The Oberoi Marrakech

Marrakech|1.6km from La perle aux oiseaux
As very seasoned travelers, my family and I enjoy exploring the most amazing resorts and hotels around the world, which we look at with a very discriminating eye. For the Oberoi Marrakesh, it is truly difficult to find fault. The hotel, relatively new, is simply stunning with the impressive lobby and villas, as well as expansive gardens with 2700 olive trees. The acting General Manager Mamdouh is the perfect and consummate hotelier, ever present checking everything non-stop, to ensure the guest experience is nothing less than 5-stars. Jalal from their F&B outlet surprised us with an entire loaf of lemon cake to take back to London that was not available on two breakfasts which we sore missed after our first breakfast. El Habib is an amazing server ready to grant you at least three wishes with his magic lamp! Khalid the Duty Manager also asks non-stop how they can improve a service that is already par excellence. Our hats off to the amazing pastry chef who makes baked goods that rival the best Parisian patisserie. I saw the two staff who cleaned every machine in the fitness center using four sprays leaving neither dust nor germ —- they focus on the minutest detail. The whole team is just extremely well-trained and professional and very committed in their desire to exceed your expectations. The synchronization of their efforts, in the most natural and sincere manner, always with big smiles, translates to nothing less than less than a truly memorable experience. They know how to make you feel like Arab royalty! We will certainly be back!!! Thank you so much to all of you!!! Shukran! If you want that “palace in the middle of the oasis experience” in Marrakesh, you will not get it any better than at the Oberoi!

This Hotel has so much potential to be amazing but I have a couple of comments to make. 1. The Hotel is run by very few staff. The few staff that run is are AMAZING but I can't help but feel they are over worked and they're there 24/7. I cannot fault them particularly the guys who are there from breakfast till the bar closes. Hats off to you for being polite, professional and so accommodating despite clearly there not being enough staff. Management I do feel this needs to be addressed. 2. Cleaning staff are amazing. Our room was spotless. Clean towels and bedding every day, so thank you too! Pool was looked after very morning. 3. The hotel grounds are stunning. It's like a little paradise and again spotless. 4. Food. They have the same menu every single day. I suspect due to lack of staff. It gets boring although very nice food, there needs to be some kind of rotation. We paid for all inclusive and had to spend more money to eat out as we needed a change! 5. We had a 2 bedroom family apartment which was huge, beautifully furnished and overlooking the pool. Cannot fault it. 6. Breakfast was disappointing out of all the meals. Very limited and like someone else has said a lot of flies. We ended up not bothering which again was annoying as we had committed to the all inclusive option. Overall this hotel is really lovely and definitely worth a visit and if the staff and menu issues were addressed I would happily give it a 5* review.

The Bird Exclusive Guest House & Spa

I was expecting this place to be nice but it was much so better!! The inside of the building looked cozy and clean and also the room we stayed in two different rooms during our stay) were big, beautiful and super clean. The pool was surrounded by a lovely green garden with trees and flowers. Kitchen was open all day and food could be served either in their inside dining area or outside by the pool, the menu had many options and everything was delicious! The reception and service staff are the most amazing people, super nice and friendly but also extremely professional and skilled at their job! We also enjoyed some excellent and beautiful cocktails that were garnished with flowers freshly picked from their garden and also tried the traditional shisha, all served while we were soaking in the shallow part of the pool. These guys are so great and made us feel genuinely welcomed, safe and truly spoiled. I cannot thank them enough for it, this place for me has just become a holiday destination itself.

When we arrived the receptionists was very friendly and so were the others we spoke to through duration of the holiday. The first room we were given wasn't great, it was outdated, not clean and was was very dark. We didn't feel safe in the room either because it had a connecting door to another room which couldn't be locked. After explaining this to the receptionist he happily moved us to another room and he was very helpful. Food is bland and the same everyday. No salt and pepper to be found. The best part is breakfast with fresh omelette and morrocon flat bread. I recommend eating in Marrakech for lunch and dinner. The shuttle into Marrakech costs 40 MAD per person round trip. Which is far less than a taxi. The rest of the hotel is immaculate and the poolside is clean and the entertainment staff are all brilliant. French is the primary language at this resort so please take this into consideration. The staff will still try to communicate with you positively. Overall for what we paid it was a positive stay and the friends we made definitely made the trip a great experience.
Palais Namaskar

We stayed there in February for a short 4 night break via BA holidays. We were so pleased to have found this true oasis on the outskirts of Marrakesh. The hotel has only 41 rooms on the stunning estate and felt very luxurious and relaxing without too many guests to intrude on your holiday. The restaurant was lovely in beautiful jewelled tone furnishings and decadent curtains framing high ceilings and glass chandeliers. What stood out here was the service - excellent from the moment we arrived and at all touch points. Mohammed checked us in beside the impressive reflecting pool and took care of every need. The restaurant staff were so helpful and we had several delicious meals inside the restaurant as well as poolside. Rooms were well cleaned and maintained. Spa staff were experienced and excellent. We had a rental car which was valet every evening and ready for us when we had to leave. We often stay at luxury properties in Asia and the service at Palais Namaskar was certainly in line with the best of the best. We occasionally had power outages in the area but there are sufficient backup lights and lamps which run on a separate circuit to allow for some light and rather lovely ambiance. The reflection pool and around the hotel is also dotted with candled lanterns making for a magical feel throughout the property. Their staff will also make log fires in your room for you whenever you need and the pools and plunge pool are kept scrupulously clean every day. The food standard is also very impressive here with refined dishes, generous portions and all served by well trained and helpful smiling staff. We had fresh spring rolls, perfectly cooked fish and lovely salads which were served with style and tasty as well as beautiful. Other important things to note: good water pressure in the HUGE showers, beds were large and perfectly firm (not too hard not too soft) and one of the best sleeps we have had in a hotel - for that alone we would return! Bathroom amenities include conditioner. Curtains for the walls of windows were blackout thereby allowing you to sleep longer. And there is a good turndown service every evening. There will always be little hiccups during a stay but the helpful attitude of the staff and their genuine regard for their guests really smooths over any minor issues. The hotel is about 30 mins from the city centre and we drove out for dinner and excursions almost every day. The staff are helpful with making reservations for you and giving guidance on parking and logistics.
