GGuest UserI checked into the hotel on March 28th. I had severe altitude sickness. I saw a reminder on the Ctrip backend that the hotel would start supplying oxygen at 8pm, so I had to buy a few oxygen cylinders myself. There was a problem with the humidifier in the room. The room attendant came in without saying hello, just filled the humidifier with water and left. There was no minimum courtesy or kind reminder to customers about the instructions. There was no training or assessment on weekdays. At 8 o'clock, there was still no oxygen, and my oxygen cylinder had been used up. I called the front desk and she told me that the oxygen supply would start at 8:30. At 8:30, I called her again and she said the technician had gone to open it. At 8:33, she called again and asked me to wait. I arrived directly at 8:37. I questioned the front desk, but they still didn't feel uneasy. I went to the VIP building of Tibet Hotel as a person with altitude sickness. Many other hotels provide oxygen all day long, but they didn't provide oxygen from 8:30 pm to 7 am the next day, which is very unfriendly. I didn't expect that they didn't provide it during the time period and there was no apology. I had a severe headache from altitude sickness and found the front desk to question them. High-quality service should open oxygen for customers in advance and care about their physical condition. This front desk was arrogant and had no sympathy for the customers. Altitude sickness is very dangerous. I accepted such a cold and ruthless service experience of the VIP building of Tibet Hotel when I was extremely uncomfortable. I will never come again! !

GGuest UserThe hotel isn't to far from the Portola Palace (a short taxi trip). I wouldn't say its a true 4 star hotel. The room was a good size, quiet and didn't smell of cigarette smoke. The room was a little worn out; I couldn't get the TV to work, the mirror on the wet bar area was cracked, there were marks to the walls where paintings/pictures had once been. Most annoying was the shower cubicle and the shower over the bath had only cold water! On my last morning the power was off in my area of the hotel and the lift was not working due to the power outage. The hotel staff do not speak English, but one lady working on reception was especially nice and helpful and we were able to communicate by using the translation app. There are lots of restaurants near by, but next time I think I'd prefer to stay closer to the Portola Palace.
