Quaint hotel with lots of New Orleans charm. So very clean! My room was very simple with a comfy bed and antique style decor. Housekeeping service every day made the bed, emptied trash and brought fresh towels and new soap. I haven’t been seeing that at all traveling since Covid. It was my first time in New Orleans and I’m so glad I chose this hotel. It’s right on the trolly line straight to the garden district. The staff was helpful and friendly. Todd, the bellman made me feel so comfortable while I was traveling alone and was especially kind with his tourist suggestions. I found everyone more than willing to help in any way. It was a really pleasant stay.

New Orleans is unsafe, but I felt safe at the hotel in a safe location. The hotel was really cute and beautiful, and I was so happy to be able to stay at such a wonderful hotel. The general view is cute, but the room was also very cute! There were enough towels and amenities were fine. There was a problem during check-in, but the front desk was friendly and helpful. We had a great stay at this hotel!

The Lafayette is a stately New Orleans classic, and its location six blocks from Bourbon Street means you can get away from the NOLA madness when you want (or need) to. It is located on the St. Charles streetcar line, which is charming--but also can be a little noisy when streetcars rumble by late at night or early in the morning. Our room had a few quirks--a malfunctioning lamp, a broken coffee pot--but our overall experience was positive. The front desk staff was as friendly as can be.

Get room 209 if it is available. Great wraparound balcony. Rooms are small but efficient. It’s a basic hotel that fit my needs for one night, nothing extravagant, no amenities, but I didnt need them. Again, the balcony rooms make the hotel.

I chose this hotel as one with character befitting New Orleans, rather than one of the standard chain hotels that could be anywhere. I got that. However, I am not sure I would stay here again, as most of my nights were not particularly restful. Noise from the hallway (and drunken fellow hotel guest arriving home at 2 am) as well as from the street (including the strangely timed deconstruction of Mardi Gras stands between 4 and 5 am and the guy with his disco music blaring from his hand-pulled cart of loud speakers passing by at 1 am) kept waking me up every night. The street car is also pretty noisy, although I got used to that one after I figured out what it was the first night. Service was fine, and no complaints about the comfort of the bed or the cleanliness. Location is also not bad. But not being able to sleep through the night put a damper on my experience.

There was no one staffing the fri t desk on my arrival and no note explaining that the Front desk person was attending to another guest. Waited for 5 minutes which was fine except it was a little unnerving not knowing g where anyone was.

The property photographs well but is in need of a rehabilitation. The bathroom in the room had dirty grout and the light fixtures were covered in rust/dust.

Nice hotel on St. Charles Avenue. Great steak house on first floor and an excellent cafe a block away. Within walking distance of most downtown places, yet quiet.
