We have just had a wonderful meal to celebrate my friend’s 85th. birthday. We cannot fault anything and in particular we commend the young Romanian waiter. The latter went out of his way to help us and the “birthday girl” was thrilled with her candle! Thank you to all concerned.

What a lovely place! The staff are very friendly and attentive. The rooms are clean and well appointed. Great food and just a nice feeling to the place. A five minute walk to the beach. Free parking is a bonus. Would definitely recommend. The building is very old, so expect a few quirky bits and the last few stairs are steep, so just take care!

Absolutely horrific stay awful mattress with springs sticking out No hot water Breakfast all dry and shrivelled up and kept warm on hot plate not asked what type of eggs we’d like even though it said eggs of your choice on the menu Outside light on all night above our window with no black out blind No dressing table or anywhere to do makeup Lights on and off in hallway all night Stairs steep and dangerous We went to stay there as we saw they won 4 in a bed award Don’t know how ! No one there when checking out Definitely not worth the money

Just back from a four night stay at the Ship Inn. What a beautiful place it is. The staff are extremely friendly and can’t do enough for you. The golden room bedroom was amazing very comfortable and relaxing. The manager was very helpful. Thanks everyone we had a lovely rest.

Fantastic find in Dymchurch. Lovely pub with a real homely, comfortable feel. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Great range of beers and the food is of an extremely high standard and not your normal ‘pub grub’. We stayed in the Golden room and the Royal room, both of which were very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

We came for a weekend away and wanted to come back to The Ship where we visited 18 months ago and had such a great meal and stayed for hours, unfortunately we were hugely disappointed this time. The staff were knowledgeable on my allergies and were great but the size portion of the platter we ordered was enough for one person not two and we were glad we ordered chips too. The platter was considerably more in price and considerably less in portion size it was a huge disappointment. We know times have changed and prices have gone up but that is extortion for the amount of food we received. Last time we stayed until closing and spent hundreds on food and drink, this time we spent £65 and went back to our B&B the other side of town. The atmosphere was terrible. The drinks were also a huge disappointment. Last time we came there was a mini cocktail list which was great this time it's like it's been turned into a Gin Bar - Not everyone likes Gin, the cider was off the menu as no-one knew how to change the barrel! When I asked for a Old fashioned they had no clue. The last time we came Lockdown had ended and the place was buzzing this time on a Friday night it had about 10 families in including the locals and this says a thousand words. You are in holiday location you need to bring in more holiday goers again. There are many more I could comment on but I think this is enough for now. We won't be returning

After what seems like a very long time, The Ship has finally delivered 100% on all counts. Great service, lovely surroundings, excellent food. So many times after the last few years we’ve been very disappointed with our visits here, but this evening we had a ( last minute) brilliant evening. We are so very pleased to have a great restaurant on our doorstep and congratulate the new owners and wish them every success. We recommend everyone to give it a try.

Excellent stay at The Ship. Really friendly staff, spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms, loads of parking on-site and a very nice cooked breakfast each day. It's well located for exploring the area too. Recommended.

Had the most pleasant stay at the Ship Inn Dymchurch The hosts Carl and Claudia were most welcoming and all staff pleasant and accommodating. We stayed in the Gold Room, gorgeous art deco style and the room was spotlessly clean. We gathered as a family and two couples stayed at the Ship Inn. Great location for beach and walking in to Dymchurch, but far enough away from hustle and bustle of town centre. Food was good and the full English delicious! Will definitely return in the future
