Our stay at Shanhai Premium Guesthouse was an incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating experience! The mountain surroundings were absolutely breathtaking, with fresh crisp air that immediately washed away all our city stress. The room was cozy and well-designed, featuring traditional Chinese elements blended with modern amenities. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was perfect for exploring the Wuling Mountain area, and we loved waking up to the sound of birds and seeing the misty mountain views every morning. The hiking trails nearby were well-maintained and offered stunning views of the landscape. Although it was a bit remote, that was exactly what we were looking for - a true escape from urban life. The local breakfast was delicious and featured fresh, organic ingredients from the area. We particularly enjoyed the evening stargazing, as the night sky was crystal clear away from city lights. This place is absolutely perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway or anyone looking to reconnect with nature. We would definitely recommend this hidden gem to all our friends and family, and we plan to return again in the different seasons to experience the changing beauty of the mountains. The B&B is small but feels cozy everywhere. The owner is very kind; they specially drove us to the Jinshanling Great Wall entrance in the morning, even though it's only a 7-8 minute walk from the hotel. I've been to several sections of the Great Wall, and I've always wished to stay in a hotel where I could see it! Today, that wish finally came true. You can see the Great Wall from the third floor of the B&B! Very comfortable.

Hands down, the best guesthouse at Jinshanling Great Wall. The location is superb, just a five-minute walk to the ticket office. The rooms are new and well-equipped. Facing south and north, with two windows, the natural light is excellent. The bathroom is especially good, spacious and even has a window. On the second floor, there's a large public balcony with tables and chairs, perfect for drying clothes or enjoying a cup of tea. The restaurant serves delicious food at very reasonable prices. You absolutely must try the amazing dipping sauce made by the owner!

The views are fantastic! On the day of departure, the front desk even sent a text message with directions for driving there, which was incredibly thoughtful and considerate. It took about two hours to drive from Beijing to the hotel. We pre-registered our car and were able to park it in the parking lot. They even have fast-charging stations. We also pre-booked the public hot spring and enjoyed the Eye Stone hot spring. The breakfast quality was also excellent. I highly recommend coming here for the experience!

This was my first trip, and I was very satisfied with my stay at this hotel. The room was clean and tidy. The front desk service was fantastic, attentive, and warm, making me feel right at home. There's a laundry room on the 1st floor, and the lady at the front desk even helped us with washing and drying our clothes and added sweet labels. Highly recommended.

This was without question one of the most beautiful and memorable stays I have ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The property itself is stunning. Surrounded by mountains and nature, it offers a peaceful atmosphere that feels like a true escape from everyday life. The infinity pool was absolutely breathtaking—especially at sunset. Swimming while overlooking the mountains felt like something from a dream. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail had clearly been carefully considered, and the views from the room were spectacular. The breakfast and afternoon tea were another highlight. Everything was thoughtfully prepared, delicious, and presented with great care. More importantly, you could feel the effort and hospitality behind every meal. It wasn’t just food—it was an experience that reflected the passion and dedication of the team. What truly sets this place apart is the people. The staff consistently went above and beyond to make sure every guest felt cared for and at home. I have stayed in many hotels and guesthouses, but this place is truly special. If you are looking for beautiful scenery, tranquility, exceptional service, and a memorable experience, I cannot recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be returning in the future.

The hotel's location is pretty good, and the surroundings are very quiet. It's only about a 19-minute drive to Jinshanling Great Wall. However, the Jinshanling exit on the G45 Beijing-Chengde Expressway is closed, so you have to take a detour. When there are fewer guests, breakfast is served individually with generous portions. When it's busy, they open a buffet with a wider variety of options. The room was spacious, great for families. But there were a lot of ladybugs (or 'stink bugs' as some call them) that somehow got into the room; we had to clear them out as soon as we checked in. The bathroom drain was clogged, so the facilities definitely need some maintenance. It's probably okay for a 1-2 night stay.

We started our Great Wall walk at the north gate in gubeikou. This guest house was very convenient for that. Gubeikou is a lovely village with a shop and a few restaurants. The owners met us from the taxi and took us to our room. Room very clean and warm. We were hungry and they made us homemade dumplings, very tasty. Nice shower. Kept our bags while we walked the wall to jingshaling and returned the next day to get train back to Beijing

Amazing guesthouse and could not ask for better location to the Jinshanling Great Wall (1 minute walk away from the entrance gates). Very kind accommodating owner and staff, great dinners as well, comfortable room, and even pick up and drop off from train station. Perfect place to stay to see the wall, and the Jinshanling wall was absolutely amazing, and fairly quiet with less people. Highly recommend this place.

Location is unbeatable!! The hotel is right before the entrance gate to the Jinshanling Great Wall cable car station and trail heads. You can actually hike up to good view points on the Great Wall injust 30-40 minutes. The hotel is in good condition. The room is mostly clean and well maintained. The AC works well. Toilet has a weird smell but didn't bother me that much. Wish they provided conditioner (only shampoo and shower gel were in the bathroom). Restaurant has many options for Chinese dishes and so is the buffet breakfast. If I come back, definitely book it again for the excellent location.
