"The hotel appears very glamorous and impressive from the online photos and especially the reception hall. The views are most spectacular from the rooms overlooking the ocean and the hotel offers many facilities, with at least three swimming pools. On the negative side, it is an older Hotel therefore the rooms do need some (further) renovation and replastering and modernisation, such as the old wardrobes that have simply been painted white to refresh them, as an example. The rooms do tend to smell a little musty as well, could be from the aged bathroom plumbing, but once the aircon runs for a while everything smells fresh. In my particular room ,when there was a very strong wind off the bay there was also a slight howling wind noise through the door seals
On arrival the staff were very pleasant, obliging & even happy to allow me to check in at 10am. even though I wasn't due to til 2pm.. I found all the staff polite, helpful & friendly.
The breakfast buffet was more than adequate and of a reasonable standard and quality of food, but you need to get in early, as this hotel seems to cater for large tour groups and when they arrive, they tend to devour what's on offer, but it is replaced promptly by the staff.
For the cost, I felt this hotel was good value but if you're looking for a five star hotel, you should probably stick with the Hilton or something similar."

"Amazing stay! We booked a Space suite. Spacious. Nice view outside the bedroom balcony and windows. Relaxing stay. Jacuzzi was exceptional my son had a fabulous time. Hotel has small gestures that made you feel welcoming. Some snacks and drinks everyday in case you needed some nibbles.
The safe wasn't working twice, said it had an error. Our room was right at the end and staff came and sorted it out from the time I called them to finishing the set up took under 10 minutes.
3rd time I called them the toilet had bubbles coming up from the draining hole. Staff came and sorted it out in the middle of the night in 10 minutes. Really efficient service!
Making up room was so fast. I went down for breakfast 1hr. Spotless when I came back.
Breakfast was really nice. A large variety and we were able to book in advance for 3 different timeslots to choose from. Avoided long queuing and waiting for food. Any nationality would find something they'd like.
The water park was amazing! Big enough for my son to get tired. Suitable for all ages. Water wasn't deep. You'd feel safe.
Children's clubhouse was nice. 2 floored. Could sign up for different activities, ensured every child had a fair share of the activities.
The hotel would give you tokens where you'd be able yo exchange it for a souvenir or two. This was quite a nice gesture.
Hotel is around 10mins walk to a shopping centre and some smaller shops. Big enough to get a nice bite to eat and to look around.
Memorable stay, would definitely consider coming back! The hotel was recommended by two of my other friends. I thought it couldn't be that great but it definitely lived up to my expectations and I've stayed in a lot of nice hotels around the world."

"Overall the hotel is good but plenty of rooms for improvements do exist.
Breakfast is the best part of the hotel with various choices. However, there is a room design failure. The shower room is way too large and wasted a space that could have accommodated a nice sofa with a decent small table for guests convenience. On the other hand, Akara does not provide one-time slippers for guests which is not hygienic! How come it can be called a five star hotel?! But the fact is they do have it and can give you not until you call the front desk for it!! It is really bad. Why don’t you put them in place beforehand?
Further, nowadays many new hotels purchase high-tech image with all controls of the room confined into a single touch screen which is ironically inconvenient! Appropriate physical buttons existence of controlling anything inside the room is still vital."

"The guidelines for the water park area were not specific and clear. I didn’t know there were lockers for storing my belongings or where I could get a towel. The breakfast was fair, although there was a lot of food and drinks.

"I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, and even though it was my first time here, it was truly a wonderful experience. The staff were lovely and welcoming from the moment I arrived until the day I left. The atmosphere was peaceful, and my room was quiet, private, and very comfortable.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the in-room dining exceeded my expectations — everything was so well-prepared and flavorful. I didn’t get a chance to try the spa, which I truly regret, but it just means I’ll definitely be coming back.

"It's a modern local hotel chain but not my preference even at the economical price. There were a series of little problematic things that would prevent me from booking again. The property is behind the city electrical sub station and on a busy part time for South Pattaya road so easy to miss and a long way to turn around. There was some difficulty and delay checking in. The internet log in was a challenge and despite asking for help still had to figure out on my own. Despite being adjacent to the electrical sub station, they still lost power my last day, a huge explosion on the telephone pole as an insulator blew up, then several hours to repair, so I left early lugging my suitcase down 5 flights of stairs. So not for me."

The room was simply magnificent, very clean, comfortable for a family with children, comfortable beds. The bathroom was wonderful, I really enjoyed taking a bath. It was great to have a washing machine, this is really a big advantage in the hotel. The children had a great time in the water park on the roof! We would be happy to come again!

Although not perfect.. the facilities and the rooms, villas and surrounding customer service.. all the staff, simply amazing 👏 we really appreciated to have such care and attention at each step of our stay. The villa for 2 bedroom also amazing and it was very kind of the reception manager to allow us to see the 3 bedroom villa for our next stay.
One small thing.. the food in the restaurants on half board could do with a little more options and also the breakfast. All was a little too spicy or Asian.
Regardless of anything, we will be back!

I think it is not enough when you have more than two devices (iPhone, iPad & etc...)
The elevator needs to be maintained immediately, and the certificate expired since 23 February 2025.
The best thing in this hotel is the location just across the street to ”Central Festival Shopping Mall.”

DdavidNo slippers, tooth brush or toothpaste. But was mentioned in the booking so I should have checked again. The linen may have been washed with very strong detergent so I ended up scratching a bit. The front desk were mostly nice especially the morning shift but I wanted to extend and the evening front office used the excuse that the cleaning stops at 4 pm. Prices have gone up since my last visit and I got a single room where I paid almost the similar for a junior suite. There was a message in the lobby that said no wifi in the rooms during my stay and I was quite upset inside but on enquiry they mentioned that it had been fixed. So why the message/notice. It's under new management I heard so perhaps the changes mentioned but price wise it may not be value that I received 5 months ago.

TThin Lai Lai WaiIt’s beside the main road so that it is convenient to go .However , there is no seven near hotel . The key from hotel is a bit old so it is hard to open .I have to call security to open to the door whenever I come back from outsides. The bathroom is also clean .It is affordable to stay as a budget traveler
