I choose this place based on location since it was conveniently located near the Tioga Pass entrance. There aren’t a lot of options available in this area. This lodge is landscaped beautifully but doesn’t offer much in amenities. Check in is at 4:00. I arrived at 3:30 and was told I needed to come back at 4:00. No worries, we went to Whoa Nellies Deli and got a bite to eat. The room was fine, no frills. Just a basic room with 2 queen beds. They offer a military discount which was nice and they thanked me for my service which I appreciated. The room cost $250 for the night, quite steep, but you are paying for the location. Mono Market is close by for snacks and drinks, Whoa Nellie Deli which is located in the Mobil has good hot food choices. And Latte Da Coffee has delicious breakfast food and coffee. Mono Lake is near by along with several other lakes you can hike to. Bring bug spray because the mosquitoes are no joke!

We booked a week at the Heidelberg and added two more days. We were having such a great time and really enjoyed our stay. First things first. The hotel does not have to air-conditioning. We were there in July and the temps were in the mid-eighties during the day. We opened the windows after the sun went down and closed them and the shades in the morning before the sun hit the windows. The was a large fan in the room and the evenings cool down nicely. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking. We made use of the hot tub most nights. We would happily stay here again (and again!)
