Quaint House Naoshima

A 3-minute walk from Miyaura Port, it was a renovated private house in the Miyaura village and was used when I visited the 2022 Setouchi Triennale. There is nothing like the front desk and there are no staff. Use the reserved room, check out only by leaving the key in the room. There is no hassle. I used ”ROOM CHARLIE”. A rental room with a bedroom, living room and private bathroom. The kitchenette has a refrigerator, microwave and electric kettle, and you can cook a little. Clean, functional, easy to use and very good.

Close to the port of the passenger ship, it was a good location for going around the house project. It looks like a private house, but the room was clean and it was nice to have a unit bath and washlet. It was a cold day, but I had an electric blanket and I was able to sleep warmly. My husband was very kind and guided me to the pick-up and view spots in Naoshima, so I was able to enjoy sightseeing in Naoshima. I wanted to come to Naoshima again. I would like to use the bamboo house at that time as well.

Room was comfortable though small . We had 2 meals in , which after a day out sightseeing was convenient for us and both were very good . We found a cafe in the nearby town where we had breakfast .the staff were lovely and helpful . Negatives . We were a fair bit older than most of the people staying there and as other reviewers have mentioned it is a hike from the port mainly uphill and then a steep flight of stairs to rooms ( luckily for us 1 flight as could have been 2 ) we are fitter than most so we managed ok but it could be a challenge for over 55,s if they are unfit .

The staff person and owner were very available to help me with WiFi and getting settled. My bit server worked fine in all other places in Japan but not in their guest house. Also the bikes are terrible....despite being told that I could ride around the island ( even though the bikes were not electric) I in fact could not. I am a very experienced daily biker in London but those bikes were useless. V Rey v v heavy and I needed to walk them up to the museum despite being told I could ride anywhere on the island. They are heavy and a very strange design. Ditch the bikes and either get electric bikes or no bikes. Plus I had to pay for them. Also, pillows were extremely uncomfortable...large box shaped pillows that were very hard and high. Please get small soft pillows. Sheets and bedding otherwise perfect. Nice large rooms. No breakfast really to choose from except sliced white air bread. Loved location...but a bit overpriced for a dorm set up.

Family hotel, breakfast is unique. In an older house, the space is a bit cramped. It is quite convenient to play, there is a station nearby

Walking from the port 5-7 Minutes ~ Monday island rest on Sunday when you arrive on Sunday, hurry to visit all the attractions ~ The street where the hotel is located is almost closed on Sunday evening restaurants ~ It is more appropriate to solve dinner near the port ~ I love Qiantang open until 9 pm ~ 7-11 It seems to open until 10 o'clock ~ There is a drink coin machine on the first floor of the hotel~ You can also make free tea and coffee~ There is a public refrigerator on the second floor to let guests ice things~ There is a simple breakfast toast and jam cream, etc.~ You need to go to the refrigerator to get it yourself~ It's a good simple stay~ It's acceptable~
