One of the worst hotel experiences in my life. Luckily it was just an overnight rest stop on 21 June evening. We were in a tour group. It started with check-in. We only had light safari soft bags and thought we could carry them ourselves to our villa. But the lady from reception started yelling at us, using abusive language, to let the porter do his job. It took us a while to understand that there was no boardwalk to the villas and we would be trudging though soft sand, which is the reason the porter was necessary. But this could have been explained nicely. Turned out our villa was 119, the furthest away. When we called to ask if we could be moved nearer, explaining that I had a knee injury, the reception didn't even pause to check - just told us curtly that they were full. Later that night, walking home from dinner we did see several villas (closer to main building) that were totally dark - so we wondered indeed if "full" was the truth. In the room, they only provided two small bottles of water - when we called to ask for more, reception told us curtly "if you want more, you have to pay". It wasn't the "having to pay for more water" that made us upset, it was the rude tone. The shower was miserable - only a trickle of water and barely hot. The room felt grubby - table surfaces felt sticky. Wi-Fi was patchy. Dinner was also a terrible experience - inconsistent and sometimes rude service. Different people in our group's main courses were served at different times. Breakfast experience (June 22 morning) was good - a totally different set of staff. But the damage is done. This hotel is crap and staffed by a lot of people who just aren't interested in being polite or hospitable. Don't bother.
