Not what I've come to expect from HIE - would never stay here again! Upon arrival, there was no one at the front desk, but there was a line of people. The first person in the line stated he'd been waiting for 15 minutes and no one was available. All the lights in the sitting area off the lobby were turned off, and there were several groups of flies circling the lobby area right where everyone was waiting... definitely NOT an inviting welcome. When the front desk worker finally arrived back to the desk, there was no apology or even a ”welcome, thanks for waiting.” The room wasn't any better. Mold on the bathroom ceiling (and likely elsewhere given how terrible my allergies were), and a broken lock on our door. To top it all off, the stairwell was filled with bags of garbage. It was so awful I cancelled the second night (it was too late to move my 3 yr old) and we moved on to a better hotel elsewhere.

The hotel environment is very good, breakfast is also quite good, 10 minutes drive from the Great Falls, quite convenient, the price near the waterfall is very high, it feels unnecessary. It was the self-driving car that went wrong and almost went to Canada.

Very nice hotel in Niagara Falls. Exceptional service by Bill (bartender), Sarah at check-in desk, and Tina, our server at dinner. The room was spacious, bed & linens very nice and comfortable. We loved having a couch and ottoman for extra space. Plenty of parking also, but cost $15 a day which seemed an unreasonable extra charge considering our two night stay was $525. Unlike the Hampton Inn next door, breakfast is not included, thus also extra cost and time required. Hotel is not by a highway, so no traffic noise which was nice. Tip: you have to request housekeeping service as it is not automatically done.

There is parking lot and the restaurant is better.
Holiday Inn Niagara Falls-Scenic Downtown, an IHG Hotel

The hotel is very close to the scenic spot, a five-minute walk. The check-in aunt came up and deducted nearly 700 US dollars. I said that I had already paid online. She blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Later, I asked Ctrip, and it was indeed canceled by mistake 😑. The parking lot is charged, which is quite large. Overall not bad.

We travel a lot, and when we can, we choose BW hotels. This hotel was a little different than the typical BW's we stay at. Apparently, it was a convention type center at some point? The first-floor halls towards our room had several ramps, the carpet was worn enough that it rolled making it difficult to push the luggage cart. I will say the front desk clerk the evening of our arrival on 7/30/22 was pleasant, although she did not recognize us as Diamond Reward members, she was quick to ensure we were registered for all possible points. We did not receive a Diamond thank you for staying gift either. She did, however, provide us with a list of local restaurant options and answered all of our questions, Our room had an odor to it, which was concerning for me. It basically smelled like a very old building. When we ran the a/c unit it caused the room to feel damp. The lighting in the bathroom area was rather dim, which resulted in a led lamp purchase for us so I could see how to dry my hair properly. Our a/c unit was dusty as well. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast area very large and the attendants kept it well stocked. The room itself was spacious. One of the main reasons we selected this hotel is due to my allergies, I cannot stay in hotels that allow pets. This particular location does not accept pets. This seems to be a very busy hotel. It did bother me the rates even for BW members was so high, granted it was weekend nights - but almost $500.00 for 2 nights is a bit much considering the appearance of this hotel. If in the area to visit Niagara would I stay at this location again, maybe. A lot will depend on Trip Advisor reviews in the future.
