Been staying here a few times during the pandemic. Now that we're looking for a long-time stay, we had asked for a quotation (multiple times) to the appointed personnel: the gentleman from Sales and some ladies from FO, who both only giving a false hope and not doing their job to at least give a rough quotation. They also don't have synchronized answer regarding the health protocols and requirements we need to bring to the hotel. I must say that the security, housekeeping and waitress from the restaurant are doing terrific job; such an unfortunate that those who sits behind the desk are not being empathetic and accommodating at all. P.S. The hotel needs to be more strict with the wearing the mask policy outside the room since we've witnessed there are plenty of guest who's just mask-free every time they're out. Put more a mandatory sign to wear a mask throughout the property please. Not only in the lobby.

You can get it for less than 1,600 yuan. The location is very good. The hotel itself has two restaurants. The wine is average and the dishes are okay. The rooms are very clean and very Javanese, and each room has a balcony!

The hotel is clean, the hot water is smooth, the mattress is just normal, but for that price it's good, the car park is limited to about 6 cars, motorbike parking is next to the building, public areas are clean and available

The external environment of the hotel is very good, and the privacy is also very good. The best thing is the private swimming pool, which is very clean. If it wasn't because of two things that affected my mood, I would give a good evaluation: 1. The situation at the time of check-in: it was clearly shown that there were two beds when booking the room, but there was only one bed after check-in. After repeated communication, Ctrip made up for the hotel The difference in the price of the extra bed was enough to stay. It was almost ten o'clock in the evening, and I was tired and hungry; 2. Problems occurred during checkout: US dollars and RMB were not accepted at checkout, and there was a problem with card swiping. I swiped the card twice and deducted money twice, but the hotel only received it once. After a long communication, the hotel promised to refund the extra deductions within 15 days I hope that after a few days, there will be no cross-border communication for this extra money. The room fee of more than 2,500 per night, check-in and check-out have problems, it should not be. In particular, this day happens to be New Year's Eve, which affects the mood very much.

We booked a tour of Indonesia through Turquoise Holidays who suggested, and arranged, a fantastic itinerary for us. The first stop on our tour was the MesaStila. We were picked up at Yogyakarta airport by our Destination Asia guides (arranged through Turquoise) and it was a couple of hours drive north to the hotel (the traffic was extremely busy!) The hotel is set in a fairly remote jungle area north of Magelang and has fantastic views of the nearby volcanoes and jungle. We were welcomed at the Club House with a cold drink and told about all the facilities on offer. There is a spa and gym (and even an outdoor “jungle gym”) a restaurant, sunset lounge bar, tennis courts. There are complimentary activities including yoga, a tour of their own coffee plantation, batik, Javanese dance and a guided village walk. The villas are set in large grounds on the side of the hill and are all very private with stunning views. Our agent at Turquoise had mentioned that we were celebrating our 30th anniversary and we were upgraded to an Arum villa. Staff had also prepared a lovely cake for us! The villa was very spacious and had a large “double bath” as well as double sinks and a shower. We had a covered terrace with a view of the volcanoes and an indoor dining area. Each day we had breakfast at their Java Red restaurant which included western as well as Indonesian specialities. They also served a “shot” of jamu (an Indonesian health drink) with a range to choose from – very interesting!! We went on day trips to the Borobudur and Prambanan temples (with Destination Asia) which are both withing striking distance. We also enjoyed a tour of the hotels coffee plantation, saw how they process and roast the coffee they harvest and had a taste in their coffee shop. We bought some beans to bring home. We even managed some pool time when the weather allowed. Dinner was a mix of western and Indonesian food with amazing cocktails (Java Spice was my favourite) and some decent wines. All the food was excellent. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. It was quite quiet at the hotel (we only saw two or three other couples) but this gave it a peaceful and relaxing vibe. A great place to stay and explore central Java.

I feel the hotel overall was excellent. Great base to explore Jogja and Borobudur. Some highlights: 1) Excursions: we booked a Jogja day trip and Borobudur excursion through the hotel. A bit expensive but for our first time in Indonesia we felt worth the price. In fact, we think the hotel should do a better job advertising or featuring these services. The tours all include VIP tickets and guides, which is especially great at Prambanan and Borobudur temple. Just one thing to be aware is that traffic in Jogja can be bad so leave extra time for that. The driver was super nice and experienced, he made us feel right at home with cold towels and bottled water at every stop. 2) Hotel amenities: we were a huge fan of the new lagoon pool, and the spa. I also think the restaurant was a highlight. On our first morning, we were able to order ala carte breakfast since there was not so many guests. Quality of the food overall was very nice, with mix of Indonesian and western selections. 3) Rooms: I loved the unique design. I do not think I stayed anywhere like this before. Climbing the stairs can take some getting used to but is part of the experience. Try to leave at least 1-2 days to relax on the resort property. Next time I will want to stay for a bit longer. If you are to visit the Borobudur site, this is one of the best places to stay as it's literally 100m away from the main gate (Regular visit). If you are planning on the Sunrise or Sunset tour, they provide free transportation to the gate (This gate is located around 1.5Kms away from the guest house). Staff was simply amazing. I have to especially mention Himatul who was really helpful in providing vital information related to the site/tour in general. Additionally, she has accompanied us during the visit which kept our minds at ease. As per the room, it had, 1 King size bed, 1 single bed which was more than enough for us. The room had air conditioning and an attached bathroom. They have provided a decent free breakfast with a satisfactory portion of Nasi Goreng with Guava juice(I loved it!) + they have free wifi. + rooms are air conditioned. + they have attached bathrooms + there's a common area to have your food - They don't have their own restaurant, but there are many places to buy local food including street food. + There's a supermarket/mart nearby. + Staff was super friendly and helpful. + Very close to the Borobudur site (100m to the main gate). + Free transportation for Sunset/Sunrise tours.

So happy to back to this lovely city. Zest Hotel is always being my top priority when visit this special city. The location is very strategic, nearby city, Malioboro, Lempuyangan station etc. Zest Hotel will be your perfect accommodation choice during stay in this city. I was greet by Chacha, Rindi, and Aditya that assist during check in time. They were awesome, understand and know how to make the customer feels like home. Putra also give very quick service when i asking to deliver something to my room. The restaurant was good as always, Eka greet me with warm smile. Well, this is not my first stay at this hotel. And definitely so happy to stay again. The room was good, clean, and tidy. The Room Attendant have great hospitality. On this occasion was so special, since i went with my wife. The service was beyond my imagination, since they give us a memorable surprise in the room. Well we are not asking any special arrangement during reservation, but they did it. So touchfull ;-) Thank you Zest for always being my second home in Jogja and make our vacation more and more than happy ^_^
