Sunrise Attitude (Adults Only)

Belle Mare
We have just spent nine days at the Sunrise Attitude and I could not recommend it more highly. We arrived first thing in the morning after travelling for 24 hours and were greeted at the gate with cold drinks. Our luggage was taken straight to a secure room, we were shown to the breakfast buffet and then taken to a well equipped shower/changing room so that we could start our holiday immediately. I would recommend having a small bag packed with everything you need. Check in wasn’t until 1400 but our room was ready much earlier and this was greatly appreciated. We had a partial sea view room which was above one of the swim up rooms. The room was spacious and had everything we needed, a large comfortable bed with a mattress topper, a powerful shower and a nice balcony. We visited the lovely ladies in the bulk shop every day to get supplies of freshly ground coffee, local vanilla tea, cold drinks and snacks for our room. The staff at the hotel were the friendliest and most helpful of anywhere we have ever stayed. They made the trip really special. They could not do enough to ensure that we were happy and had everything we needed each day. I would have loved to be able to thank everyone individually but there were so many people that we met each day, from every team, that we loved chatting with. We were ‘All Inclusive’ and were really pleased we chose this option. The choice of food and drinks was so extensive that it never occurred to us to order anything supplemented. We enjoyed the juices, mocktails and cocktails at the bars, we loved having drinks at the bar in the pool on hot afternoons and the cold drinks from the cart by the beach were very welcome. The local lychee rosé wine was delicious with our evening meals. The food is superb and really made our trip. We enjoyed the breakfast buffets of fresh fruit, cereals, hot and cold foods. Curry for breakfast was a real novelty for us! We will particularly miss the vegan pancakes with banana jam. Where we ate lunch depended on what activities we had planned during the day but all options were great - the buffet at The Social House, the menu at the Papaya Bar and the street food at Taba J (fantastic!) The evening meals were excellent. An extensive buffet at The Market with lots of fish and vegan options. We ate at the Kot Nou twice and were really pleased we were able to try the traditional Mauritian dishes- delicious! Our favourite option was the tapas at The Social House and we ate here three times. Both the Kot Nou and The Social House need to be booked at least 24 hours in advance but availability was never a problem for us. There are lots of activities available for anyone who wants to participate. We enjoyed yoga, tai chi, meditation and Secret Sunrise. Our favourite was the glass bottomed boat and afternoon snorkelling trip that we did many times. We had full body massages at the Spa at the beginning of our stay and this was a great way to relax, unwind and recover from our journe

On arrival I was a little disappointed. The rooms are small. When I got my bearings I realised that everything I needed was in the room. It was clean and Manisha looked after us wonderfully. The staff in general were amazing. Edil, Dennis and Zhaarfir were absolutely the best. There were some staff that were less attentive and you often waited quite a while for service. There is a bar on the beach but it is not always open or staffed. There are definitely not enough sun beds. Towards the end of our holiday some people took to putting towels on the beds first thing. I believe the staff should remove those towels as often the people only turned up late afternoon. It took me a while to get my head round the cost of the evening meal. Although it generally worked I did not expect to spend my holiday having to calculate the cost of my meal. The food was amazing and if you didnt enjoy something they always offered an alternative. Our departure was a late one and you need to vacate your room by 11.30am. There is a departure room for storing your luggage and shower facilities. I think it would be better to be given a time slot for using this as my husband just got in the shower when the staff told us someone else needed the room as they were leaving in half an hour. This is a room where people come and go freely so privacy is difficult. My main problem was breakfast. The choice was fabulous and the food again delicious. However, at 7am the bread and pastries are brought out. Fortunately we are early risers so got to the pastries before the birds! The pastries are uncovered and the birds feast on them. Nibbling them, walking on them and sitting on the light above them so the possibilty of pooping on them!! I understand that we are on an island with beautiful birds but the food should be protected. I do hope the hotel reads this review and addresses this as there were many people who complained about this.
Salt of Palmar, Mauritius

Palmar Coast
Where shall I start...Our stay way pretty perfect! Most of you know Mauritius for the big hotel areas, so it was an absolute miracle that we found this lil gem on the island. We had a wonderful 9 days at the SALT of Palmar. We loved that it was super tiny, and very familiar, every corner had a special detail and the service was superb. The staff really makes you feel at home. If you are looking for a Mandarin Oriental Standard, then this won't be the right one. But what this hotel had, is a lot of soul and personality. Rooms: Book a room with a sea view. We had one, but I would say that that's the magic of it. You will realize quite fast that the hotel is refurbished, so here and there you see that it's not 100% up to date, but it really doesn't matter. The rooms were super clean, and spacious and had a great personalized interior. Housekeeping in the morning and also for turndown service did a great job. Thanks to the team! You will see that TV is missing and also Mini-Bars, but that's why you have chosen a Lil boutique hotel over a big chain. Beach: The beach is beautiful, clean, and located around the corner, so u don't get the feeling that it's getting crowded with too many guests, what I loved. The pool is nice, but there could be more sunbeds. Be aware that you are on the eastern side, so when u arrive in August or September, it's very windy and may get chilly. While in November, you will be happy to have the breeze. Snorkelling: Yes, you can snorkel, and you will see fish. But don't expect reef-like on the Maledives for sure. Food: ONE OF A KIND. If you are looking for endless buffets and a big choice just to look at, this won't be your cup of tea. The food was just amazing. Very individualized menu, a big variety. We didn't eat twice the same. The breakfast menu was outstanding and so was the coffee (which usually always sucks in hotels). Nevertheless, you have to say that if you wanna dishes outside the included menu or wines, they are quite expensive (even for Europeans). The only experience, where we were not really stunned, was the cocktails at any point. Watery, not really strong etc. Foodservice: A very big thanks to the service team. you made our experience stunning, also the way you took care of my parents and everything around my mom's birthday. OUr warmest thanks to Vidusha!! But also to Vinesh, Med, Vajna and Vashish (I Hope I got the names right) We hop to see you soon!
Constance Belle Mare Plage

Belle Mare
I had the sheer pleasure of staying at the Constance Belle Mare Plage for 10 days in April with my now-fiancée, an experience that exceeded our expectations in every possible way. From the moment we arrived, the tranquil paradise of Mauritius embraced us, matched only by the outstanding service and attention to detail provided by the hotel staff. The central figure orchestrating our memorable stay was Adasha, who is truly the embodiment of hospitality. Whether it was our daily breakfast service, ensuring our comfort throughout the day, or even arranging an incredibly romantic proposal setup, she attended to every detail with remarkable diligence and warmth. Her dedication and care made her not just a wonderful hostess but a cherished part of our experience. We rate her an emphatic 10+/10. Equally remarkable was Kailash. With his innate knack for arranging romantic breakfasts and dinners in our room, his charismatic presence as he drove us around the resort in his buggy, and his assertiveness that ensured all our needs were met, he was instrumental in making our holiday complete. His personable demeanor is a true credit to the hotel. Our appreciation extends to the room service team as well. Koomar, Veenaye, Joanne, Tarvesh, Nitesh, and Sanjeev all contributed to facilitating a seamless and unforgettable experience. Their collective attention to detail, promptness, and friendly demeanor were remarkable. However, the standout personality and the heart of the Constance Belle Mare Plage was Kris. You will find him on the beach, armed with an unbeatable selection of cocktail recommendations. His mixology skills are top-notch, and his engaging conversations coupled with a fantastic sense of humor made our beach days exceptionally memorable. Kris was not only an employee of the hotel but became a friend who enriched our stay. In summary, our experience at the Constance Belle Mare Plage was truly magical, fueled by the unwavering dedication of its staff, the beauty of its surroundings, and the exceptional level of service that made us feel like royalty. We have created unforgettable memories here, and we can’t wait to return next year. If you’re considering a trip to Mauritius, I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Post De Flacq
Pros Good service (but we had better at other 5 star hotels) Beautiful pools (especially the adult pool) Good breakfast Spacious room Lots of water activities Cons Room (wooden) floor squeaked loudly when walked on We stayed downstairs and we could hear people in the room above us walking, closing the door, dragging their chair (a lot when they returned from dinner late around midnight) We had bad nights because of this. Room AC is not cold. Even though it’s set at the lowest (18.5c) it felt like 25c Overall, it was an ok stay but we won’t stay here again.
Paradise Cove Boutique Hotel (Adults Only)

Anse La Raie
We have just returned from our honeymoon at Paradise Cove and can definitely say this has been our favourite holiday both the resort and the island are simply amazing! If you are considering booking here, you definitely should, you will not regret it. The resort itself is so well thought out with multiple areas to chill out and relax with different glorious views. There are 4 swimming pools and ample seating, although the resort is well sized there are not hundreds of room (I think less the 70) and never struggled to get good seating either at the restaurants or during the day when sunbathing. Everywhere is clean and immaculately presented. The staff are an absolute credit to this hotel, everyone was so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond throughout our stay. Extra special mention to: Manoj - such a lovely, polite gentlemen who served us multiple times by the pool and made the best drinks! Deepak - served us up at the Pennisula restaurant and was so friendly and funny! Francesco - what a hard working and diligent individual! Jonathon (I think? The tall lad behind the Stay bar) - who made the best cocktails and kept our drinks topped up all night and was very impressive with remembering our room number! We also had an amazing day trip out on the catamaran which was put on by the hotel and the captains of the boat where fabulous (apologies I can't remember their names!) - this trip is definitely worth it. We went to the flat island which is simply the most beautiful island I have ever been on, had a lovely yummy lunch on the boat and then stopped off to do some snorkeling by Gunners Coin on the way back. The catamaran was available to Monday and Friday and limited to under 12 people so were not overcrowded (some of the other catamarans we saw by the islands looked so busy and hectic). I am vegetarian and we didn't struggle once with options, in fact I didn't manage to try all the options through out our stay as they were so extensive including beyond meat burgers, vegetarian sushi, vegan bacon pizzas and vegan Caesar salad to name a few! The food was of a really high standard, we ate at the Pennisula twice (and then for most lunch times), XO twice, the cove (you have to pay extra for this one) once and then twice at the dining room (buffet style food). You do have to book for evening meals at XO, Pennisula and the Cove but it was super easy and we sorted this on the first day we arrived. I am struggling to find any cons for this hotel, if I was being super fussy occasionally getting drinks when sat in the love nests by the Pennisula took a little time to arrive. Also, probably our fault but as we only upgraded to all inclusive when we arrived there was often confusion with the bill and having to get new bills without values on so would definitely try and sort this before arriving. I would say all inclusive is definitely worth it with the amazing drink and food options available! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone an
